Author's Response: I tend to love the idea of being in the present and flashing back, I may actually do it too often. But after all we learn from our choices or our heartache of the past and it makes us who we are today.I really wish I would have held on to this story a little while longer and possibly used it as my Secret Santa, but I couldn’t wait to share it!

Because...obviously, I loved it. I mean, it’s your work, how can I not? The air of mystery from beginning to end is just perfect. We plan down to the last detail of Christmas, awaiting the unknown. What will I get? What will I give? What will the new year bring? All that lovely stuff, so hats off to the mystery. Now, your impeccable use of imagery and description was just mind-blowing. You truly set up the scene as if the reader was right there. Being able to create the atmosphere is a true talent; it’s no easy feat. It was a rollercoaster of emotions that kept me on edge, so bravo. I loved it.

The underlining mystery with the two of them is something I was worried wouldn’t come across but it seems like it did.
