Change of Heart

Part 1            Chris sat quietly; he smiled as he looked down at the letter in his hand.  “What’s up?” Justin asked.  “My new girlfriend is coming to see me.” Chris said looking at him.  “Really, what’s her name?” Justin asked.  “Elena.” Chris said.  “When’s she coming?” JC asked.  “In a week.” Chris said.  “Great, I’ll invite Hannah over too.  That way they can hang out together while we work.” JC said.  “That’s a good idea.” Chris said.  “Doesn’t Lance have a new girlfriend too?” Justin asked.  “I think so.” JC said.  “Maybe Lance should invite her too.” Justin said.  “Yeah, maybe we can all invite our girlfriends to visit.” JC said.  “You know I don’t have one.” Justin said still rather upset about his break up with Brittany.  “Elena has a friend she can hook you up with.” Chris said.            “I can find my own girlfriend, thank you.” Justin said.  “Fine, you need one by next week.” Chris said.  “What?  I’m too busy there’s no way I can find one before then with this schedule we have.” Justin said.  “It’s the summer you know we’re busy in the summer.” JC said.  “Fine Chris hook me up, with what’s her name’s friend.” Justin said.  Lance walked in and sat down beside JC.  “What’s going on?” Lance asked.  “Lance you have a girlfriend right?” JC asked.  “Yeah, why?” Lance asked.  “We are all going to invite our girlfriends to visit us on tour for a week or two.” Chris said.  “Um, I don’t know if Calista can, but I’ll ask her.” Lance said.              “What about Joey?” Justin asked.  “What about him.  He’s never had a hard time finding a girlfriend.” JC said.  They all laughed.  “True, but who’s his fling this week?” Lance asked.  ‘I think he just met a girl the other day that he rather likes.” Chris said. “What’s her name?” Lance asked.  “I’m not sure, I didn’t catch it.” Chris said.  Joey walked in; he stuffed a Twinkie in his mouth.  “Hey, Joe what’s your new flings name?” Justin asked.  Joey swallowed and then ran his hand over his mouth to clean it off.  He thought for a minute.  “I can’t remember, but she was real cute and real nice.” Joey said.              “You like a girl but you can’t remember her name?” Lance asked.  “Yeah,” Joey said blushing.  He reached in his pocket and frantically looked for something.  Soon he pulled out a piece of paper.  “Reneé, that’s it.  Here’s her number.” Joey said eyeing the paper.  “Then call her.  We’re all having girls over next week to tour with us for a while.” JC said.  “Cool that would be awesome.” Joey said.  “So that’s what we’re doing?” Chris asked.  “Yeah, so you call your woman and tell her to bring one of her hot friends.” Justin said.  “Okay, but you better be nice to whoever she brings.” Chris said.  “I’m always nice to the ladies.” Justin said.  “Whatever.” Chris said walking away.  They quickly went about the day’s events and then later that night they called the girls up.              Lance went into his hotel room and lay across the bed.  He picked up his cell phone and then dialed the number.  It rang a few times and then he heard her pick up the phone and then Calista’s sweet voice come over the phone.  “Hi, baby.” Lance said in his deep voice.  “Hi, Lance.  I missed you.” Calista said.  Lance smiled.  “I wanted to see if you could come see me on tour next week.” Lance said.  “I would love to come see you.” Calista said softly.  “Great, all of us are having girlfriends over.  So you can hang out together while we work.” Lance said.  “But I want to spend time with you.” Calista whined.  “You will, just not all the time.  You know I’m a very busy person.” Lance said.  “I know.  Are the others’ girlfriends nice?” She asked. “I’m not sure.  Most of them have got new girlfriends.  So I haven’t met them yet.  I guess we’ll find out together.” Lance said.  “I guess.” Calista said.  “I really should be going.  I have so much to do tomorrow.” Lance said.  “Okay, I will see you soon.” Calista said.  Lance said good bye and then hung up.  He hated doing that to her but he knew if he didn’t he would talk to her all night.            He laid back and thought about her.  She meant the world to him even though they had only been dating a short time.  Calista was a lot different that the other girls he dated.  And that made Lance wander what the other’s would think when they met her.              Mean while across the hall in JC’s room he was on the phone too.  “I missed the sound of your voice.” Hannah said.  “Did you just miss the sound of my voice?” JC asked.  “Well I missed the rest of you too.” Hannah said.  “I thought so.” JC said.  “Are you calling me just to torment me or did you have a reason?” Hannah asked.  “Torment you how, baby?” JC asked.  “You know I want to be with you, but you’re touring, remember.” Hannah said.  “I remember, but how would you like to come see me on tour?” JC asked.  “Are you kidding?  I would love that.” Hannah said.  “Would you now.  How about next week?”  JC asked.  “I think I can come.” Hannah said.  “Good all of us are going to have girlfriends over.” JC said.  “Sounds like fun, that way we can sit around and talk about you while you’re working.” Hannah said.  “Yeah.” JC said.  “I bet you have a busy day tomorrow.” Hannah said.  “Yeah, I better go.  I’ll see you next week right?” JC asked.  “Yeah, I’ll see you next week.  Good night sweetheart.” Hannah said and then hung up.  JC smiled and then rolled over and fell fast asleep.            The next day Joey was in a good mood.  The other’s could not figure out why, they were going to have a photo shoot most of the day and then a concert later that night.  “Are you on crack?” Chris asked.  Joey looked at him funny. “ No, Reneé is coming.” Joey said.  “You must really like this girl.” JC said.  “I think I do, I’m scared.  I’ve never felt this way before.” Joey said.  “Joey, you scare me.” Justin said.  “That reminds me, I need to call Elena.  I couldn’t get a hold of her last night.” Chris said.  “Joey scaring me reminds you to call your woman?” Justin asked.  “No, Joey talking about Reneé reminded me.” Chris said getting his cell phone out.              He quickly dialed the number.  “Hi, Elena?” Chris asked.  “Hi, baby.  Your timing is good; I just got out of the shower.” Elena said.  “Really?” Chris said.  “Get your mind out of the gutter; I'm dressed already.” Elena said.  “Oh, any way you’re coming next week right?” Chris asked.  “Yeah.” She said.  “I was wandering if you could bring a friend with you.” Chris said.  “I guess I can why?” Elena asked.  “Well we’re all having girlfriends over next week and Justin is a loser and he can’t get a girlfriend, so could you hook him up?” Chris asked.  “What?” Justin yelled.  Justin got up and went over to Chris.  “I’m not a loser.’ Justin yelled.  Elena laughed she could hear Justin in the background.  “Any way, can you?” Chris asked.  “Yeah not a problem.” Elena said.  “Tell her to bring a hot friend.” Justin said.              “Would you go away!” Chris said waving his hand at the younger man.  “No, let me talk to her.” Justin said.  “In your dreams.” Chris said.  Soon Justin tackled Chris while trying to get the phone away from him.  They rolled around on the ground for awhile.  JC got up and calmly took the phone away from both of them. He put it to his ear.  “Hello?” JC asked.  “Hi.  Who’s this?” Elena asked.  “This is JC.” He said.  “What’s going on over there?” Elena asked.  “Justin tackled Chris; it’s nothing to worry about.” JC said.  “Oh, he better not hurt him.” Elena said.  “So what is it you see in Chris any way?” JC asked.  “He’s funny and he has a nice butt.” Elena said.  JC laughed.  Finally Justin got up and took the phone from JC.  Chris tried to get up but Joey grabbed the back of his shirt and brought him to a stop a few feet from Justin.  “Let the boy talk.” Joey said.            “Hi, this is Justin.  I’m not a loser.” Justin said.  “Okay.” Elena said.  “So tell me about your friend.” Justin said.  Elena thought for a minute.  “She tall, thin and blonde.  She’s really hot.” Elena said.  “Really?” Justin asked.  “No, but I thought it sounded good.” Elena said.  “That’s real cute, now I know why you and Chris get along so well.  What’s she really like?” Justin asked.  “You’ll see when we get there.  But believe me you won’t be disappointed.” She said.  “Tell me.” Justin whined.  “Okay, Chris you can go get him.” Joey said letting go of Chris’s shirt.  Chris quickly took the phone away from him.  “Who wants to talk to her any way?” Justin said giving the phone up and then walking away.  “I’m sorry about that.” Chris said.  “It’s all right, the others seem nice.” Elena said.  “They’re not.  So I’ll see you Sunday?” Chris asked.  “Yeah we’ll be there.” Elena said.  “My battery is about to die.  I better go.  See you then.” Chris said and then his phone went dead.  “I hate when that happens.” Lance said.  Chris just looked at him.            “So it’s all set up now right?” Joey asked.  “Right.” Chris said.  “They’ll all be here Sunday.’ Lance said.  “Well Reneé won’t.  She has to work.  She’ll be here Monday morning.” Joey said eating Twinkies again.  “How many of those things do you eat a day?” JC asked.  “I don’t know.” Joey said.  “Chris you don’t talk much about Elena.  What’s she like?” JC asked as the bus moved down the road.   “Why, what do you want to know?” Chris asked.  “Well if we’re going to meet her we should know a little about her.” JC said.            “Okay, well now she lives in New York.  She is very interesting.” Chris said.  “Define interesting.” Lance said.  “Well I met her at a New York Nightclub, where she works.  We were bumping and grinding all night.  She’s fairly out going and not afraid to express herself.” Chris said.  “How old is she?” Justin asked.  “19” Chris said in a low voice.  “So you like them young?” Joey asked winking at Chris.  Chris just smiled and blushed.  “What about your girl?” Chris asked regaining himself.  “Reneé, she’s um...” Joey said trailing off as he searched fro the right words.  “She’s hard to describe let’s just say she’s a good small town girl, not like what I normally date.” Joey said.  “What kind of answer is that?” Chris asked.  “It’s a good one.” JC said.  “Wait a minute, I tell the whole story and he gets away with telling us nothing about her or how they meet?” Chris asked.  “Yeah, well you’re an idiot.” Lance joked.              “Are you hiding something?” Chris asked.  “No, I just think we should move on.” Lance said.  “Tell us about Calista.” Justin said.  “There are no words that would do her justice.” Lance said boldly.  With that the conversation moved on.
