YAYYY! First of all, SO glad that Marissa FINALLY got to her senses, and saw the events right in front of her of Cassandra and Thomas, and LOVE that JC beat up Thomas again..woot woot! And I'm SO glad that JC wants to make the relationship b/tween him and Cassandra, now EVERYONE will know! :D Now, Thomas can't get near them cause they are gonna have bodyguards and everything at every nook and cranny..so goodbye Thomas, GTFO!
Now, on to Marissa, she was blindsided by Thomas and didn't believe her sister one bit, hopefully she would try to reconcile her relationship with Lance, and things would go smoothly.
What a FANTASTIC story, this was GREAT AND SCARY from beginning to end, so happy that Cassandra's life has changed for the better, and to think they met while being sick at the hospital...true love is found at the most random places... *happy sigh*
Thank you SO much for the update!
THIS! :D His mouth took hers in an all-devouring kiss as her arms wrapped around his neck.
LOVE!
Ok, now let me get back down from Cloud 9, lolz from the top..rather surprising that Cassandra got the PR job and not clerical, I love that JC wants to get the best for her... :) But OMG working for *NSYNC is like absolutely every fans dream..*squeal*
Now, on to the part where that PSYCHO Thomas shows up?? Why is back?? Didn't the cops take him away?? AHHH! I really think if Cassandra told Marissa about what was really going on b/tween her and Thomas from the very beginning, Marissa wouldn't have gotten so rebellious...but I'm also glad that Cassandra told her now along with JC, I hope Marissa gets to her senses and doesn't go out with Thomas, because I think Lance and her are good together...
Good update! Looking forward for more... :)
Author's Response: Thank you so much! You have been very generous with your reviews! I'm so glad you've enjoyed the story.
FINALLY THEY MADE LOVE! I have been WAITING for this moment, I'm grinning like a fool right now..LOL But so glad that Cassandra told JC that she never made love before, she was only violated by that creep Thomas, HMPH!
And love that Lance and Marissa are getting along yay! :D Earlier in this chapter, these lines here: He left his hand resting on her leg, and quickly she relaxed at the feel of his hand on her. She allowed her mind to wander a bit as she looked down at his large hand. What would it feel like if he allowed it to roam over her body? She swallowed hard at the image. Visibly, she shook her head, trying not to allow those thoughts to invade her brain. JC was a good friend, nothing more.
Uh huh, sure..let's remain friends.. ;)
I love that JC showed her though what making love is really about..how beautiful! *happy sigh*
I SO laughed at these lines here: “Sorry, JC. That isn’t going to fly! You get your scrawny ass over here, and you do it now.” LOL
Awesome chapter, love love! :D Thanks for the update.. :)
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter. I've just updated with a new chapter. I hope you like it! :)
Author's Response: It was a tough chapter to write, too. I'm sorry it turned your stomach, though. The way you "saw" it is exactly the way I was able to write it - I had to visualize it as it went. Thank you for your feedback. :)
YES! GO GET LANCE! So that way Marissa won't be left out.. :D
But OMG! WTF THAT CRAZY THOMAS SHIZNET, SO GLAD HE'S FREAKIN GONE! He better NOT be back! Or else I would blow his head! BOOM!
These lines here: GO JC GO! Now, if you don’t shut the hell up, I might just have to crush your windpipe with my foot! Any questions?”
HA! So freakin happy that JC beat up Thomas! Poor Cassandra, she's been through so much, and now that JC is there to comfort her...
Now, I think Lynette should go with Justin, maybe they'll be good together... :)
Awesome chapter and great update! :D
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I love writing JC as a badass! :)
I found Marissa’s reaction to JC quite amusing, though it was sweet how he took it in stride and acted like the perfect gentleman. It was also funny how JC answered Cass’s questions for her at the interview and Johnny had to (almost literally) kick him out.
I loved Joey’s cameo appearance, too. The fact that he’s with Suzie, of all people, definitely perks my interest. It’s like, “Okay, buddy, what’s going on here?” The next chapter I have GOT to see.
Author's Response: I'm glad you've enjoyed it so far. I will admit, Joey doesn't make an appearance in Chapter 10. But, neither does Suzie! LOL I still hope you enjoy it. Thank you for reading!
WOW! That was some twist..who would've thought, Joey of all people, but hmm..maybe Suzie was leading him on, or something..
But earlier in this chapter, these lines here: “Oh, my God!” She squealed. “You’re not JC. You’re JC! Oh, my God!” LOL I would be excited too if JC went into my house like that..but then I would've calmed down after a while..
And during the Cassandra and Johnny interview, JC, you don't have to be so pushy, Cassandra can speak for herself, jeez! Thanks Johnny.. :)
Good chapter, looking forward for more...
Author's Response: Thank you! This was a fun chapter to write. I loved the interaction between JC and Johnny and the reaction of Marissa I thought would be typical of me! LOL I really hope you enjoy the rest of the story. There's only a few chapters left! :)
HA! These lines here: He was a very handsome bulldozer, but one just the same..
Its a little thing we call love, or just an innocent crush.. ;) Its a beautiful feeling.. *happy sigh*
Anyways, would like if Cassandra does take the job at WEG, clerical stuff may be good for her, that way she can get away from creepy Thomas, and I liked that Justin was also trying to help her out as well, aww come on JC, don't be jealous, Justin may have a point.. :P
Good chapter, looking forward for more... :D Thanks for all the updates though!
Author's Response: Thank you so much for your reviews! I'm so glad you're enjoying the story. Yes, indeed, JC is a very handsome bulldozer! I do believe he could move heaven and earth if he were so inclined. I've been offline for a bit, but am very grateful for your opinions. I hope you keep enjoying the story - there are still a few chapters left! :)
OOOH! THIS IS GETTING SO GOOD! AHH!
THIS: YES JC TELL HER! “You know, Cassandra. I don’t know what kind of power this asshole has over you, but I can tell you it is going to stop right here and now! You don’t honestly expect that I will take you back there and let you deal with this idiot on your own, do you? Give me a break! I walked out on you once tonight, I sure as hell am not going to do it a second time.”
Yeah Cassandra needs to back off from that JERK Thomas, he's a complete IDIOT UGH!!! HOW DARE HE?!
Ooh! I SO loved these lines here: “JC, don’t do this. Let it go.” She pleaded with him. “No chance, honey! This one’s going down! I will not tolerate any man hitting on a woman.” “You aren’t man enough to stop me!”“Watch me!” WOOT! WOOT! :D
One creepy yet ignorant man fighting with an amazingly hot singer for a damsel in distress..now Thomas reminds me of Gaston from Beauty and the Beast..Thomas is the monster..I remember Belle goes to Gaston referring to the Beast "He's no monster Gaston, you are!" One of my fave movies.. :D
Anyways, great chapter! Would read more soon!
*GASP* Why the very NERVE of that man, let me at him! I have a clear picture in my mind on how that Thomas freak looks like, a sleazy business man with a suit, does he have a suit?! HMPH!
So glad that JC showed up there and helped Cassandra out.. :) *reads next chapter*
39 years, wow-wee. It seems like only yesterday we were watching the guys in their teens and 20s. Nice way to commemorate JC’s special day, too.
“He held it to his ear and muttered some unintelligible greeting into the mouthpiece.” Oh boy, don’t you just love a call first thing in the morning?
Maybe Justin went a little too far with that joke, but on the other hand, JC didn’t need to take it so personally. It’s like, “Dude, take a Chill Pill.”
JC may claim to only like Cass as a friend, but I can read between the lines. He’s totally gone soft for the girl. Now what are we to do with Suzie? “She was convinced they were inseparable. There had been several times that she had even discussed marriage with JC. He always managed to quell those conversations, but the thought was always in the back of her mind.” Goes to show that women can be every bit as arrogant and possessive as men, which I think is a clever touch on your part.
“Sometimes you can’t see the writing on the wall when it’s right in front of your face.” That’s so true about so many of us; it’s scary.
And what a way (in a nice way) to end the chapter: ”She had the strangest feeling that she had just been run over by a bulldozer. He was a very handsome bulldozer, but one just the same.” Badda-boom! :D
Well, my friend, I think it’s safe to say I’ll be keeping an eye out for further updates. Take your time, of course, but now I really do want to know where this is all gonna go.
Author's Response: Thank you for so many reviews! I have been offline for a bit and missed these. I truly appreciate you taking the time to read each chapter and offering me these comments. I hope the story is coming along the way you were thinking. I do enjoy writing and it's made more enjoyable by knowing others enjoy reading it. Again, thank you very much!
Ahh, now we see Thomas in his true colors. Few things are as sad as seeing a man shaming a woman, of a woman being horribly abused and feeling like there’s nothing she can do about it and no one to turn to. That’s harsh.
Thank heaven for someone like JC. Who knows where Cass would be by now had he not entered the picture? Sometimes a woman really does need a knight in shining armor. Sometimes you simply can’t do it alone, no matter how much you insist you can. Even the strongest people in the world need a shoulder to lean on every now and again.
I admire the way Cass tries to stand up to Thomas. But it still goes to my heart to see how he manages to maintain the upper hand. And with Suzie in the mix? Mmm-mmm, all I can say is the fat’s really getting in the fire now.
Jealousy is a crazy thing, mate. But it’s sweet to see how much JC has grown to care so much for Cass in such a short time. After all, he wouldn’t fuss so much if he didn’t care.
And boy, oh boy, is the suspense ever mounting. I think it was brilliant for you to have voices in the dark; it’s much more intimidating that way. Now Cass is really starting to pluck at my heartstrings, too.
Now things are really getting interesting here. I can understand JC’s frustration, and at the same time I totally get how Cass is reluctant to bring the truth to light. After all, how do you bring up ugly truths, and how can you truly help someone when you don’t know what’s going on? That’s what I like about certain stories, where there are no easy answers and you can’t side with just one person.
And for the record, I won’t expect you to review my stories in exchange for my reviews. Sorry if that came out the wrong way.
You do a great job with the suspense, and the tension between JC and Cass (hope you don’t mind that I call her that) is very tangible. I “aww”-ed at the way he carried her to the couch when she got a dizzy spell, and when he comforted her after her terrible dream.
Also, I got a chuckle out of “Here I’ve slaved over a hot cardboard container to fix you one of the finest meals money can buy, and you’re going to refuse to eat it? I don’t believe I can tolerate that!” I’ll repeat what I said before; your dialogue is easily one of the best aspects of the story.
