Gotta love those subtle bits of humor and sarcasm in a serious situation—“Take a deep breath, Kirkpatrick. Get dressed and drive me to the hospital, then you can wig out all you want after that.”
I also admire the mention of Joey; it couldn’t be worded any better—“And as much as he didn't want to remind himself, he'd cried about it while Joey listened and gave fatherly advice, since he had Briahna and knew how it was to be a dad.” Wonder if Chris really will consult Joey or Justin if he becomes a dad one of these days.
It was so adorable when Joey said, “And I will be here to take pictures and send them to the rest of the guys so they can be jealous that Uncle Joey was here first.” Makes me wonder if Briahna or Kloey refer to any of the guys as “Uncle Lance” or “Uncle Chris.”
“Her big goof of a husband was really serious when it came to things that were important.” Ain’t that the gospel truth. Ain’t that the gospel truth.
When it comes to genders, I’m not picky, but I’m glad they have a daughter in this story. There’s just something to be said about a daddy and his baby girl. “He was a Dad. It was a humbling feeling to know that he was holding a part of himself. That someone depended on him for everything. “Hi precious,” he whispered, kissing her as he took her to Jenna. “Say hi to Mommy,” he smiled, tears coming to his eyes as Jenna kissed their daughter.” If it were any sweeter, my friend, you’d reduce me to a sticky puddle.
Great name, too. Olivia Addison Kirkpatrick—pretty, catchy, and it means something. The “God Must Have Spent” cameo was a lovely touch as well.
Awesome story, mate. Purely awesome.
OMG! Can you imagine if Chris has a kid?? I would cry of happiness!
Aww! I love how he was excited and nervous when Jenna was having contractions, and I also like that Joey was there as well.
What a cute story.. I enjoyed it. :)
