A few weeks later the guys went on break in Orlando.  Joey was happy because he would get to see Reneé again.  “Are you going out with Calista, tonight?” Joey asked.  Lance looked up.  “I was planning to but I called her and she said she was sick and wanted to stay in tonight.” Lance said.  “That’s girls for you.  They get the sniffles and then they don’t want to do anything.” JC said.  “Yeah, I’ll call her tomorrow and see how she is doing.” Lance said getting back to reading the papers he had in front of him.  “What about the rest of you?” Joey asked slipping his jacket on.  “We’re just going to take it easy.” Justin said.              “Yeah our girls live in New York.” Chris said.  “We’ll be back up that way in a few days.” JC said.  “I know but I want to see her now.” Chris wined.  “You poor man.” Joey laughed.  He smiled and then got his keys.  “Well I’m going out with Reneé tonight so don’t wait up.” Joey said and then was out the door.              As Joey got closer to the club he spotted Reneé leaning up against the wall.  A few men approached her and Joey watched as she brushed them away.  “Hey, baby.  Mind if you walk you in?” Joey asked offering her his arm.  “I don’t know I’m waiting for my boyfriend.” Reneé said playfully.  “Really what does he look like; maybe I can help you find him.” Joey said with a smiled.  “Well he a big guy, really strong and very good looking.” Reneé said bring him in for a kiss.  Joey laughed once they broke away from the kiss.  “You ready to go in?” He asked.  “Yeah, but I thought you said you were going to see if Lance and Calista wanted to come?” Reneé asked.              “Well, Lance said that they were going to go out but Calista said she was sick and wanted to stay home tonight.” Joey said.  “Oh, poor Lance.  I bet he was heart broken.” Reneé said.  “He seemed to be taking it well.” Joey said as they walked inside.  Once inside they quickly started to dance.  After about an hour they took a seat at the bar and cool off.  Reneé was sitting there sipping the soda Joey had bought her when she saw some one out to the corner of her eye.  At first she thought she was seeing things, but then the couple moved into the clear.            “Joey, Lance said Calista was sick right?” Reneé asked.  “Yeah, why?” Joey asked.  “Well I think she got to feeling better.”  Reneé said pointing onto the dance floor where Calista was dancing with another man.  Joey turned and watched them for a minute.  “Maybe they’re just friends or something.” Joey said trying not to believe what he was seeing.  Reneé figured that had to be it and so went back to drink her coke.              Later they decided to hit the dance floor one more time before calling it a night.  A slow song came on and Reneé rested her head against Joey’s strong shoulder.  As the moved slowly Reneé once again saw Calista.  This time her and the strange man had taken a seat in a booth across the room.  Reneé watched in horror and Calista seemed to flirt with the man, running he hand against his thigh and then pulling him into her for what turned out to be a massive French kiss.  Joey felt Reneé tense up in his arms.  “What’s wrong?” He asked.  Reneé directed his attention to the booth.  “Joey, I don’t think their just friends.” Reneé said.            “I think your right, but we can’t tell Lance.  She’s the first girl he’s liked this much in a long time.  It would kill him.  Maybe she was planning to break up with him.” Joey said.  “Your right we can’t tell him but can you forgive me if I say I can’t stand her anymore?”  Reneé asked.   “Yeah, I understand I don’t think I like her much any more.  I will talk to Lance, if she doesn’t break up with him, I’ll get him to break up with her.  But I’m sorry I just can’t tell him about this.” Joey said.  “I can’t blame you but what are you going to tell him then?”  Reneé asked.  “I don’t know.” Joey said.              They stayed for a few more songs.  Reneé saw Calista leave with the man, she was holding his hand and laughing as they made their way to the door.  Reneé was mad, she was clearly cheating on Lance, and Lance had been nothing but sweet to her.  Finally Joey said it was time to go.  Reneé had walked to the club, since her apartment was only a few blocks away.  But Joey offered to give her a ride home.  She gladly accepted since her feet hurt from dancing.  The trip was short.  Joey got out and walked her up to her door.              “Despite what we saw, I had a really good time.  Thanks for taking me out Joey.”  Reneé said.  “It was my pleasure.” Joey said.  He placed his hand on her cheek and directed her attention to him.  He looked into her brown eyes and could tell something was bothering her.  “Don’t worry about Lance.  I will take care of him.” Joey said.  She smiled and then kissed him.  “Just don’t let him get hurt.” She said.  “I won’t, and I will see you tomorrow, right?” Joey asked.  “Yeah, I’ll be there to see you at the photo shoot.”  Reneé stepping inside her apartment.  She blew him a kiss and then shut the door.  Joey smiled then headed back to his car.             That night Reneé couldn’t help but think about Lance and Calista.  She knew Joey would take care of Lance but some one had to go talk to Calista.  So she vowed that in the morning before going to see Joey at the shoot she would stop in and see Calista.              In the morning, Joey got up and walked in the living area.  He had thought long a hard about what he was going to tell Lance.  Justin was sitting at the table eating cereal.  “You want some?” Justin asked.  “No, not right now.  Have you seen Lance?” Joey asked.  “Yeah, he said he had some things to do before the shoot and would meat us there.” Justin said.  “What kind of things?” Joey asked sitting down next to him.  “He didn’t say exactly but he had a bunch of papers with him, it most likely had to do with FreeLance or something.” Justin said.  “Oh, okay.” Joey said.            “Why want did you want?” Justin asked.  “I wanted to talk to him about his girlfriend.” Joey said fixing himself a bowl of Justin’s cereal.  “Calista? What about her?” Justin asked.  “Nothing I just really don’t think they go together well.” Joey lied.  “You too.  Man I thought the girl was messed up form the get go.” Justin said.  Joey looked at him dumb founded.  “Why didn’t you say any thing?” Joey asked.  “I didn’t want to hurt him, but if your going to say something I’ll back you up.” Justin said with his mouth full.  “Thanks.” Joey huffed.            Mean while across town, Reneé made her way down the hall checking the numbers on the doors trying to find Calista’s apartment.  Down the hall from where she was a door opened and the strange man from last night stepped out.  Calista ran to him and gave him another French kiss.  The man said something and then left.  Calista didn’t see Reneé and went back into her apartment.  Reneé wanted for the man to pass before going up and knocking on the door.            Calista opened the door and greeted her with  a smile.  “Hi, Reneé.  I haven’t seen you since that week we spent with the guys.  Reneé wanted to smack her but she didn’t.  “Can I come in?” She asked.  “Sure.” Calista said letting Reneé pass.  Reneé looked around the apartment was a mess and hadn’t been cleaned for some time.  “I’m sorry I wasn’t expecting company.” Calista said.  Calista went into her kitchen on the other side of the bar.  “Do you want something to drink?” Calista asked.  “No thanks; I came here because we need to talk.” Reneé said.  “Talk about what?” Calista asked.            “Joey and I were at the club last night and we saw you with that other man.” Reneé said.  Calista looked shocked.  “Oh, he was just a friend.” She lied.  “I saw you kiss him last night and I saw you kiss him just now in the hall.” Reneé said with a little anger in her voice.            Lance was making his way down the hall now.  He had stopped at the flower shop and gotten Calista some flowers in hopes of making her feel better.  He stopped at her door and noticed that it was open a little.  He was about to knock when he heard his name.  So he stopped to listen knowing he shouldn’t.            “Calista, I can’t believe your cheating on Lance.” Reneé yelled.  “It’s not cheating.” Calista said.  “Oh really then what is it.  You kissed another man and then I saw him leaving here this morning so there’s no telling what you did last night.” Reneé said.  “What I did last night has nothing to do with you.” Calista yelled.  “Joey and I know your cheating and Joey’s going to get him to break up with you.” Reneé said.  “Oh, whatever.  Like Lance is going to listen to you or your stupid boyfriend.  I have him wrapped around my little finger.” Calista said.  “Joey isn’t stupid, and he’s Lances friend.  Lance will believe him.” Calista said.            “Is there a reason you came here beside to yell at me?” Calista asked.  “Yes, I want you to break up with Lance.  I don’t want to have to tell him what you did.” Reneé said.  “Yeah, right.  I need him.  My rent is do next week and he has yet to get me that diamond ring I showed him.” Calista said.  “Is that the only reason you’re dating him?” Reneé asked half-sick by what she was hearing.  “Why else would I, he’s not that cute.  Now Chris is cute, what do you think it would take for me to get him away from that bimbo Elena?” Calista asked.  “You aren’t good enough to date a rat, let alone any man.” Reneé yelled.  “I don’t care what you or Romeo says Lance is mine.” Calista said.            “He isn’t property, you know.  Lance is a human being.  He’s the sweetest nicest guy I know and if you think I’m going to let you walk all over him, your wrong.” Reneé said getting in Calista’s face.  “Why do you care any way?” Calista asked looking her in the eyes.  “Lance is Joey’s friend and I feel he’s my friend too.  He doesn’t deserve to be treated like this; he deserves so much better then you.” Reneé said starting to calm down a little bit.  “You know what I don’t care what you say, there is nothing you can do.  Now please leave.” Calista snapped.            Lance couldn’t believe what he was hearing.  Here was his girlfriend confessing to cheating on him.  She had lied to him last night and to think he had been stupid enough to care enough to come all the way out here and bring her flowers to make her feel better. Lance clinched his teeth.  He wanted to burst through the door and yell at Calista, but at the same time he was moved by what Reneé had said.  He decided he wouldn’t go in so he turned and headed back down the hall, stopping at a trash can to throw the roses away.            Back in the apartment Reneé was steamed.  “You make me sick, I just hope you know that.” Reneé said then turned and walked out.  She heard the door slam behind her nearly smacking her in the back.  Reneé looked down the hall she saw a man quickly turn the corner, she didn’t think any thing about it until she saw a rose petal on the ground.  She picked it up; it was soft to her fingers.  She took off running for the man but when she got to the end there was no one there.  She happened to look over at the trashcan and saw the roses.  She pulled the out and removed the card.  She tossed them back in and then opened the card.  “To my dearest Calista: I hope these make you feel better.  Love always Lance.”  It said.  “Oh, no, Lance.” Reneé said putting her hand on her mouth.            “She looked at the time.  Lance would most likely be on his way to the shoot now.  So Reneé got in her car and headed straight there.  Once there Joey greeted her with a smile.  She hugged Joey.  “Joey we have a problem, I went to see Calista and I think Lance over heard us.” She said.  “Are you sure, he seemed fine when he can in?” Joey asked looking over into the dressing room where Lance and Chris were playing video games and Justin and JC were trying to pick out clothes.  “I’m sure it was him, I found roses in the trash the card had his name on it.” Reneé said.  “Don’t worry baby, I’ll talk to him as soon as the shoot is over.” Joey said kissing her forehead.            Reneé tried to relax as the guys got on with the shoot.  She had never been to a photo shoot so it was pretty cool to her.  She had to laugh as Chris tried to do a cartwheel and landed on his head or when Justin insisted on flexing for the camera.  As the guys were doing singles JC came up to her.  “Are you okay?” He asked.  “Yeah, I’m fine.” Reneé said.  Chris ran up behind her and picked her up.  “I got Joey’s girlfriend!” Chris yelled and then took off running.  “Chris you’re going to drop me.” Reneé yelled.  Joey took off after him.  “Hey, give that back.” Joey yelled.  “I’m too old for this.” Chris said finally running out of breath.  “Here your turn.” Chris said handing her over to Lance.  Lance laughed and smiled.  “I don’t think so.” He said.  He held her for a minute and then let her down.  “Thanks.” Reneé said.  “You’re welcome.” He said.            Joey came up and got Chris in a headlock.  “Don’t be mess’n with the woman.” Joey said jokingly while giving Chris a nuggy.  “Okay, I give up.” Chris squealed.  “You guys are something else.” Reneé said.  Justin then Justin’s cell phone rang.  He answered it.  He walked off to the side to take his call.  They could hear him arguing with some one on the other end.  “Who’s he talking to?” JC asked.  “Hard telling.” Lance said.  “What are you doing later?” Joey asked.  “I don’t know why?” Reneé asked.  Me and the guys are going to rent movies and get a pizza later, do you want to come over?” Joey asked.  “You should really come we leave tomorrow after noon to go back on tour.” Chris said.  “Okay, I’ll come if it’s okay with the rest on you.” Reneé said.  “We would love to have you.” Lance said.            Reneé smiled and then agreed to be there later.  Before she left Joy pulled her off to the side.  “If your coming over I’ll wait to tell Lance.  That way you will be there to back me up.  If he did over hear you earlier he has a good way of hiding it.” Joey said.  Reneé nodded and they said good bye to the others she had a few things to do before going to the guys house.
