Chapter 1 by daysgoby
The snow was falling lightly. The air was cold and crisp. Christmas was only a few weeks away. Pulling his hat down farther, Jc fumbled with the lights. His hands shook as he tried putting the wire into the clip. But he couldn't seem to get it in.
"Come on gosh damnit," he cursed pushing harder.
"You know boss it would be easier if you wore gloves." Tiffany said looking up at him from the ground. She wrapped her arms around her waist, trying to keep out the cold.
"Yes thank you Tiffany, but the gloves were too thick. Did you get the damn tree up?"
"Yes it's up. The inn looks amazing."
"Let's jut hope it brings in some guests, he mumbled trying to get the last one in. "Fuck."
Quickly he pulled his bleeding finger away from the roof.
"What did you do?"
"Cut my finger."
"Well get down here so I can put a bandage on it. Come on hurry up Jc."
Jc rolled his eyes. "I'm coming."
His finger throbbed and he watched the blood drip down. It looked pretty deep. This was just great. Carefully he climbed down the ladder. He stood back and looked up at the lights he had just hung. He hated it.
"It does not look that bad so stop," she said.
She took his arm and started dragging him into the hotel. Going into the office she pulled the first aide kit out. Jc sat down at the desk and looked around the room. The room was brightly lit by the large Christmas tree in the corner. He sighed and looked away. He was no different then any other scrooge. Christmas pissed him off.
"Would you stop thinking that Christmas is the most awful thing," Tiffany said walking in.
"It is the most awful thing."
"Scrooge," she muttered.
He grumbled as she took out the bandages and put it on his finger.
"Alright I'm heading out for the night."
"Ok."
"Keri will be in the morning."
"I'll call her and tell her not to come in we don't have any rooms tonight."
"See you tomorrow night boss."
"Bye Tiff. Thanks."
Tiffany left and Jc got up and started closing the place up for the night. He looked outside and shook his head at the vacancy sign. Normally this time of year he was busier with the ski fanatics. They had gotten dumped on with snow this last week but the little ski town was still quiet. The whole town was struggling. Some were thinking of moving away to somewhere else, but Jc wasn't sure he would be able to.
The bed and breakfast had been in his family for generations. He could never just get up and leave the building behind. Even if he had to close up.
Locking the front door, he turned off the lights as he walked to his apartment attached at the back of the building, turning lights off as he went. Going into his apartment he made a cup of hot chocolate he always made. Then grabbed a few cookies that Tiffany had made him. He didn't know what he would do with out her. Going into his small living room he sat in his chair. He liked his apartment better than sitting in the hotel. He didn't have to look at all the Christmas decorations.
Jc wondered if he would ever feel differently about Christmas again. The last happy time he had at Christmas was when he was very young. Nothing about the holiday excited him anymore. The hurt and pain was still there. It hadn't gotten better over time and the only time he didn't feel it was when he was so low on himself and drank.
But he hated the feeling of being hung over so he didn't do it often. This night was slowly getting there though.
Shaking his head he took a small drink. Turning on the tv he hoped he would fall asleep soon. He should go lay in bed, but he didn't want to get up again.
At sometime in the middle of the night, Jc woke up with a start. The doorbell was ringing. He groaned and sat up from the uncomfortable position he had fallen asleep in his chair. Oh he hated when he did that. The doorbell rang again. Moving slowly he stretched his sore body and moved towards the apartment door. Who the hell would be ringing the bell at this hour? Flipping a couple of lights on he made his way to the door.
A man stood outside his door with his hands stuffed in his pockets. He looked cold. Rightly so, as snow flakes blew around him. Jc opened the door and the cold air rushed in making him shiver.
"You open for the night?" The man asked, shivering himself.
"A hundred fifty for a room," Jc answered nodding his head.
"I'll take it."
"Come on in. The rooms are up front."
"Thank you," he said carrying the small bag in with him.
Going over to his desk he opened his reservation book.
"Could I get your name?"
"Justin Timberlake."
"Address?"
"1290 Union St. Memphis, Tennessee."
Jc looked up at him. "That explains the accent. You're a long way from home."
"Needed to get away," Justin replied.
"I can understand that. Alright, I just need a credit card."
Justin pulled his wallet out and he handed it to Jc. He ran the card then handed it back.
"Thanks for this," Justin said.
"No problem. You here just for the night?"
"I'm not sure. My car broke down just down the road. Have to take care of that tomorrow. But I'd like to go skiing so I may stay longer."
"Stay as long as you need."
"What's your name?" Justin asked.
"Jc."
"Jc. Does that stand for anything?"
"My initials. Josh Chasez. Nobody calls me that though."
The two were quiet for a minute. Jc looked down at his book and fussed with one of the edges.
"I can have someone get your car. I know the mechanic in town. Where did it break down?"
"About two miles down the main road coming in from the south."
"You walked two miles?" Jc said shocked.
"Yea."
"I...I can make you some coffee? Are you hungry. I could make you a sandwich or something."
"No that's alright. Thank you though. Just going to take a hot shower and call it a night."
"Alright," Jc said. He grabbed the room key and handed it to Justin.
Justin found himself staring at the gentlemen. Wow, he was gorgeous. When the older man had opened the door for him he was immediately drawn to the blue eyes that looked back at him. They were dark blue, almost sad, but beautiful as hell. He felt drawn to him. Just like he felt drawn to this area. When he had opened the door Justin wanted to hug him. God what the hell was he thinking. He didn't know this man.
"I'll show you to the room." Jc said softly.
Justin eyes snapped up connecting with those liquid dark blue eyes. They were calling to him again.
"I'm sorry." He was ashamed of the thought he was having of this stranger.
"It's alright you must be tired."
They walked down the hall and Jc opened the door for him. It was one of the nicest rooms he had. Figured he had no other guests so Justin might as well use it.
"There's a gas fireplace. Just make sure you turn it off when you're not in the room."
"Wow, this is a nice room. Thanks."
"I can have breakfast whenever you want it in the morning."
"Ten?"
"It will be ready," Jc agreed. "Have a good night."
"You too. Thanks Jc."
"You're welcome."
Justin smiled once more then closed the door.
Jc shock his thoughts away and walked back to his apartment. This time going into his bedroom to only slowly drift to sleep. His last thought was of the stranger that had just walked into his inn.
Looking around his room Justin took his coat off. He was shivering. Going into the bedroom he stripped and turned the water on as hot as it would go. As he stood under the hot water he couldn't help but wonder why this place was empty. Then he couldn't help but think what was a guy like Jc doing alone in this inn. It was obviously his. How could someone so handsome be sitting here alone.
Shaking his head, Justin put his curiosity at bay and finished in the shower. He crawled into the warm bed and fell asleep quickly.
Chapter 2 by daysgoby
When Justin woke up the next morning, every muscle in his body hurt. Rolling out of bed he put some clothes on. After checking his hair, brushing his teeth, he headed to find the very nice looking inn owner. Maybe he had some medicine for him.
Walking out of his room, Justin followed his nose into the kitchen where he saw Jc standing at the stove scrambling eggs.
"Smells great," Justin said standing in the doorway.
Jc looked over his shoulder and smiled. "Thanks. It will be ready soon."
"Hey, do you have any Tylenol I could have? Muscles are aching."
"Yea in my office. There's a first aide kit. Should be sitting just on my desk, I had used it yesterday. My office is just up the hallway."
"What did you need it yesterday for?"
"I cut my finger while putting the lights on the roof," he said holding up his finger.
"Ouch."
"Yea. Damn lights," Jc muttered.
Justin chuckled and turned around to go find the medicine. After finding it, he took them quickly then walked back to the kitchen. Jc had the food on the table and ready for him. He noticed right away the table was only set for one.
"Aren't you going to keep me company?" He said with a smile and sitting down.
Jc turned and stared at him. No one had ever asked him to join them.
"I..." Jc stuttered
"Come on you need to eat to. Don't you?"
"I..."
Justin laughed. "Sit. Eat."
Jc grabbed his plate and and silver wear and put it at the table across from Justin. Justin smiled wide, happy with himself. They both slowly started eating.
Jc kept his focus down on his plate. What the hell was his problem? He never had problems talking to anyone. He was nervous and he didn't know why.
Then he remembered that he needed to tell Justin what he had done that morning.
"I called the mechanic. He already picked up your car."
"Already? Damn that was fast," Justin said in surprise.
"I was up early."
"But I had woken you up late last night."
Jc laughed. "That don't matter to me. As soon as five rolls on the clock I am awake."
"Five? Jeez man. I could never wake up like that every day. I like my sleep."
"I do too but my body just wakes up. Internal alarm clocks suck."
"Well thanks for calling the mechanic. I appreciate it."
"No problem. Happy to help. He said he would look at it by this afternoon."
"Thank you. So what are your plans for the day?"
"Well I should cut some wood for the fire place. Then a few odd jobs here and there."
"Why isn't it busy here? Isn't this a ski town?"
"Yea it should be, but it's not a resort. People are looking for the high end way of staying. Not a crumbling town. There's a large resort about fifteen miles up the road."
"I would rather stay in a place like this."
"Hmm...interesting. You don't seem like that kind of type."
Justin cocked his head to the side. "And what type do I seem like?"
"The type to be someone high end," Jc laughed.
"I'm not. At all. What do you think I do for a living?"
"I'm afraid to say. I think I already offended you," Jc said shaking his head.
"You didn't. At all. I'm just curious."
"I see you as a suit and tie man. In a big office building. Making big changes to the world."
Justin couldn't help but laugh.
"You are half right and half wrong."
Jc's eyebrows raised.
"I use to be the man in a suit. Making big changes in the world. But not anymore. The last year I've been everything from a janitor to a construction worker, worked on a farm, and tutored kids after school. Just trying to get by. I need new scenery. Looking to move and start over. But I needed to take a break first, so that's why I'm here."
"You definitely came to the right place to get away."
"And what if I want to stay?"
"You won't find many jobs here," Jc said sadly.
"I bet I could find something," Justin said smiling.
"All you would find are odd jobs here like you were doing at home."
"I don't mind."
Jc looked down at his empty plate. "I need to get moving. If you need anything, my front desk clerk Tiffany will be in about an hour."
"Alright, thank you for breakfast."
"I can have lunch available if you want. Tiffany can get it around for you."
"I'm ok for lunch. I'm going to go check on my car and go around town."
Standing up Jc took care of his plate.
"Will you be here for dinner?"
"We will see what my day turns out to be. I'm not sure."
"Fair enough. Have a good day."
"You too. Don't work too hard."
Jc laughed and headed out of the kitchen. Justin finished his meal and took care of his plate. He went back to his room and got his coat then left.
Justin walked down the road to the mechanic. Walking into the garage he saw his car sitting there. It looked like it had been already looked at.
"You must be the out of towner," a man said walking up to him, wiping his greasy hands on a rag.
"That would be me."
"Well your car just needs a new alternator. I ordered one but it will be a few days."
"Alright that's fine. I was planning on staying anyway."
"You staying at the Bentwood Inn?"
"Yes."
"Best place to stay if you ask me. That big resort has been trying to shut him down for the past year. That place is a dump. Five stars my ass. Jc, he works hard to keep that bed and breakfast going. It was a hopping place before the resort moved in and took his thunder. Now he has to scrap by."
"Are you good friends with Jc?"
"Everyone knows Jc. He helps anyone and everyone."
"He seems like a good guy."
"The best. You're in good hands. I'm Greg, by the way."
Justin shook his head. "I'm Justin. Thanks again for getting my car."
"Not a problem. Let me get your number and when we are all done with it, I'll give you a call."
"Great."
Greg showed Justin to his office where he wrote down all of his information. He couldn't help but watch Justin carefully. He had his suspicions.
"What's your preference?"
"What?"
"I'm sorry I'm so blunt but...." Greg looked down at his desk almost ashamed.
"Yes I'm gay if that's what your trying to ask."
"Don't get involved with Jc. He's better left alone."
"I'd say thanks for your concern but it's none of your business."
"Jc has gone through enough in his life. He doesn't need some kid coming in and stirring it up."
"I'm not some kid."
"Look, I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be disrespectful. I'm just looking out for my friend."
"I respect and understand that. But I just met him. He's nice and has helped me out. I'm not expecting anything more than that."
"Alright. I will call when I get your car finished."
"Thank you."
Stuffing his hands into his pocket, Justin walked out and started down the street. He walked down the main road looking at the store fronts. He couldn't see how people couldn't love coming here. Anyone he had come across said hi and asked if they could do anything for him. They were all so pleasant. He liked it here.
As he headed back to bed and breakfast, he heard the noise of chopping wood. When he got closer he noticed Jc right away in the back swinging the ax. The man was truly a mystery to him. The only thing he really knew about him now was that he was gay. Otherwise Greg wouldn't have warned him earlier.
"Need some help?" Justin called when he got closer.
Jc swung the ax and chopped the piece of wood perfectly in two. He put it down and looked up at Justin, taking a breath to catch some air.
"Mister businessman knows how to chop wood?"
"I'm a man of random talents. Remember, I work odd jobs."
"You can take a swing at a few until I catch my breath," Jc said handing him the ax.
Justin took the ax and grabbed a piece of wood.
"Just be careful I don't want to explain to insurance why I had let one of my guest chop wood and get hurt from the ax."
"I'll make sure I don't take my leg off."
"Good," Jc said sitting down on a pile of wood, taking a deep breath.
"Need a drink?"
"I'm good thanks. I'm just old and tired."
"You don't look old. Can't be that old," he said taking a swing, expertly splitting the wood.
Jc shook his head. He had a feeling Justin really was one of those men that could do anything.
"I'm old enough. My body tells me so all the time."
All he could do was shake his head at Justin as he watched him get to work at the pile of wood. What he wouldn't give for another guy to help him out around the bed and breakfast. His eyes scanned down Justin's body. He couldn't deny that he had been attracted to him. That he had a daydream of touching the soft skin that was under all of his clothes.  Damn he had a nice ass.
"Like what you see?"
Jc's eyes shot up to Justin's and a deep blush crept on his face. Damnit, he had been caught. Justin grinned and placed the ax down.
"I..." Jc stammered.
"The feeling is mutual by the way."
Justin went back to chopping the wood, leaving Jc's mouth hanging open.
"Jc I need help with something." A women's voice yelled from in the inn.
"Alright I'll be right there Tiffany," he said getting up. "You don't have to keep going if you don't want. Probably have enough."
Grabbing a few logs Jc made his way back into the inn. Justin couldn't help but watch him go. He could hear Greg's words running through his head. Grabbing a few more logs he headed into the inn. He was greeted with Jc's ass on a ladder trying to hang something. He tried stopping the groan but god it was hard not too.
"Jc what the hell are you thinking having a guest help you bring in wood. Please just put it down right here." The red headed women demanded pointing to the fire place.
"It's alright I don't mind," Justin said going over and putting the wood down.
"Tiffany why the hell am I putting this up? We have enough damn Christmas decorations up," Jc snapped.
"Just hang it boss and don't ask questions."
Jc grumbled more and hung the wreath above the fireplace. Justin couldn't help but get the impression that Jc was not a fan of Christmas. It made him wonder why.
Jc got down from the ladder and looked at the wreath. He shook his head then folded the ladder back up and took it outside to his shed. Justin looked at Tiffany who was fixing a few more decorations around the fireplace.
"Jc doesn't like Christmas?" He asked.
"Nope. Never has. Kills him to decorate the place every year but he does it. I just ignore all the grumbles and curses," she said with a laugh. "Come on you look cold there's hot chocolate in the kitchen."
Justin followed Tiffany to the kitchen where she gave him a cup of hot chocolate and a few cookies. They heard Jc come in grumbling. He walked past them to the sink and turned on the water, sticking his hand under.
"Damnit, damnit," Jc swore.
"What happened?" Justin asked.
"Pinched my finger in the ladder. It cut me. I'm fine."
"Again boss?" Tiffany said shaking her head.
"Just go get the first aid kit, please."
Tiffany left to go to the front. Justin took some paper towel and walked back to Jc. He turned off the water and grabbed Jc's hand. He wrapped the towel around his bleeding finger and put pressure on it.
"It's pretty deep Jc."
"It's fine," Jc grumbled.
"You know boss, if you keep hurting your fingers you won't have anyone to hang the beautiful Christmas decorations," Tiffany said walking in.
"Then I'll go chop them all off myself."
Justin gasped thinking he was dead serious, but Tiffany just laughed at him.
"It's a joke," Jc said relieving him.
Justin let go of his hand and rummaged through the kit to find a good enough band aid. Jc couldn't move away from him as Justin carefully and gently bandaged his finger.
"Thanks," Jc said softly when he was done.
"You're welcome."
Justin looked up and got sucked into Jc's bright blue eyes. Jc could feel him trying to figure out his story. So he blinked and moved away.
"I will be in my office. I have things to do," Jc said moving out of the kitchen.
"He's a little rough around the edges, but he has a good heart," Tiffany said once he was gone.
"What do you think he would say if I asked him for dinner? Saw the diner downtown."
"He would take you up on your offer, but he would make you dinner."
"I have a feeling he doesn't get taken out and treated to dinner very often."
"No. He doesn't," she agreed.
"Then I'll beg."
"Just bat those blue eyes and he'll do anything for you."
Justin laughed. Tiffany smiled at him then packed up the first aid kit and brought it back up front. Justin walked up to the front a few minutes later and leaned against the door way to Jc's office.
"Your finger going to be ok?" He asked.
Jc glanced up at him and smiled. "I think so."
"So..." Justin said looking down. "I thought about dinner tonight."
"You'll be around."
"Yea."
"I'll let Tiffany know."
"Well actually I wanted to take you out to dinner to the diner down the road."
"I can make you dinner."
"No I want to take you out."
"On what like a date?"
"No, as in two people who have nothing else better to do."
"We just met last night."
"So."
"Justin."
"As a thank you for letting me in at one in the morning. It's the least I can do."
Jc could tell Justin wasn't going to let this go. "Alright."
He looked up in time to see Justin smile big. Jc couldn't help but admire his smile. It was cute and it lit up his eyes. Quickly Jc scolded himself and looked back down at the papers in front of him.
"Good be ready by seven."
"You're pushy, you know that?"
"When there's something I want, yes."
Jc didn't have a chance to respond at his blunt remark before Justin turned around and walked out of the office. Jc let his head fall forward and hit the desk. He grunted. Everything in his head told him he should not go tonight. He was very attracted to Justin, there was no denying that. But the last thing he needed right now was a relationship. It made life complicated. Besides, Justin was here on a getaway. He would be going home soon enough and that would leave Jc alone.
The rest of the day Justin gave Jc his space. Let him work. The inn actually got a few more guests so Jc was going around making sure they were comfortable. Justin sat by the fireplace watching. He could see Jc was passionate about the inn.
At seven he knocked on the older mans apartment door. Jc opened it slowly and smiled.
"Hey you ready?" Justin asked.
"Yes."
He walked out then closed his door. Looking up he found Justin's blue eyes. Justin only smiled and pulled the zipper up on Jc's jacket.
"It's cold outside."
Jc shook his head when Justin turned around to leave. He really needed to stop his heart from racing otherwise it was going to be a long night. They walked down the street to the diner.
"Hey Jc." The waitress said when they walked in.
"Hey Ann."
"Your booth is open."
"Thanks. Hey, can we get two chocolate milk shakes."
"You got it."
"You come here often," Justin noticed.
"When I don't feel like cooking which is very often I come here. It's a small town Justin."
"I like small towns. I'm actually from a small town."
"Memphis is not a small town," Jc laughed.
Justin laughed with him. "No. But Millington is. It's just outside of Memphis. That's where I grew up."
Jc showed them to the booth he sat at every time. Justin sat across from the man he felt he was quickly falling in love with.
"So you grew up outside of Memphis. How did a country boy go into wearing a suit and tie?"
"Put myself on a fast track schedule. Four year collage then three years of law school. Worked my ass off. Then had a few bad cases and just needed to stop. I felt like I was turning into someone else. Someone I didn't like. I wasn't happy."
Jc nodded his head listening to Justin. "Always be true to yourself."
Soon the waitress brought them their milkshakes.
"You want your usual Jc?"
"Sure Ann. Do you know what you want Justin?"
"Just a cheeseburger and fries."
"Alright, it will be right up."
"So what is your usual?"
"Just a bowl of chili and some fries. So back to what you were saying. Did you get burned out?"
"Pretty much. I made some bad choices. Then just went off the deep end. So I quit and started doing random jobs. I was hurt in my last construction job. So I'm done for awhile."
Jc's eyes widened and shot up he stared at Justin. "You were hurt?"
"Yea. A beam came lose and fell on me. Nothing was broken I'm just bruised."
"Damn you're a lucky man. That could have killed you."
"I'm a strong bastard," Justin said with a large smile. It touched him the way Jc had reacted.
"You went to the hospital right? Got all checked out?"
"Yes I'm fit as ever. Just need some time to heal my bruises."
"You should be resting then."
"I do, I have. How long have you owned the Inn?"
"My whole life. It's been in the family a long time. It's all I know."
"That's pretty special. It's a beautiful inn."
"I try making improvements whenever I can. When ever the money isn't tight."
"What's your busy season?"
"Really all year, but this winter has been slower then normal. Summer is chaos. Everyone going to Yellowstone and Teton."
"I've never been to Yellowstone I hear it's beautiful."
"It is beautiful. I love going back packing."
"You go alone? Aren't there bears?"
Jc laughed. "Yes, I've had a few run ins with bears. You just need to know how to act. Best times to go is spring and fall when it's not so busy."
"I would like to go some time."
"You should come back."
"Who knows maybe I won't leave."
Ann came over and put their food down, interrupting their conversation.
"Enjoy boys."
"You having pie tonight?" She asked.
"You know I always do."
"I'll warm you two up a piece."
"You're too good to me," Jc said with a smile.
Ann smiled and ran her fingers through his hair. "How's the inn running?"
"Good. I wish it was a little busier."
"It looks beautiful as it does every year. You always out do yourself."
"No, Tiffany out does herself. I'm just told what to do."
Ann laughed. "Come over for Christmas dinner."
"Ann my dear you ask me that every year and every year I tell you no."
"And I'm hoping one of these years you will take me up on my offer."
"Maybe some day," he said with a smile then looking down at his food.
"Enjoy your meal boys," she said walking away.
"Why do you hate Christmas?" Justin asked quietly.
He looked up to catch Jc's stares and his sad eyes.
"I don't hate Christmas. Are you going to go skiing?"
"Thought about going tomorrow."
"I can give you some good mountains to go on."
"That would be great. How about you come with me?" Justin asked with a big grin.
"Hmm..." Jc hesitated.
"You obviously know how to ski if you're giving me good mountains. Or snowboarding. That's what I prefer actually."
"I snowboard," Jc agreed.
"Come with me in the morning."
He watched Jc hesitate and think it through in his head. Justin just waited patiently. And then Jc answered him.
"I'll come."
Justin smiled big. "Great!"
The conversation flowed through dinner. But Justin truly got the impression that Jc hated talking about himself. Every time he tried getting something out of him he changed the subject. He was only able to get bits and pieces out of him.
After eating their homemade apple pie and arguing over the check, which Justin ended up paying, they were on their way out of the diner.
"Going to snow again tonight," Jc said zipping his coat up and putting his hands in his pockets.
"How do you know?"
"It's in the air."
Justin gave him a stare.
"When you live in this area you just know," Jc said winking at him.
Justin looked ahead of them and could see the inn. The lights shinning in the dark. It truly was a beautiful sight.
"The inn does look beautiful."
"It looks like a ridiculous building with lights. I don't see why people make such a big deal."
"What do you do for Christmas?"
"Sit in my apartment."
"What about your family?"
"No family."
He looked at Justin and saw his eyebrows raise in question.
"What about you?" Jc asked, turning the question around to Justin.
"We have a big party with all the family. Parents are divorced but we still can get together and enjoy one another."
"That's always nice."
"You won't talk about it?" Justin asked quietly.
Jc shook his head no. "Not now Justin. I don't talk about me to many people."
"I'm easy to talk to," Justin whispered stopping Jc from walking any further.
"Justin, you don't know me."
"But I want to know you. I want to get to know you."
Jc shook his head. "Justin."
"I'll drop it."
"Thank you."
"For now," he said with a wink making Jc chuckle softly.
They walked the rest of the way back to the inn and Jc sent Tiffany home for the night. Justin went to the common room where a fire was going as Jc checked on a few things and spoke to the other guests. He sat down on the couch and waited. Then he thought of something. Quickly getting up he went to the kitchen. Justin grabbed some hot chocolate and a few cookies. Then he went back to the common room. A few minutes later Jc came walking in. He stopped dead in his tracks.
"Jeez took you long enough. You didn't think we were truly done yet."
"I guess not."
"Sit down before the hot chocolate turns to cold chocolate."
Jc couldn't help but smile. He sat down next to Justin and took the hot chocolate. The fire crackling and the heat coming from it was just what he needed. Taking a sip of the hot liquid, Jc looked out of the corner of his eye at Justin. He wasn't surprised to see Justin's blues locked on his.
"This is nice," Justin whispered.
"It is nice," Jc said quietly looking down at his cup.
Justin slowly ran his fingers through the dark hair. Jc felt his heart stop. His eyes closed.
"Josh."
Jc tried opening his mouth to say something but his mouth went dry. Swallowing thickly. No one called him Josh anymore.
"Justin."
Taking the mug Justin placed it on the table. Then lightly took Jc's chin into his fingers.
"I really had a good time tonight."
"Justin."
Justin could see Jc's eyes pleading to not go any further. The older man was scared shitless. Justin could see it all over his face. When Justin leaned forward, Jc couldn't move. He was literally frozen in place wondering what Justin was going to do.
He never moved his hand from Jc's chin as Justin placed a soft kiss on his cheek. Jc closed his eyes tight savoring the feel of Justin's lips on his skin. His heart was up his throat and pounding loudly. It had been so long since he had even been close to another man.
"It's been a really long time Justin."
"It's just like riding a bike. Once you fall off you can get right back up. Nothing changes."
"I...I don't know if I can do this," he whispered.
"We can go slow."
Jc pulled back and quickly stood up.
"I'll see you in the morning for snowboarding. Good night Justin."
Justin fell back against the couch as he watched Jc walk away. He blew out the air he had been holding and ran a hand through his short curls. What was he doing? Every time he was close to him he wanted to kiss him. He felt so at home with Jc. Justin sat for a good while watching the fire. Trying to understand the man that now had his heart. He knew it was too soon but every time he was close to him his heart went a mile a minute.
The rest of the night Jc hid in his office. Justin finally gave up and went to his room. The fact that Jc had told him he would see him in the morning for snowboarding, Justin found it as a good sign.
Chapter 3 by daysgoby

The next morning Jc walked out in his snow gear. Tiffany's eyebrows raised. She hadn't seen him in full winter gear in a long time. The inn had alway been first. She knew her boss didn't ever take a day for himself.
"Where are you going?" She asked.
"Snow boarding."
"Oh really? Damn boss I think it's been years since you took a day off. Are you just going?"
Right then Justin walked up dressed to go. Tiffany's grin widened even more.
"Good morning Justin."
"Morning Tiffany," he said smiling at her. "Hey you ready?"
"Yea just need to double check some things," Jc replied.
"Boss man everything is fine, go. I don't want to see you until dinner."
"Come on Josh let's go," Justin said pulling on his arm.
Tiffany watched as Jc's cheeks turned red. But a small smile formed.
"Be careful," she said.
"We will."
"Make sure he doesn't go tumbling down the mountain Justin."
"Tiff," Jc warned.
"Should I remind you of the one time?"
"Goodbye Tiffany!" Jc said walking away.
"What happened?" Justin asked curiously.
"Nothing," he mumbled.
"Don't break any bones, cuz I don't want to have to deal with you!" Tiffany called as the door shut.
Justin laughed and Jc shook his head and rolled his eyes.
"I'm going to guess you broke bones one time."
"One time. And I will never live it down."
"Let's not break any bones today," Justin said as they walked to Jc's car.
"Yea, I would prefer not to as well."
They put the rest of their gear and boards in the car and got started on the drive to Jc's favorite mountain.
"So how many bones did you break?"
"Justin."
"What? I'm just making conversation."
Jc took a deep breath and kept his eyes on the road. "Five bones."
"Five!?" Justin exclaimed. "Jeez Josh."
"Yea was in the hospital for a little while."
"What the hell did you do?"
"Hit a rock and lost balance and couldn't stop. I just kept rolling down the mountain."
"I do not want to see that."
Jc laughed. "I wish I had a video of it actually."
"Oh no. I wouldn't want to watch that."
Driving into the ski lodge Jc parked the car.
"Ready?" Justin said putting his gloves in his pocket.
"Are you?"
"More then ready let's go."
They walked to the building carrying all of their gear.
"Hey Jc." The guy behind the counter yelled when they walked in.
"Matt man, how are you?"
"Good how are you?" He said looking over at Justin then to Jc.
Justin watched as the younger man smiled.
"You want to go on your favorite mountain?"
"Is it open?"
"It sure is."
Jc pulled his wallet out and paid for the two of them. Matt handed then each their ticket to put on their coats.
"Have fun."
"Thanks Matt," Jc said taking Justin's hand.
"Do you know everyone?"
Jc laughed. "It's a small town Justin have you forgotten that plus I'm the only inn in the town."
Justin just smiled. He couldn't believe that Jc had actually taken his hand. He didn't want to say anything or make a reaction of it. But his insides were smiling and enjoying the feel of their hands interlocked together.
Getting out to the slopes, Justin looked around. There was a restaurant with tables outside. Many people were sitting there having a beer. The slopes were pretty empty.
"Which one is your favorite?"
"We have to go up first," Jc said smiling.
He walked them over to the lift. Sitting on one of the carriers, it started making its way slowly up. Justin was shocked at how beautiful everything was. The mountains were gorgeous and it was a perfectly clear blue sky day for this. Jc watched him look around as the lift took them higher.
"We're not at the top yet?" Justin asked looking behind them at how far they had come.
"It's the highest mountain Jus. It's the best one."
Justin's head snapped to looked at Jc.
"What did you just call me?"
Jc swallowed. "Jus. I hope that's ok."
"Nobody has ever called me that before. I like that."
"I don't have to. I'm sorry, I have a tendency to give everyone a nickname."
"As long as you let me call you Josh. I know it shocked you last night."
"It had been awhile."
"So we have a deal?" Justin asked smiling.
He watched Jc smile and again he took Justin's hand in his. Justin gripped it as tight as he could through the gloves they had on.
"We have a deal."
They sat there holding hands as the lift brought them to the top.
"So this the same mountain you fell down?" Justin asked as they got off the lift.
"Yep."
They put their boards on and made their way to the edge. Justin looked down and couldn't help but mumble oh shit.
"See you down there," Jc said smiling then pushing off sending him down the mountain.
Justin's mouth dropped. He was good. Pushing off Justin sent himself down the mountain.
Jc reached the bottom first with a huge smile on his face. He turned and watched Justin come down. When reached his side he looked at his watch.
"Man it took you long enough."
"You didn't tell me you were a fucking pro."
Jc busted out laughing. Making Justin almost want to jump him right there and then. The laugh was the best sound he had ever heard.
"I'm not a pro Jus. I've just been doing it since I was ten."
"Well damn, you could have fooled me."
"Another go?"
Justin got off his board and picked he up. "Let's go," he said with a grin. "This time I'll be better prepared."
"For what?"
"Beating your ass."
"In your dreams," Jc grinned.
"You're on now inn keeper," Justin said laughing.
They spent the rest of the morning going down the slopes. Justin could never get to the bottom first. Jc tried not rubbing it in but there were a few times he just couldn't help it. Justin was a good sport about it and Jc found that endearing.
They went to the lodge and had a lunch of hot chili to warm them up. They couldn't help but sit close to one another talking quietly. Justin noticed Jc had let his guard down and he was slowly beginning to let Justin break the shell that was surrounding him. Justin couldn't help but put his arm around the back of Jc's chair as they talked enjoying every minute.
"You ready to go try to beat me?" Jc said giving him a smile.
"You bet I am, but first," he said stopping. Putting his finger on the older mans chin he kissed his cold cheek. "Thanks for letting me in a little."
Quickly he kissed his cheek again then got up grabbing his board. Jc grinned and stood up with him.
"Let's go," Jc said getting his own board.
Getting back on the lift Jc took Justin's hand into his again. Justin turned his head to say something but noticed Jc was looking off in the distance. So he smiled and gripped his hand tighter.
Something about Justin made Jc at ease. It was something he had never felt so quickly with someone. In fact, he had never ever felt like this about someone. It was happening too fast but he was trying really hard to enjoy it and not get scared instead. So he held Justin's hand because he wanted to. Because it felt good to. But he looked out over the scenery because it helped calm him.
They spent the rest of the afternoon going up and down the mountain. Justin was in pure heaven. The mountain was perfect, the day had been perfect. He had even beat Jc down the hill once. Which made him cheer out loud. Jc laughed and pat him in his back.
"It only took you all day."
"Hey at least I did it once," Justin said pushing him slightly.
"One more time or are you done?"
"Nope let's go," he said grabbing his board then taking Jc's hand.
After a few more rounds it was starting to get dark. The ski resort was beginning to close. Taking their boards off they headed to the car. Justin's body was killing him and he knew Jc's body was to by the way he kept moving in his seat. Nothing would feel more better then a hot shower. The day had been perfect. Nothing would take away from his mood.
Pulling up to the hotel Jc shook his head at the brightly lit inn. He really hated those lights. Justin could see it in his face. So when they got out of the car, Justin picked up some snow and threw it at his unsuspected friend, hitting him in the back. When Jc felt the snow he turned quickly around.
"What was that for?"
"What? I didn't do anything."
"Bullshit," Jc said bending down and picking up some snow then throwing it at Justin but missing.
"Ah! You can snowboard but you can't throw to save your life," Justin giggled.
Jc's eyes narrowed and he bent down to pick up more snow. Justin stood there sticking his tongue out. Jc quickly started making his way over to him when he was almost there Justin moved away and started running. The two went back and forth hitting each other with snow. Running around the back of the inn. Jc hide behind the shed with a large amount of snow. He watched quietly as Justin got closer.
"Jc where did you go?" Justin called.
Jc couldn't stop the snicker. He hadn't had this much fun in a long time. With Justin everything was fun. He made him feel relaxed. What was he feeling? Was it love? His eyes widened, there was no way. But god he was enjoying every part of it. Maybe he was ready for this, he wanted this. Suddenly he was snapped out of his thoughts from a hard body knocking him over and into the snow.
"What, you think you could hide from me?" Justin said laughing.
Jc laughed. "No."
"What were you doing?" He said smearing snow on the older mans face. Jc coughed and laughed, shaking his head and trying to get the cold snow off his face.
"Got lost in my thoughts. I was going to throw snow at you."
Grabbing some snow he put it all over Justin's face, returning the favor. Justin couldn't help but laugh. He grabbed more snow and smashed it into Jc's face.
"Brat!" Jc exclaimed spitting the snow out of his mouth. He quickly stopped Justin's laughs with a hand full of snow.
The two rolled around on the ground getting each other with snow. Until Jc yelled uncle, stopping them. They laid on the cold snow covered ground laughing and breathing hard. Justin held Jc close to his body his arm wrapped around his shoulders.
"It's cold out Jus."
"It's starting to snow again."
"It is," Jc said with a smile.
Before Justin could really overthink it, his lips were on Jc's. When he realized what he was doing he tried pulling away, afraid Jc would get upset with him, but Jc stopped him by kissing him back and putting his hand at the back of Justin's head, keeping their lips together. When they pulled back both men had a wide smile on their lips.
"We should get inside before we get sick," Justin said kissing him softly again. Jc melted against his lips.
"Yea I think all my clothes are wet."
"Come on."
Jumping up, Justin brushed the snow off then held his hand out of Jc to pull him to his feet. His head was spinning. They had kissed. Everything in that was perfect. The way Jc's lips felt on his was something he would never be able to explain.
Jc stood up and grinned. He brushed the snow off of himself then he couldn't help but lean forward and press his lips to Justin's. They both sighed softly. The coldness was all around them but their lips together was warm. Both felt something in that moment.
Jc pulled back and opened his eyes. He was greeted with Justin's blues looking back at him.
"You make me feel something I haven't ever felt before Justin," he whispered.
"I think I'm falling in love with you. I want to be in love with you."
"Justin it's been a really long time," Jc said quietly and tensing at the word of love.
"We are taking it slow, slow Josh," Justin said kissing him again.
"Slow is good," Jc agreed nodding his head.
"Now let's get inside. We're freezing."
They walked in through Jc's apartment door and took their coats off.
"Meet me back here for hot chocolate," Jc told him.
Justin smiled and nodded his head. He took his board with him and walked to his room. As quickly as he could he stripped his wet clothes on his body. He laughed seeing most of his skin was red. Going through his suitcase he grabbed his sweats. His body was shivering. When he finished getting dressed he walked out of the room, running right into Tiffany.
"Hey Tiffany."
"I thought I heard his truck coming in a long time ago."
"Yea we had a snow ball fight."
Tiffany laughed. "How was snowboarding?"
"Great besides he's a freaking pro."
"Yea, I should have warned you."
"I have to get back," he said walking past her.
Tiffany smiled as she watched him walk quickly to Jc's apartment. Something told her that her boss was wearing the same kind of smile. She turned around and went back to work.
Justin opened the door and closed it behind him. Right away he heard Jc in the small kitchen. When he walked around the corner he was shocked to see him working over the stove without a shirt on.
"Where's your shirt?"
"In the dryer. Warms me up faster," Jc said laughing.
Justin stood there frozen in place. Damn this man was fine. The muscles in his back were strong and prominent. Justin wanted to run his hands all over him.
"You can come closer, you know," Jc said looking over his shoulder.
Justin swallowed thickly and willed his feet to move. Jc took the hot water off the stove and poured it into the two mugs.
"Are you hungry? I have a pizza I could put in the oven."
"That sounds good."
"Great," he said turning the oven on and going to the freezer.
Justin couldn't take it. He walked over, stopped Jc from anymore movements and pressed his lip onto Jc's.
Jc moaned softly in surprise. He felt Justin's hands go to his bare waist and his body shivered. Oh god, this felt so good.
Their kissing became more intense. Justin took the chance and ran his tongue across Jc's bottom lip. He never felt so much of a need to be with someone. Slow Justin, don't scare him, he reminded himself.
Jc felt Justin's tongue and he slowly allowed the younger mans tongue into his mouth. Their tongues met and they both moaned. They could feel the sparks being created as they kissed. Justin pulled Jc's body against his, holding him tightly. Jc ran his hands through Justin's soft curls, pulling slightly at them as their breathing became urgent.
"Justin," he gasped.
"If you don't put a shirt on I can't be held responsible for what happens."
"What will happen if I don't put a shirt on?" Jc said with a smile.
"Are you trying to find out?"
"Maybe..."
"Just a few minutes ago you wanted to go slow. This would not be slow Josh," Justin whispered. He kissed Jc's cheek then kissed his way to the side of his neck.
"I know I want to go slow with you I do, but yet I want you. My brain is having conflicts."
"If you're having conflicts, you should go put your shirt on. I want you, but I don't want you having conflicts over it. When we get there, I want you to be sure."
Jc wrapped his arms around Justin's waist and hugged him. He placed his head on Justin's shoulder and kissed his neck. Justin smiled.
"Plus you're freezing."
Pulling back Jc went to the other side of his apartment and grabbed his shirt. He felt warm as soon as he placed it on his body. When he walked back into the kitchen Justin was finishing up the hot chocolate and putting the pizza in the oven. He stood there staring, almost wishing this is what it was going to be like from now on. But in the back of his head he knew this was short lived. Justin would be going back to Memphis, home, and it would be only him again. He was getting his hopes up.
What was he doing? Suddenly he was regretting how close he was getting. You're being a fool Jc. His brain was going into over drive. He was regretting everything from that day. The kisses they had shared, to the laughs, to holding Justin's hand. Even though it had felt so god damn good he was making a fool out of himself and of Justin. He couldn't let him in.
Justin sensed Jc behind him. Grabbing the two mugs he turned around. His smiled dropped when he saw the look Jc's face.
"Jc."
"I'm being a fool,"Jc said sadly.
Putting the mugs down on the counter, Justin walked slowly over. Taking Jc's hand into his he brought up and kissed the white knuckles softly. Then he placed his hand on Jc's cheek. Jc couldn't help but close his eyes and lean into his hand. He wanted Justin so badly. Wanted to know what it felt like being with a man again. To be loved again.
"I so desperately want to be with someone again. I want to be with you Justin."
"That's why we are going to take things slow."
"You're going to leave me."
"I don't know what's going to happen in a few days, but I want just as much to be with you Josh. We're just going to take it all slow."
"I'm so tired of being alone."
"I don't want you to be alone, Josh. I don't. I want to be here for you."
Jc stepped away and grabbed the mugs.
"I'm sorry. Come on let's go watch a movie. I have a couple of really funny ones."
Justin shook his head at the hundred eighty degrees Jc had just taken. Then it hit him. Jc had just totally let his guard down. He had just seen how sad and lonely he truly was. Putting his hand on his heart he felt it breaking a little.
He followed Jc into the small living room and sat on the couch. Jc started looking through his collection of movies and pulled one out and put it in the player. He joined Justin on the couch.
Justin got the blanket off the back of the couch and then pulled Jc against his body. Jc snuggled close and they put the blanket over both of their bodies. They each took sips of their hot chocolate.
They spent the rest of the night watching the movie. When the movie ended Justin moved and noticed Jc had fallen asleep. He slowly got up off the couch and laid him down.
"Night Josh," he whispered kissing his forehead.
Turning the tv off along with the lights he left, heading to his room. Even though he was exhausted he couldn't sleep. He was in trouble. Everything about the day was amazing. He has been thinking about what would happen tomorrow or the next day. He would have to go home at some point but then would that be it? Would he be able to leave Josh? As different scenarios ran through his head, he fell asleep.

Some time in the middle of the night, Justin woke up with a start. Sitting up he looked around the dark room.
"Josh." His heart was racing.
Quickly he got out of bed, out the door and down the hall. He was glad he hadn't locked Jc's door. Going inside he found him on the couch where he had left him. Running his fingers through his hair, Justin took a deep breath. His dream felt so real.
"Justin?" Jc whispered in the dark.
"Yea."
"What time is it?"
"Three I think."
"What you doing awake?" He said sitting up as rubbing his eyes.
"Just woke up."
Jc looked up and could see something was bothering him.
"Hey you want to hmm...lay down with me?"
"Yea I would like that," Justin agreed.
Jc moved over and Justin laid down. He put the blanket back over them as Justin laid his head on Jc's shoulder.
Jc watched Justin close his eyes. He ran his fingers softly through the curls and Justin smiled softly.
"You want to tell me why you're really awake?"
"It was just a bad dream."
"About what?"
Justin sighed heavily. "You told me to leave town. That you never wanted to see me again."
Jc gripped Justin's curls and swallowed thickly.
"I know we don't know what's going to happen tomorrow or the next day, but I don't want to leave yet Josh."
"I don't want you to leave," Jc whispered kissing his head. "Let's just go back to sleep."
Justin nodded his head and turned so his body was facing Jc's. They were pressed together and so tightly wrapped in each other's arms, neither of them had a problem falling back asleep.

Chapter 4 by daysgoby
The next morning when Justin woke up, Jc was still wrapped in his arms.
"Don't get up," Jc whispered.
"Don't you have an inn to take care of?"
"Keri's here and I would rather stay right here with you."
Justin kissed his forehead softly. When he pulled back he was met with Jc's eyes and a smile on his face. He couldn't help but smile widely.
"You are so beautiful," he whispered running his fingers down Jc's cheek.
"Oh Justin...I have so many things I want to say to you but I'm worried it's too fast." He moved more into Justin's touch.
"You say them when you're ready. Is it too early to hear them from me?"
Jc's body shivered when Justin kissed behind his ear.
"No...you can say them." Jc struggled to get the words out. He wanted to hear them even though he was scared. "I...I need to hear them Justin. It's been a long time since I've heard them."
Justin nuzzled his nose against Jc's and they both closed their eyes. Their lips met in a tender and sweet kiss. Together they kissed slowly, letting their lips learn each other. How they felt, how they moved together, what felt good to each of them. But to both of them it felt like they were meant to be like this. To kiss like this and to hold each other.
"When was the last time?" Justin whispered.
"Over five years. It ended badly."
"I'm sorry."
Jc shrugged his shoulders. "It's in the past. It's just made me the sad grump that I am."
"How did he hurt you Josh?"
"I never felt love from him. It started off fast and heavy. Which I told myself I would never do again. But then I found out he was using me and stealing from the Inn. I called him out on it and then he hit me. That's how it ended."
Justin couldn't stop his eyes from widening in shock. He quickly pressed his lips onto Jc's and kissed him. God all he wanted to do was take his pain away.
"Don't feel sorry for me Jus."
"You're a strong man. And I'm going to give you everything he didn't. I'm going to show you love."
"Jus..."
"When we're ready," he added with another kiss.
"I could kiss you all day," Jc mumbled against his lips.
"We can."
Jc laughed along with Justin. It felt good to be like this. So happy and carefree with each other. Like they had known each other their whole lives. For the first time the inn wasn't on top of his list.
The two laid on the couch softly kissing and talking. Neither one wanted to move.
"I should make you something to eat."
"I should go shower and check my phone."
"Ok I probably should shower to," Jc whispered kissing Justin's nose.
"Meet back here in thirty."
"Yea."
Getting up off the couch Justin kissed Jc once more then smiled. Then headed for the door.
"Oh and Justin don't forget to grab your things."
Justin turned around and looked at him. Jc shrugged his shoulders.
"You didn't use your room last night. I'm not going to make you keep paying for a room you're not going to use."
"Are you asking me to stay with you?" He asked with a smirk.
Jc blushed and looked down at the floor.
"Don't be difficult," Jc said softly.
"I'll be back soon Josh," Justin said with a wide grin.
Justin couldn't help but run to his room. Quickly he showered and got his things together. When he was leaving his room he heard Jc talking towards the front. Putting his suitcases near the apartment door, he went towards the front. Greg, the mechanic was standing there talking with his man.
"Jc, what are you thinking? Give him his keys and send him home."
"Greg."
"He's bad news and you know it. He won't stay. He's a city boy. A city boy that will need to go home. Then that leaves you here alone. You will be alone Jc. You're always alone."
Justin watched the happiness drain from the older mans eyes.
"I'm telling you this as a friend Jc."
"I know."
"Back me up Tiffany."
"Greg, you"re meddling in his personal business."
"I am because you're a good man Jc. I've know you for a few long time, known your family a long time. He will only hurt you. Send him home and go back to your life."
"My sad pathetic life," Jc mumbled.
"I know it sucks Jc, but it's how it should be. You have this inn to look after it. It means everything to you."
"Ok."
Justin walked up confidently to them. Jc's eyes widened now knowing that Justin had just heard everything.
"Again, Greg, I don't think this is a matter that concerns you," Justin said crossing his arms.
"You are just going to walk all over him. That's all anyone ever does. Just leave."
"I don't know what's going to happen in a few days. I don't know how this is all going to play out, but that doesn't mean I'm just going to get up and leave. Leave the man I could be falling in love with."
Greg shook his head softly. He grabbed his hat and laid Justin's keys on the table. "You don't know him well enough to be in love."
"That's not for you to decide. Thank you for fixing my car. I will stop by later today and pay."
Greg gave his head a nod to them all and turned around to leave.
"I should go do some chores."
"Jc," Tiffany said stopping him. "Justin, take Jc back to his apartment."
"Ok."
"Tiffany I should..."
"You need to go and be with Justin."
Justin took Jc's hand and pulled them towards his apartment. When they were back and alone Justin faced him.
"Listen to me, please, Jc."
He looked up at Justin and nodded his head.
"I don't want to leave here. I don't want to leave you. And I sure as hell am not going to hurt you. You don't deserve to be alone. I hate that Greg said that's how your life should be because it isn't. When I told you I'm falling in love with you, I meant every word, Josh."
"I should take care of my Inn."
"Josh could you be in love with me? Could you love me?"
Jc looked down at the floor and he started to move away from Justin. But Justin lightly grabbed his arm, stopping him.
"Josh."
His head snapped up and he looked at Justin. "I could love you. That's what scares me, Jus. Now just let me go right now so I can take care of my business and think."
Justin sighed and let him go. He frowned watching Jc walk back to the front of the inn. Justin sat down on the couch and crossed his arms. He looked around trying to absorb what just had happened. As he looked around the small apartment he couldn't but notice how dark it was. The rest of the inn was so bright but here was so sad. He sat on the couch waiting.
Jc finally opened the door hours later. Justin never moved from the couch when he heard the door. He needed Jc to come to him.
Slowly Jc walked over to the couch and sat down. Justin only dared to look at him out of the corner of his eye. The light, the happiness Jc had, had in the morning when they were together was long gone. It was replaced with the same sad dark blues he had seen on the first night.
"I finished some things around the Inn and everything just feels wrong."
"Why?"
"Because I wanted to spend the day with you," Jc said quietly reaching over and taking Justin's hand. He couldn't help but bringing it up? letting it warm his cheek.
"We can spend the rest of the day together," Justin said rubbing his finger along Jc's cheek bone.
Jc sighed against Justin's touch. He moved closer and laid his head on his shoulder.
"When are you leaving Justin? I have to know. I need to be prepared for it."
Justin looked up at the ceiling and took a deep breath. He put his arm around Jc and held him close.
"I don't know Josh. The thing is, I don't want to leave. I know I will have to go home eventually but you have to know this. I don't want to leave you." Justin kissed the top of Jc's head.
Jc took a deep breath. "If you have to leave I will understand. I know I can't ask you to stay. I don't have anything I could offer you."
Sitting up a little Justin made sure he and Jc were looking at each other. He took his hand and placed it on his cheek then leaned close, kissing him softly.
"You, are all I need, Josh. Just you."
Jc pressed his lips to Justin's, desperately kissing him.
Their tongues touched sending them both sparks. In minutes Justin was laying on top of Jc as he sucked on his tongue. They could feel that they were both hard.
"Tell me to stop," Justin gasped for breath, pulling away from Jc's lips but kissing down his neck.
Jc's brain was struggling. His heart was saying one thing and his cock was saying another. Most of him didn't want Justin to stop.
"I...I don't want you to stop. Not yet."
Justin's lips found Jc's again and plunged his tongue into his mouth to find Jc's. Jc's hands found Justin's ass giving it a tight squeeze. He moaned loudly into Jc's mouth, grinding his hips with his. Justin didn't know how much more he could take of this. He wanted to go further but he knew Jc wasn't there yet.
"Justin," Jc exclaimed pulling away.
Standing up Justin fixed himself then looked down at Jc. Jc looked up at him. He got up to his feet and placed his hand on Justin's cheek bringing him into a kiss. When he pulled back he smiled. Making Justin smile.
"Let's just be us for a few days. Just give us a few days Justin."
"I'm not leaving. I want to stay with you," he said, rubbing his nose against Jc's.
Jc gripped Justin's waist and they stood there, their bodies flush against each other just happy and content. As they stood there being close Justin watched as Jc's eyes turned soft and happiness filled them again. He couldn't help but smile.
The next few days they spent together Justin helped with the Inn. Jc showed him the ropes of what it took to keep his Inn going. Justin enjoyed every minute.
They got closer every day to the point where they were inseparable. Neither of them could stand being far away from the other. They even went out to the mountain again.
Tiffany and Keri were so happy for their boss. They enjoyed seeing him happy. It was nice for a change.
Chapter 5 by daysgoby
It was one week before Christmas. Justin had convinced Jc to go out and buy a small Christmas tree for his apartment. Jc grumbled but agreed. They spent a good hour goofing off and decorating it. Afterwards they laid on the couch in each other arms. Justin could still hear Jc grumbling.
"Why do you hate Christmas so much?"
"Nothing comes good from it. It's a pointless holiday that just brings heartbreak."
"What happened Josh?"
Jc blew out a deep breath and ran his hand softly through Justin's curls. He really didn't want to talk about it but he also knew that he owed Justin an explanation if they were trying to have a relationship.
"Christmas was great until the year when I was fifteen. My mom had been battling cancer for three years and she was loosing the battle. But finding her dead Christmas morning on the couch, in front of the Christmas tree was the worst Christmas of my life."
"Oh Josh. I'm so sorry."
"My dad fell apart. I was invisible from that moment on. I had to take care of both of us. We never celebrated Christmas, never talked about it. And he drank his way to his death four years later, the eve of Christmas. He told me he couldn't stand being in a world without her any longer."
Justin had no words. He just laid there in shock.
"Then when Jeramy hit me and left it was a few days to Christmas. I hate Christmas. I hate everything about it. It doesn't bring joy. The holiday is nothing."
Jc stood up quickly and walked into the bedroom. Justin took a minute to take a deep breath. Slowly he got to his feet and walked to the bedroom. They had only slept on the couch together. He hadn't been in his bedroom. Crawling slowly on the bed he wrapped his arm around Jc's chest.
"I hate Christmas."
"I can't imagine how you must feel Jc. I know sorry doesn't help. Or take the pain away. But god I am so sorry Josh."
"You're going to leave me too Justin and well..." He took a deep breath and tried swallowing the tears. "It's ok. I know I seem weak, but I'll make it. This is all just a dream. Happiness never last."
Justin tensed and tightened his grip on Jc's chest. He closed his eyes tight wishing that Jc wasn't right, but  he couldn't stay. He had to go back to the city where there was work. He had bills that needed to be paid. But yet all he wanted to do was stay right here with him.
Justin kissed Jc's forehead, letting his lips linger. He watched Jc close his eyes and soon they were both asleep.
Justin woke up the next morning to his phone ringing. Groaning softly he rolled over and grabbed it off the nightstand. Jc woke up when he moved away.
"Hello?" Justin answered.
Jc watched Justin sit up at the edge of the bed. He talked quietly and ran his hand over his head. Jc swallowed thickly. Something inside him told him this was it. Whatever this phone call was, it was the end of him and Justin. Justin would be leaving.
A couple minutes later Justin hung up. He didn't want to turn around and face Jc.
"You're leaving," Jc whispered.
"I don't want to but I have to. There's a five day construction job. It ends Christmas Eve. I need the money."
Justin turned in time to see Jc wipe away a tear and nodded his head in understanding. He quickly laid back in bed and pulled Jc to him.
"Damnit Josh, please believe me when I say I don't want to leave you."
"I know Justin. I know."
"Do you?"
"I'm deciding to believe you. It's hard, but I'm believing you."
He looked up and met Justin's eyes.
"I fell in love with you, Jus."
"Josh," Justin said quietly. How was he suppose to leave.
"I'll make it easy for you to leave,"
Jc said getting up.
"Josh, no. Wait."
"Good bye Justin. Thank you for making me happy for a little while."
"Josh stop!" Justin exclaimed jumping out of the bed.
Jc turned around and looked Justin in the eye. "It's alright Justin, really it is."
Leaning forward he kissed Justin softly. "I love you."
"I love you too," Justin choked.
"You'll be alright. Go home Justin, it's where you belong," Jc whispered kissing his cheek.
With a sad smile he walked out of the room. Justin stood in the bedroom feeling so alone. Wiping the tears from his eyes he started getting his things together. There was nothing he could do, nothing he could change. Once he had everything he put his coat on and headed towards the front. Tiffany was sitting by the desk.
"Where's..."
"Just go Justin," she mumbled. Even she was trying to keep her composure.
"Thank you for everything Tiffany."
"It was a pleasure having you Justin."
Biting his lip he picked up his bag and headed for the door. He looked back at the inn wondering if he would ever be back. He heard the ax and looked towards the back. Jc never looked towards him. Swallowing thickly, Justin got in his car. With everything telling him not to leave, Justin started his car up and left. His heart hurt. It physically hurt. He held the tears in as long as possible as he went down the road, but it didn't last. For a long time, tears flowed endlessly down Justin's cheeks as he drove east back home to Memphis.

"Jc, come inside. You've been out here for a long time," Tiffany yelled from the doorway.
Jc stood up from the bench he had been sitting on and walked into the Inn. Tiffany helped him out of his coat. Jc shrugged away from her and went to his apartment.
"I'm so sorry Jc," she whispered.
Jc tore his jeans off and his work shirt and crawled into bed. Throwing the covers over his head, Jc cried himself to sleep.

Justin got home late the next night. His eyes burned. They were red and puffy and tired. Dragging his bag into his small house, he got his clothes ready for work the next morning then crawled into bed.
"I miss you already," he whispered in the dark.
He tossed and turned until he finally fell asleep.
The next five days were long for Justin. He worked from morning to late night so that this job could get done by Christmas. But every second of every day, Justin thought of Jc.

This is all from my head.

Right before Christmas, the town became busy. The inn was full making Jc busy. He got right back into his routine. He was up by five in the morning and worked until he knew most guests were in bed. It helped that it was busy.
Each time Jc would think about Justin, he would scold himself and force him out of his mind. It was exhausting. So by the time night came, Jc would crash into bed and do it all again the next day.
Tiffany could see he was trying to forget. It hurt to see that the sadness was back. She had really been hoping Justin was it for him.

Christmas morning, Justin went to his parents house. He had spoken to his mom a lot over the last week. She knew everything that had happened while he was away. Lynn knew how sad her son was and it was breaking her heart to see him like this.
He sat on the couch, trying to put a smile on his face in front of all of their family as they all opened their presents and enjoyed a nice breakfast together.
When they had a quiet moment, Lynn pulled Justin off to the side.
"Justin, I hate seeing you so sad."
"I'm alright momma. I will be," he corrected, shaking his head.
"Your suitcase is all packed. There's a plane that leave in an hour. It's on the guest bed. There's a construction job in Jackson waiting for you. Go to him Justin. It's where you will be happy. It's where you belong," Lynn said kissing his cheek.
Justin's mouth fell open. "Mom?"
"Don't question it. You'll have a job. The love of your life is half across the country. I want to see you happy again. Josh will make you happy."
Justin hugged her tightly and kissed her cheek
"I don't know what to say."
"Merry Christmas sweetheart. Go make Christmas Day for Josh."
"I love you momma."
"I love you too Justin. Now go say goodbye to everyone."
Justin quickly said good bye to everyone then ran up to the guest bedroom. Grabbing the suitcase and ticket he quickly left to the airport.

When Jc woke up Christmas morning he groaned. Getting up he got dressed and headed out of the inn. It was early enough that the sun was just coming up on the horizon. Snow flakes were slowly making their way down to the ground. Stuffing his hands in his pocket he walked down the Main Street towards the way out of town. He took a deep breath and walked in he knew the spot by heart. The two grave stones were buried by the snow but he still knew. Walking up he brushed the snow off.
"Well momma I'm alone once again on Christmas. But I'm thankful for everything I have. The inn is finally busy which is nice. I'll keep it going momma, I'll never let you down."
He visited his parents grave every Christmas morning. It was the only thing he did on Christmas each year.
After a good talk he headed back to the inn. The sun was giving the snow a beautiful glow. He shivered from the cold. When he got back to the empty Inn he looked around. Tomorrow he would start taking everything down. Hell, he had even thought about starting then.
Going in his apartment, he made a pot of coffee and a small breakfast. He looked at the Christmas tree and sighed. That would be first to go. All it did was remind him of Justin. Oh Justin. Quickly he shook his head trying to stop his thoughts. Suddenly he wasn't hungry anymore. Just leaving the meal on the table he went out and started doing random things around the inn.
Later that afternoon, Jc laid on his couch and watched mindless tv. He fell asleep, which he was thankful for so that his mind would stop thinking about being alone again.

Justin got off the plane as quickly as he could. He was itching to get to Jc. Grabbing a cab he headed to the inn. When the cab pulled up he was concerned it was so dark inside. Paying the cab driver, he grabbed his suitcase and headed up the stairs to the door. He prayed the door would be unlocked.
Jiggling the knob, he found it locked. Damn. Going back down the steps,
Justin walked around to the back to Jc's apartment door. It was locked too. He peeked inside the window but he couldn't see anything. It was all dark except for a glow of the tv. He had to be home.
Justin knocked and then waited.
Jc woke up with a start when he heard the knocking. Rubbing his eyes he groaned softly. Who would be here on Christmas? Probably someone lost.
Getting up slowly, Jc made his way to the door. Justin watched Jc walk slowly to the door. He looked tired. Putting his suitcase down he waited for Jc to unlock the door. When the door opened Justin threw his arms around him and pressed his lips onto the older mans cold ones. Jc jumped and pulled back.
"What the..." Jc exclaimed.
Grabbing the persons shoulders he pulled the hard body away from his. But when his eyes laid on the blue eyes that were in front of him, he was shocked.
"Justin."
"Hey Josh," he said pressing his lips back onto Jc's.
Justin's arms wrapped around Jc's waist and he kissed him hard. Jc couldn't believe Justin was here and he was in his arms, kissing him again. Jc didn't know how to respond. Again he pulled Justin back.
"Justin what are you doing here?"
Putting his hands on Jc's cheek he kissed him softly.
"I'm not leaving again Josh. I'm here to stay. We are going to be together."
Jc's eyes widened. "What?"
"Josh we can be together."
"You want to be with me?"
"Yes Josh more then anything."
"I've missed you so much," Jc choked putting his head in Justin's neck.
Justin hugged him tightly and placed his own face in Jc's neck.
"Oh Josh I've missed you so much too. I've been miserable this past week. I need to be with you. I love you."
"I love you Justin."
Jc couldn't believe it. Justin was here. He closed his eyes and just savored being in Justin's arms. It was all a dream, it had to be a dream. But yet Justin was pressed against him he felt the warmth of his arms.
Then it hit him...he wasn't alone. It was Christmas and he wasn't alone. He gripped Justin harder and tears slid down his cheeks.
"I'm not alone."
"No you're not alone. You won't be alone ever again."
Jc's legs buckled but Justin held him up.
"Come on Josh let's go sit down," Justin said pulling away. He walked them over to couch and sat them down. Taking Jc's hands into his.
"Josh I love you so much."
Jc leaned forward and kissed Justin softly. "I love you. So what is going on Justin?"
"My mom surprised me. She knew this past week I haven't been happy being home. I told her about you. She found me a job here Josh. I'm here for good."
"You want to be here with me?"
"Yes," Justin said slowly.
He wiped the slow moving tears away from the older mans cheek.
"Merry Christmas Josh."
Jc put his hand over Justin's and gripped it tightly. Then he uttered words he hadn't said in so long.
"Merry Christmas Justin."
He then walked over to the Christmas tree and picked a small box up.
"I was hoping, praying you would come back but...Iwasn't sure if you would or not." He could feel his cheeks turning red and he fumbled with the box. "But you came back..."
He coughed and run his hands through his hair nervously.
Justin stood up and walked over to him. Whatever Jc wanted to give to him meant a lot.
"What is it Josh?"
Jc just put the box in Justin's hands. Slowly Justin unwrapped the tiny box. Then lifted the lid.
"It's was my great grandpas. He's the one who opened the inn."
"Josh," he mumbled lifting the ring out.
"Please say you'll stay with me, that we can make this work. I want you to stay and help me with the inn. I love you. I think I fell in love with you the moment I opened the door at one in the morning to give you a room. You are all I ever think about. It hasn't been the same. I don't feel the same since you left. The inn was a happier place when you were here. Say you will be my life time partner?"
Justin looked up into the liquid blue eyes that he had fallen in love with. They were glossed over with unleashed tears. His own eyes were watering. Looking down at the ring, he knew that this was where he was meant to be. Taking the ring he placed it on his finger. Then put his hand gently on Jc's cheek.
"I can't see myself any other place."
"This is all I can offer you Justin. Me and this Inn. You have to be sure that this is what you want, what you can live with."
"As long as we are together, we can make it work."
"I love you," Jc whispered. He sighed when he felt the ring on his cheek. They were going to be together.
"I love you Josh."
Justin leaned forward and kissed Jc softly at first. He placed short kisses on his lips but then the need and want for more took over. Their arms wrapped around each other and their lips never broke.
Jc finally pulled back for a breath. "You are probably hungry, that's a long flight." Moving away he started making his way into the kitchen. "I don't have anything and everything is closed. Shit," he muttered.
"You're an inn, Josh. You've got to have something," Justin laughed. "Let's go look," he suggested.
They walked into the kitchen and started looking for something to eat. Justin made them something small but it worked. When they finished eating Justin helped Jc do the dishes. Jc couldn't believe what was happening. Just being in the apartment and doing dishes with Justin actually brought tears to his eyes. For the first time in five years he wasn't alone on Christmas.
"Josh what's wrong?"
"I'm not alone."
Laughing a little Justin walked over to him and lifted him so he was sitting on the counter.
"No you are not alone."
Justin stood between his legs and Jc wrapped his legs around his waist. He kissed Jc hard and full of passion. Jc moaned into his mouth when Justin's tongue swiped across his bottom lip. He sucked softly on his lip then Jc let his tongue in. Their tongues battled and played.
Jc tangled his hands in Justin's hair and pulled softly at it. Justin sighed softly. Everything about kissing Jc and having him in his arms felt so right.
"I want you Justin," Jc groaned.
Justin's lips were now sucking and kissing the side of his neck and Justin could feel their hardness rubbing against each other.
"Baby, I want you so bad."
Justin had thought about this since the night they met. The dreams he had, had made him hard. Every morning he had woken up with a hard on and now he was finally going to get to feel what it was like.
"As much as I would like to fuck you right here let's go to the bedroom," Justin said putting his hands under his lovers shirt.
Jc jumped but he wasn't sure if it was from Justin's cold hands or if it was from Justin touching his skin.
"Sorry my hands are a little cold."
"Please Justin," Jc said kissing down Justin's neck.
"Come on," Justin said taking him down off the counter.
As they made their way to the bedroom, they stripped each other leaving a trail of clothes behind him. By the time they hit the bed they were just in their briefs. Justin didn't want his lips to leave Jc's.
He sucked softly on Jc's bottom lip and Jc moaned softly. Justin loved hearing his moans and he wanted more. Running his hands between their bodies, Justin softly groped Jc's hardness. Jc's hips shot up and he groaned.
"Josh."
"Yea."
"Top or bottom?" He asked sucking on his lovers neck and slipping his hand into his briefs wrapping his hand around the hardened shaft.
"Bottom," Jc moaned.
Justin grinned and yanked Jc's briefs down. It was time to taste. Pushing the older man down on the bed he lifted up his legs and licked the tight bud.
"Jesus."
"So tight," Justin said pushing his tongue inside.
Jc thought he was going to lose it fast. This was going to be hard to last. Justin continued licking at the tight hole and his hand pumped Jc's cock, pulling at it hard.
"Feel good, baby?" Justin asked.
"Yes! Oh god, Justin," Jc yelled out. His breathing was becoming labored already. Oh god.
"Jus, please!"
Justin sat up and grinned. Jc sat up with him and pulled at Justin's briefs, desperate to look and touch him finally. Justin's cock sprung to life and Jc groaned at the site.
"Beautiful," he whispered before leaning down and taking Justin's cock into his warm wet mouth.
"Fuck yes. Josh!" Justin screamed out.
He placed his hand on the back of Jc's head and guided him further down on his shaft. Jc opened his mouth wide, letting all of Justin go deep down to his throat. He was balls deep and Jc's nose was hitting his groin. Jc held it as long as he could, tightening his lips.
"Holy hell," Justin exclaimed.
Pulling off, Jc took a deep breath and brought it right back in. He worked the hard cock. He didn't want it out of his mouth. He loved the feel of it.
The pulsing vein that ran down it. The way the tip felt as it tingled on his tongue. Justin was in pure pleasure. He lost track of anything other than the feel of Jc's mouth ok him.
Jc pulled off of him most of the way until just his mushroom head was in his mouth. He milked the head and let his hand wrap around Justin's shaft, pumping him quickly. Justin struggled to breath. His fingers ran continues though the short black hair on his lovers head. His hips rose and fell with Jc's mouth wanting nothing but to be back fully into his mouth.
"Fuck. Your mouth feels so good,"
Justin moaned.
Jc looked up at him and grinned. Justin pulled him off his cock and up to his mouth. They kissed heavily, their tongues battling for dominance.
"Lay down Josh," Justin said kissing his neck.
Slowly Jc laid down on the bed as Justin crawled on top of him. Their lips connected again. Jc allowed Justin to take over his mouth, his tongue. Justin's body covered his smaller one. He could feel his cock resting on his thigh and he so desperately wanted it in him. Filling him.
"Take me Justin. God, I need you," Jc moaned, feeling their cocks throbbing.
Justin kissed him hard once more then sat up a little. He lifted Jc's legs and then placed his cock at the tight hole, just waiting for him. Slowly he pushed in. Watching carefully as he did. Jc's body tensed he gripped Justin's upper arms.
"Tell me if I need to stop."
"No. No stopping. Keep going. Oh god it feels good."
Jc's fingers gripped his arms tighter as Justin filled him. He got all the way in and stayed. Both men were struggling to catch their breath.
"Damn you're so tight," Justin groaned. He gritted his teeth.
"Have I mentioned it's been awhile," Jc moaned.
"Once or twice," Justin said smiling and kissing him.
"Come on Jus," Jc groaned wiggling his hips.
"I don't want to hurt you."
"I could care less. Move!"
Justin attacked Jc's lips again as he slowly pulled out. They both moaned into each other's mouth.
Justin started moving his hips, sending him in and out of his lovers hole. Jc started to loosen a little but he still gripped Justin tightly.
Jc's eyes closed tight. He was fighting both pain and pleasure. His mouth opened but nothing seemed to come out. Justin kissed down his neck. His fingers gripped Jc's hips as he moved faster. He moaned into Jc's ear.
"Baby you are alright?"
Jc's face turned and stared into Justin's blue.
"Yes," Jc finally got out. He took a shallow breath as Justin's lips covered his again.
Reaching between them Justin wrapped his hand around Jc's hard shaft making the older man arch his back and moan loudly. Justin stroked in rhythm of his hips. Long and hard.
"Justin," Jc stuttered.
"It's ok Jc."
Jc's head moved back and forth. This couldn't be real. It was a dream he was going to wake up and be a alone again. His orgasm was building, he could feel the burn through his body. All the blood was rushing to the tip of his cock.
"Fuck," he groaned.
Justin sat up and watched his hard cock slip in and out. God Jc was so tight. But god, it felt so damn good.
"Baby, cum for me. I want to see you explode," he said staring into Jc's blue eyes.
Jc wrapped his hand over Justin's on his cock helping him move faster. He was desperate, almost to the point of no return. It would happen soon. Together they pulled violently at Jc's throbbing hardness.
Justin's  thrusts became more urgent. He wouldn't be lasting much longer. He thrust harder into his lover. With each hard push Jc cried out.
"God Jc," Justin moaned.
"Jus...yes. Oh god yes, keep going."
One more pull on his cock and Jc lost it. His cum shot in long strings into his stomach. Justin groaned and moaned just as loudly as Jc did as he went through his orgasm. Fuck, this was so hot!
As Jc's body shook, it tightened around Justin's cock making the hole even tighter. With one final thrust his orgasm hit. He gripped Jc's hips tightly, doing everything to hold on. A string of swear words passed his lips.
"Jus...I love you," Jc whimpered as his body started coming down.
Their eyes locked and Justin cummed hard. With each thrust, his warm liquid filled Jc. His head fell back and his eyes closed tightly. Never had it felt so right, so good.
"I love you Josh," Justin mumbled.
Jc's hand ran up Justin's chest. He pulled him down and kissed him roughly. He wrapped his legs around Justin's waist keeping him deep in his hole.
"I love you," Jc whispered again against Justin's lips.
"I love you," Justin said kissing around his lovers face.
Pulling out he laid next to him holding him close. Jc snuggled close and put his head in Justin's neck.
"This feels so right. So good," Jc whispered.
"You and me are so right, Josh. There's nothing better than this right now. You and me."
Jc looked up at him and kissed Justin's jaw. He nuzzled his head back in Justin's neck and closed his eyes.
"I made a wish last night when it hit midnight."
"What did you wish Jc?" Justin said smiling.
"Let's just say it came true," Jc said smiling.
Taking his lovers chin in his fingers he lifted it up. When their blue eyes connected, it took Justin's breath away. He saw the love that he had seen the first week they had been together. It was back and he was going to make sure that it never left. That his lover was never alone.
Happy and content, they fell asleep for a shirt nap in each other's arms. When they woke up later, both of them had smiles on their face.
"I want you to come somewhere with me," Jc said running his finger across Justin's jaw.
"When do you want to go?"
"Now."
Justin nodded his head. "Let's go baby."
He kissed Jc softly and then they got out of bed and got dressed. Dressing warmly they walked down main street, the same way Jc had walked that morning. When they got to the cemetery, Justin looked at Jc and tightened his grip on his hand.
"My mom and dad are here. They need to know something," Jc offered as an explanation.
They continued walking, Jc showing the way to his parents grave sites. When they got there Justin could tell Jc had already been there earlier because they weren't covered with snow.
Jc kneeled next to his moms and let his finger touch the stone softly. Justin kneeled down next to him, keeping their hands together.
"Momma, I told you this morning that I was alone again. That this Christmas wasn't anything different. I was wrong. I'm happy now momma. I found love. Love came to me," he said looking at Justin with a smile on his face. Justin mirrored his smile.
"I love you momma and miss you so much. But I want you to know that I'm happy. Christmas means something again for the first time since you've been gone. Justin is good to me. We are happy."
Justin squeezed his lovers hand and they stood up slowly, still looking down at the graves.
Jc turned to Justin and immediately Justin brought his hand up to Jc's cold cheek. Their blues eyes locked.
"Thank you for coming with me," Jc whispered.
"Josh, I'm with you from here until forever. You're the love of my life."
Jc pushed forward and their lips collided. They knew from that moment on their lives would be full of love for each other. They were soul mates. And every Christmas, they would remember this moment when Jc finally found Christmas again because of Justin's love.
