I think this is a story worth finishing. It is so original!

Author's Response:

Thanks!! I've always planned to finish it; it's just a matter of having the time and inspiration - so keep checking back!

"The Virgin General"  hahaha...love it!

Woah.

So, I saw this in the recently updated section and had to see what it was about because I've got a story based on "Assassin" as well and wanted to see someone elses take on it. This is the kind of story that I would've written about it if I could actually write this kind of stuff. And even if I had, it wouldn't be anywhere close to how fantastic this is! I absolutely love the details that you show and the background that you've given in this first chapter. A lot of the history and interworkings remind me of the Sookie Stackhouse novels, but then again, there's only so many ways to write about vampire history.

I LOVELOVELOVE this. So much!

omg...where have I been this whole time that I didn't know about this story!?  Wow...that's all I can say.  Wow.  You're writing is so eloquent and descriptive.  Very dark and sensual (which is only appropriate with the theme and characters!).  I love the idea of JC as a vampire (heaven knows the man's pale enough he really COULD be one!  lol).  One to chapter 2!  :)

I couldn't help but notice that this story is patterned after the Anne Rice vampires with a hint of the Charlaine Harris ones. That said, I think you've made it your own but not enough to make me feel like it could stand outside their construction of the vampire mythology. I do like your character construction, they make for interesting reads.

Author's Response:
Interesting comparison. I can't really argue with you about if that's accurate or not, because I've never read any of the Anne Rice books, and only the first one of the Charlaine Harris books, so I don't know what the characteristics of those vampires were. I can imagine that there'd be some similarities. There's only so many way to write about a vampire before characteristics overlap. Of course stories are going to have things in common. Actually, my vampires more follow the rules of "Claudia Gray meets Richelle Mead", or so I thought anyway. But remember that above all, the point of the story isn't about JC being a vampire, it's about the internal struggle with love, eternity, and how the way you treat others comes full circle.
