Chapter 1            It was Mid-summer and there were people everywhere.  Bailey was driving down the road in her convertible with the top down.  Even though it was early morning it was still fairly hot outside.  She was on her way to work, she couldn’t help but smile.  She had left behind everything she had known to come here and make something of herself.  She had landed her dream job, she had a house and a nice car, plus as an added bonus a really great guy, she had meet through work asked her out.  Life seemed to be perfect, but no one knew that she was hiding one of the biggest secrets of her life.            It was so hard especially after she found out that this guy wanted to date her.  This man was smart, funny and cute.  She couldn’t ask for more, she was going to tell him everything.  Just not until she figured out the best way to break it to him.              “Good morning Bailey.” The secretary said.  Bailey smiled and waved, then headed straight for her office.  She opened the door and found a dozen red roses sitting on the desk.  She smiled and read the card; Dear Bailey, I hope you I like them, there almost a beautiful as you are.  Sincerely, Chris.  Bailey set the flowers aside so she could work.  She had just turned on the computer and was just about to get to work when her phone rang.            “Hello, this Bailey how may I help you?” She asked.  “Do you always answer the phone like that?” He asked.  “Well, baby, this is my work number.” Bailey explained.  “Oh, I see.  Did you get the flowers?” Chris asked.  “Yes, I got them and it’s very nice of you.” Bailey said.  “I just want you to know your the best thing to happen to this company and to me.” Chris said sweetly.  Bailey blushed, “You’re too much, when can I see you again?”             “How about tonight after you get off work?” Chris asked sounding hopeful.  “That’s great, listen, baby, there is something I have to tell you tonight.  It’s important.” Bailey explained getting very serious, but she figure she had to tell him soon or he just might figure it out on his own.  “What is it?” Chris asked sounding worried.  “I don’t want to tell over the phone, I’ll tell you at dinner tonight, it’s not that bad.” Bailey lied, but she didn’t want him to worry about it all day.  “Okay, I’ll look forward to seeing you later.” Chris said, “I have to go now.  Bye Bailey.”            Chris hung up the cell phone and looked at the other members of the group.  “I can’t believe your dating our Graphic Designer.” JC said.  Chris just smiled.  “Isn’t she like half your age?” Lance asked.  “No, she 21.” Chris replied. “Yeah and that means you were 12 when she was born.” Justin remarked jokingly.  “Your all just jealous, because she hot, talented, young, and all mine.” Chris said crossing his arms across his chest.            “Whatever dude.” Justin said.  “I am a little worried though she said there was something she wanted to tell me tonight, she sounded serious.” Chris said deep in thought.  Justin looked over at him, “Do you have any idea what it is?” He asked sounding a little worried.  “If I knew I wouldn’t be worried about it.” Chris said leaning back in his chair.  “I’m sure it won’t be harmful to your relationship.” Joey said.  “Are you kidding she a woman, if she won’t tell you over the phone then it's bad news for both of you.” Justin snapped.              “You sound experienced.”  Lance said.  “More than you know, don’t we have work to be doing?” Justin asked trying to change the subject.  “Yeah, tons of work to do.” JC said.  With that they all went to work, the new album was do out in a few months and they had to start recording.              At about five o’clock Chris got up.  “Do you think we can stop for today, I’m taking Bailey out for dinner?” Chris asked getting his coat on, he was leaving no matter what they said.  “Yeah, man go.  Let us know what happens.” JC said.  “I will, I just hope it’s not bad.” Chris said then left.  He stopped by his house to change into something a little nicer then called Bailey to tell her he was on her way.  She sounded a little shaky over the phone and the worried Chris even more.            When he pulled up to her house she met him at the door.  They kissed passionately.  “Is everything alright?” He asked.  “Yes, Chris everything is going to be okay.  I love you.” Bailey said looking him right in the eyes.  “This is serious isn’t it?” Chris asked holding her hand.  “Not now, Chris at the restaurant, I promise.” Bailey said as they started for the car.  “I want you to know that no matter what it is, it won’t change my feelings for you.” Chris said opening her door for her.  “It won’t change my feelings either, now get in the car, and don’t worry about it.  It’s not bad I promise.” Bailey said.  She kissed him again then slipped into the car.  Chris quickly went around and got in.            No one said another word until they were at the restaurant.  They were seated in a private booth.  Once the waiter left with their drink orders, Chris put his elbows on the table and rested his chin on his hands as if him was bracing himself for a serious blow.  Bailey looked at him and smiled, she loved how he gave her so much attention.              “Please baby, tell me.  You’re driving me nuts.” Chris begged.  “Okay, now Chris this isn’t easy for me.  I know we’ve only been dating a month and a half now, but I really love you.” Bailey said then took a deep breath.  “I love you too, ever since we first meet, 6 months ago.” Chris replied trying to reassure her.  “When I came to Orlando I was scared , then I got the job with Johnny and Jive.  I knew everything was going to be okay.” She paused as the waiter came back with their drinks.  She took a sip of her coke.  “I thought maybe you would get wine.” Chris said making an observation.  Bailey shook her head, “No, not today.”             “Any way go on.” Chris said taking a drink.  “Okay, let me put it this way, I made a mistake, a big mistake.  I hope it won’t hurt our relationship, but I know it will change some things between us.  When I came here I didn’t know anybody, but I became involved with a man.” Bailey said pausing for a moment.  “But everybody told me you were single.” Chris said.  “I was single, I mean, me and this guy weren’t dating.  I guess you could say he was taking advantage of me because I didn‘t know better at the time.  He never took me out or really did anything nice for me.” Bailey explained.            Chris could tell this wasn’t easy for her.  “Just spit it out baby.” Chris begged.  Bailey took a deep breath.  “Chris, I’m pregnant.” Bailey said then looked down at the table as if ashamed.  Chris about choked.  “But, it’s not mine because we haven’t, you know.” Chris said.  “I know it’s not yours, it’s that other guy’s, I broke it off with him the day I found out you liked me and were going to ask me out.  Then a few weeks ago I found out I was pregnant.” She said looking back a him.            “I thought you were gaining weight.” Chris said, “ But this other guy, did you tell him?”  “Yeah, I told him, he denied it and says he wants nothing to do with the baby.” Bailey explained.  “And you know it’s his without a doubt?” Chris asked.  Bailey looked at him shocked.  “Chris, this guy is the only man I’ve been with, until 3 months ago I was a virgin.  But he said things and somehow got me to forget everything and sleep with him.  He was manipulative and now he’s a jerk.  He knows this baby is his he just doesn’t want to hurt his tough guy image.” Bailey explained sounding more than a little mad.            “Who is this guy, I can help get a lawyer.” Chris said.  “No, if he doesn’t want to be a part of this baby’s life, then that’s fine with me.  I’m not going to force him, I don’t need him.” Bailey said sounding very sure of herself.  “Look I admire you being an independent woman and all, but what about the baby.  It’s needs a father.” Chris explained.  “Well I was hoping one day if everything goes well, it would have a wonderful step-father.” Bailey said looking at Chris.  Her green eyes said it all.            “That guy is a jerk and if I force him to be a father he’ll never be a good father.” Bailey said.  Chris slide around the booth to set next to her.  Chris placed his hand on her stomach.  “Won’t you at least to tell who he is, just for my knowledge.” Chris asked.  Bailey shook her head.  “I’m not afraid to admit it’s my baby, he shouldn’t be either.  If he wants to be known that’s his choice.  But I’ll take it to my grave if he wants to remain anonymous.” Bailey explained.  “That’s not what I wanted to hear, but I admire that.” Chris said then kissed her again.            “This isn’t going to hurt us is it?” She asked looking him in the eyes.  “It’s like you said, it’s just a change.  I still love you.” Chris said with a smile.  He couldn’t admit that he wasn’t okay with this, but he did still love her. They cuddled for the longest time and neither one said a word, Bailey could tell Chris was processing the whole thing.  “Are you really okay, Baby?” She asked.  Chris blinked a couple times.  “Yeah, I’m okay, it’s just a lot to take in.” Chris explained.            “What are you thinking about?” Bailey asked.  “To be honest I want to know who this guys is and how he could do this to you and the baby, I mean just leave you hanging like that.  It’s not right.” Chris said taking a bite of his food.  “It’s his choice, maybe he’ll come around.” Bailey explained.  “But what if he doesn’t, what about the baby.” Chris said not looking at her.  Bailey could tell this was going to be hard for Chris.  The two finished their dinner then Chris dropped her off at home.  “Chris, be careful on your way back.”’ She said.  “I will, you take care too.” He added then kissed her.
