Story Categories

Exceptional Series
A series is a number of interconnected stories or vignettes which are each complete in and of themselves. Series must have at least two parts to completed

Remarkable Multi-Parter
This category includes all stories that are long enough to be broken up into chapters (ie. Sagas, Novels). Each chapter is not a separate piece, in that it would not make sense if read on its own and without the parts prior or following.

Astounding One-Shot
This category includes all completed stand-alone pieces, no matter how short or long they are. As long as they are concluded in one part, they are considered a stand-alone and eligible in this category.  Only short stories may be nominated in this category.

Extraordinary Alternate Universe
Fiction that takes place outside of the "NSYNC" world are eligible in this category. This does not include future fic.

Captivating Deleted Scene or Capture
Fiction that isn't a full story. It’s a deleted scene that was edited from the original work, or just a capture that was written and never became a complete story.

Super-Sexy Smut
A fiction in any format that demonstrates outstanding erotica. This fiction can be any genre with an NC-17 rating.

Spectacular Slash
A fiction in any format that features a M/M pairing.

Sensational Song-Based
A fiction in any format that demonstrates outstanding writing, that is either based on song lyrics or is heavily influenced or inspired by a song.

Charming Challenge Response
A fiction that was written in response to a challenge that demonstrates outstanding writing.

Intriguing Work In Progress
The only category in which an unfinished fiction (at least three chapters complete) may participate. If the works in progress is finished within the nomination period, the story will be removed and added to Remarkable Multi-Parter (if the category is not yet full) and the author and/or nominator should contact me to request that it be added to any other additional categories.

Brilliant Dialogue
A fiction in any format that demonstrates outstanding dialogue between the characters. This includes depiction of the characters and flow of the dialogue throughout the story.

Brilliant Descriptive
A fiction in any format that demonstrates outstanding narrative and descriptive qualities. This includes scene, mood, tone, and setting.

Exquisite Collaboration
A fiction in any format that was collaborated upon and written by two or more authors.

Story Spotlight
A story you think isn’t getting enough love

Most Anticipated Update
A work-in-progress fiction that has you wishing they would update already, even if it was just updated an hour ago.

Impressive Characterization of Justin
A fiction in any format that portrays the character of Justin in a very impressive way to the reader.

Impressive Characterization of Chris
A fiction in any format that portrays the character of Chris in a very impressive way to the reader.

Impressive Characterization of Joey
A fiction in any format that portrays the character of Joey in a very impressive way to the reader.

Impressive Characterization of Lance
A fiction in any format that portrays the character of Lance in a very impressive way to the reader.

Impressive Characterization of JC
A fiction in any format that portrays the character of JC in a very impressive way to the reader.

Innovative Original Character
A fiction in any format that portrays an original character, created by the author, in a very creative way.

Favorite Couple
The romantic couple that had you rooting for them, cursing their stupidity, or just plain wishing you were one of them.

Best Villain
For the character you love to hate.

Chapters/Scenes

Best Kiss
Whether it was the one you’d been waiting for forever or it was simply the softest/hottest/most epic kiss ever written, this kiss was extraordinary. (chapter)

Best Quote
The line that made you squee or cry or pee your pants with laughter. (chapter)

Best Fight
For the best fight, physical or verbal, between characters. (chapter)

Most OMG WTF moment
For the scene where you were left thinking OMG WTF (chapter)

Best Break-Up
For the best breakup scene (chapter)

Ultimate Ending
For the ultimate ending, either a good one or one of those ones that make you want to ream the author (chapter)

All fan fiction from the above categories are eligible for this category.

Phenomenal Fan Fiction Site
All fan fiction sites are eligible for this category.

Ultimate Author *
This is an award for an author and their entire collection of works. The author who wins this should be the author that you believe has written the most consistently outstanding NSYNC fan fiction. The author has to have written at least ten complete stories in order to be eligible in this category.

Inspiring Author *
This is an award for an author and their collection of works. The author who wins this should be the author that you believe has written an outstanding collection of NSYNC fan fiction. The author has to have written at least five complete stories in order to be eligible in this category.

Supreme Newbie
This is an award for a new author and their collection of works. The author who wins this should be the author that you believe has written outstanding NSYNC fan fiction, and has only been writing in the fandom for the past year. The author has to have written at least one complete story in order to be eligible in this category.

Heather's Choice
This award is given to any author or story that Heather believes deserves the acknowledgement and recognition. The author/story may or may not be nominated in the current season. Recipients of the award are chosen by Heather and only Heather, nominations are not accepted.
