I'm really enjoying this story so far. Your characters are well developed and believable. Your portrayal of self harm is delicate and not over the top and hits well on mental health issues. I think your portrayal of JC is great and a lot how I imagine he could be in real life. Bravo, looking forward to the next update! :-)

Author's Response: Yay!  Thank you for checking it out and reviewing.  Glad you're enjoying it so far.  I hope I continue to do the characters and the story justice.  :)

I am thoroughly enjoying this story. I haven't read anything in a long time on NF and this randomly caught my attention. Then voila, this became featured shortly afterward. I know how to choose 'em I guess, lol.

Anyway, I'm very intrigued by the relationship between the two characters. I'm desperate in wanting to know about her past. Mostly because I want to know what caused her so much pain.

Thanks for your hard work, can't wait for the next chapter!

Author's Response:

WooHoo!  So glad you are enjoying the story.  I'm pretty new to the site but I keep discovering great stories and great writers.

More to be revealed soon as to Charlie's painful past as well as some guest apperances.  ;)

Thank you for reviewing!

This chapter got me excited for what would be happening in the next one.

The Beauty and the Beast/Stockholm Syndrome was probably my favorite part though because that's also my favorite Disney movie haha

Great job!

Author's Response:

Yay!  Glad you're liking it!

Beauty and the Beast is my fav too!

I do like the way her secrets are slowly starting to come out. I laughed at the poking the bear line. I'm curious about the locked door and the possible other job though, look forward to more!

Author's Response:

Why thank you!  Gotta give everyone just enough to keep them coming back.  :)

I've been on a kick lately at work saying "don't poke the bear" so I worked it into my story.  I'm such a dork!

Wow, this was a great first chapter! It left me wanting to know more about Charlie's backstory. Awesome job!

Author's Response: Glad you're enjoying it so far.  There is a lot more to come with her backstory.  Bit by bit, it will all be revieled.  :)  Thanks!

How sweet is he with her even though he's freaking out internally? Also, holy unnecessary escalation Deputy Dog. That dude is insane. Looking forward to more!

Author's Response:

Thank you!

That damn Matt may have ruined everything.  ;)

More soon I promise.

Dammit Matt! Hate him!

Keep it up, really enjoying this story!

Author's Response:

I know!  2 scenes and you just can't help but hate the guy.

More to come soon!  Thanks for stopping by.

ha! i totally thought it was matt! i'm really curious as to when and how he's going to pop back in...and what jc and charlie are going to do about that. it's so sweet that he left her a note...and that she kept it.

Author's Response:

Matt's around that sneaky little bastard.  :)

The note was kinda cute though.  I would so keep that note too!  LOL.

Thank you checking out my story.  I'm so glad your enjoying it.

Charlie is the best. I LOVE her character! Keep this up! It's SO good!

Author's Response: Thank you!!!  EEEEEKKKK!  I love writing this story.  Work and writing have consumed my life and I love it.  I hope I do her character development justice.

LadyX (Signed) on Jun 12, 2016 10:29 am (Chapter 5)
Yay! They kissed...a little. I really liked the shotgun scene, thought it was funny. I like Charlie's personality and your interpretation of JCs too. Thanks for the update!

Author's Response:

*insert evil laugh*  Hahaha, it was a little bit of a tease with the brief kiss.  Slowly but surely, I promise.  ;)

I enjoyed writing the shotgun scene.  Starting to show some of Charlie's true personality behind her facade.

More soon!  Thanks Lady!

I'm so glad you updated! I really like where this is going :) And congrats on Story of the Month! We're so glad you're here!

Author's Response:

I've been itching to update but got wrapped in life.  It felt good to get another chapter posted.

Thanks for checking it out.

LadyX (Signed) on Jun 08, 2016 08:39 am (Chapter 4)
Great update. I did really think that it would be Deputy Dog that caught them. Also, congrats on being story of the month; you deserve it!

Author's Response:

Lol, I considered it but I've got other plans for the deputy.  :)

Thanks for reviewing and I can't tell you how giddy I got when I was asked to be story of the month!  I was at work when I got the email and spazzed out like a teenager.  Lol.

I love Charlie! Post more soon :)

Author's Response:

I'm loving writing Charlie.  I hope I'm able to properly portray how I envision her personality in my head into words.

Thanks for the review!

he's getting under her skin, and i like it. ;-) i'm also really, really looking forward to getting into charlie's head more. what are her secrets?

also, there are a few topics i get very...uncomfortable with in fanfiction. they're potentially triggering and i find that a lot of people aren't capable of handling them with delicacy and nuance and...experience...they require. i know that sounds pretty obnoxious because who am i to tell someone what they can or cannot write about. all of that said, i'm very impressed with the way you've introduced charlie's self-harming. it's not  heavy-handed or melodramatic. great job.

Author's Response:

Wow, thank you for your response.  It truly means a lot to me.  I knew the subject of self harming could be a touchy one.  The subject of mental health is one that I take very seriously.  It's a part of Charlie that the readers need to know but it by no means defines her; it's one of the many layers of her.  People who live with mental health issues can be productive, contributing members of society while navigating through their way through trying times.  Okay, I went off on a tangent.  My apologies.  :)

You by no means came across as obnoxious and I again thank you for comments.  I appreciate that you feel I have handled the subject respectfully.
