Disclaimers: I have two basic disclaimers for this story. First, I know very little about Keri Hilson, so the portrayal of her in this story is purely fictional. I realize there may be inaccuracies about her life or her personality may be totally different. That's ok. It's on purpose.

Second, I usually write AUs because keeping up with Justin's real life is hard. lol But this is not an AU. I've obviously taken liberties with Justin's life and schedule. The timeline in this story isn't always on par with reality.

Other than that, I promised myself I wouldn't do another Velvet (that is, start a story then not know how to finish it). I know how this ends. And I've written a lot of this story already, so I hope to keep you guys with pretty consistent updates.

Ok, here's Chapter 3. It gets pretty... intense. I didn't want to walk on egg shells or gloss over stuff. I wanted to write something real. So, as the lovely Kaleena said, "Oh, she went there." Yes, I definitely went there.

Oh my goodness, you guys! I am so, so sorry for the lack of updates, but I've seriously been without the internet for over a month now. Then my computer was back at the factory for over 2 weeks! Imagine having no computer for 2 weeks! Torture. lol Anyway, I got it back today, and my internet FINALLY works! I feel like throwing a party I'm so excited. Haha.

Anyway, I'm back in commission and posting this now. That's the good news. The bad news is that Chapter 16 is the last chapter I had fully written out. I've got lots of middle-to-end stuff written, but now I gotta fill in the rest (I totally never write in order lol). I started working on Chapter 17 and will hopefully write more this weekend, but life has been kind of crazy lately, too. So unfortunately updates won't be as frequent as before. But I'm working on it, I'm promise! I've missed you all a lot. And hopefully you haven't forgotten about me! Haha.

Hey everybody! I wanted to thank you all so much for your comments on the last chapter. You guys had a lot of great things to say, and I really really appreciated it. Even though I am weeks late, I did finally respond to all of your comments for chapter 25.

I'm sorry I haven't updated in a while, but my life has been a bit of a roller coaster these past few weeks. Not to bore you all with my drama (doesn't it seem like I have never-ending drama lol?), but my ex-friend and roommate stole a lot of money from me, so I had to go to the police and the courthouse and deal with the bank and all this other crap plus find a new roommate, etc. Then my other friend who was letting me use her computer for a little while had to take it back for summer classes, so I was without the Internet for a bit because my old computer is still a piece of shit. LOL

Thankfully, I've got everything sorted out now, and I finally just decided to get a new computer because I couldn't deal with my old one. So my Internet is back. Hallelujah! LOL

Anyway... enough of that crap! I think once you guys get to the end of this chapter, you'll start to see the beginnings of what is to come. It's going to be a little bit of a ride. And that's all I can really say right now.

I love you guys so much, and thank you for always sticking with me even when my life is in shambles, as my friend Jess would say. LOL

Hey guys. So I finished this chapter, and I figured I'd go ahead and post it even though I just updated yesterday.

I know you guys are going to hate me for this chapter. *Puts on protective shield* LOL

I just want to say in reading all your comments that I know that characters in this story are becoming beyond frustrating, and I know you all hate where this is going. But I've been working on this story for over a year, and it's my baby. It's definitely the most challenging and intense story I've ever written, that's for sure.

I haven't set out to portray characters in any particular way. I wanted to create flawed characters definitely but also relatable characters. They are frustrating though, definitely frustrating. I know that, but because I've created them I also have a little more insight into why they act the way they do that you guys might not have seen yet. LOL

Anyway, I know exactly how this story ends, and I know exactly the journey everyone in the story is going to take. Right now it just seems like a bunch of drama, which it is, and there'll be more drama to come as well. I personally feel that life is full of drama (I know for sure mine is LOL) and that every good story has some drama in it.

But every story has an arc, and everything the characters go through in this story has a purpose. If you'd like to continue this ride with me, I'd love to have you. If you wanna hop off at any time, thank you for spending some time with me and leaving me your thoughts.

Okay, wow. Where do I even start? First of all, I'm sorry I took so long to post this chapter. I don't have much time to write during the week, and my weekends have been pretty busy lately. I have most of the next chapter done already, so hopefully I'll be able to post that soon.

Now before I say anything else, I just want to say thank you. I have the absolute best readers in the world. I'm sure every writer feels that way, but you guys are really amazing.
