What an interesting concept. I’d definitely love to see this for the rest of the 3 guys, since we have a great Chris one already. I’d also love to see an expansion of this one. That last line? I’m not even sure I truly understood what it meant.

Thank you! I have written more to this. It's posted on Ao3 under the name author name. I will get it moved over here when the challenge is over. The last line basically is Lance saying that he would never love his soulmate (whoever had his matching mark) like he would love JC. He's in love with JC.

super interesting concept! there’s a movie from a few years ago that is premised around a similar idea. i can’t remember the name for anything, but now i want to find it again. this would make for a fascinating longer story!

I'm not sure I will dive into this universe any further. I did write a lot more on this story. It ended up being 6000 words, but I only used the opening for this challenge. The whole thing is posted on Ao3 same author name. I will eventually post the rest of it here once the challenge is over. I've come to the conclusion I can't write 1000 words.

I really enjoyed this concept and I like that you put it through Lance's eyes. I can see how anyone in his position would feel kind of branded when having a soulmate mark rather than it being what it is. The last line just about killed me. Hell, reading each of their views on their soulmate marks killed me in different ways. I loved this so much, thanks for sharing with us! Your writing is amazing as always!

Author's Response: I read a story about soulmates on Ao3 awhile ago. I've been wanting to do my own version of it. It was really hard to adhere to only 1000 words! Thank you for your kind words.

Ooo that last line was killer! I like it. I also liked the line about irony of making him gay and putting him in a boy band.
