The next couple of weeks went by pretty normally, not much having changed. Much to both mine and J.C.’s surprise Justin was right, as dysfunctional as this whole relationship may be it somehow worked for the three of us. We were all always close and were usually together anyway so the only thing that really changed was J.C.’s lingering touch when no one was looking, and stolen kisses behind closed doors. We had just finished up our second show in Chicago and were headed out to the buses to drive to Toronto. I was exhausted after two nights of back to back shows and long rehearsal before the second one because I felt everyone was little off the night before. It was probably due to a couple kinks in the construction of the stage that had everyone on edge but I didn’t want to take any chances. Kristin had been mostly laying low since her talk with Johnny but she was definitely copping an attitude with me as I held everyone over to dance and it took everything I had not to snap back at her. I was completely exhausted but also wired, having just come off stage and I wanted nothing more than to snuggled with my two boys and relax.

I walked onto the bus and immediately pulled my sweaty top over my head having every intention of beating both boys to the shower.

“You guys mind if I crash here for the night? Lance has a bunch of business calls to make and I just want to crash.” Joey said making his way onto the bus as I held my shirt in front of me and narrowed my eyes at him.

“Why can’t you ride with Chris?” I snapped as Joey eyed me curiously and I noticed J.C.’s eyes cut to mine in a silent warning.

“Michele is on his bus.” Joey said still watching me intently, confused by my hostility.

“Whatever, I’m going to shower.” I said and turned on my heel leaving the three of them behind without a second glance.

I just got into the shower when I heard the door creak open and Justin’s voice float through the room, “baby?”

“What J?” I sighed still frustrated that my plans were being ruined.

“Are you okay?” Justin questioned as I heard him fumbling with his clothes getting undressed.

“I’m fine, I’m just exhausted.” I sighed stepping out of the shower and smiling lightly in his direction.

“Okay well go lay down I’ll be right there.” Justin grinned down at me, kissing me softly on the side of the mouth.

I watched Justin step into the shower before turning and grabbing the clean t-shirt he had brought in and slipped it over my head. I made my way out of the bathroom and towards the back of the bus without acknowledging J.C. or Joey although I could feel their eyes boring into my back.

“I’ll be right back.” J.C. said glancing over at Joey as he stood up.

“Where are you going?” Joey asked J.C. his eyes narrowing.

“Uh…to get my notebook.” J.C. shrugged shifting uneasily. Joey sighed but finally nodded not sure if he was ready to delve into the topic that had been plaguing his mind. J.C. took that as his escape and quickly disappeared.

I was just climbing into bed when I heard the door open and looked up expecting to see Justin but was surprised to see J.C. standing there.

“Are you okay?” J.C. asked softly making his way over to the bed and pulling me up on my knees so he could pull me to his chest hugging me. I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him tightly drawing comfort from him.

“I’m just tired and wanted to cuddle.” I mumbled my head buried in the crook of his neck.

“Mmm, I’m sorry but Justin will be here.” J.C. said trying to comfort me as he rubbed my back.

“I know I’ve just got use to sleeping with both of you on the bus.” I said pouting up at him as a smile crept its way onto his face.

“Me too.” J.C. grinned as he softly kissed me as I sighed and fell back down onto the bed.

“Come on, get under here.” J.C. smiled as he pulled the covers back as I got situated on the bed. I finally relaxed and J.C. pulled the covers up around me and I couldn’t help but to giggle a little at him tucking me in.

“Get some sleep you can come crash in my room when we get to the hotel if you want.” J.C. said as he brushed a damp piece of hair away from my face.

I picked up his hand and nodded slightly, “Thank you C.”

“Anytime Madison.” J.C. sighed almost sadly as he bent down and kissed my forehead before standing up.

“Goodnight.” I whispered as I licked my lips and watched him walk away.

“Night.” He said as he turned and gave me a small smile before disappearing.

J.C. closed the door and noticed Justin walking towards him.

“She okay?” Justin asked nodding towards the door.

“Yeah just a little bummed Joey’s here. She’s gotten use to both of us being around.” J.C. sighed quietly.

“Yeah him being here is odd don’t you think?” Justin questioned perplexed.

“I don’t know,” J.C. said rubbing his hand over his face, “but he’s definitely curious after Madison’s little outburst.”

“It’ll be fine; she’s tired he has to understand that.” Justin shrugged indifferently.

“Yeah,” J.C. said dismissively, “Get some sleep J, and I told Madison she could crash in my room when we got to the hotel if she wanted.”

“Alright we’ll see, Night C.” Justin said patting J.C. on the shoulder and slipping past him.

Joey could hear Justin and J.C. talking in hushed whispers, but he couldn’t make out what they were saying or if they were angry. He scooted to the other end of the couch trying to get closer so he could hear what was being said but it didn’t help much. He didn’t realize just how ridiculous he looked leaning over the couch, straining to hear, until J.C. reappeared and raised his eyebrows at him questioningly.

“What are you doing?” J.C. asked trying to hide the amusement in his voice.

“I….uh…well.” Joey started stumbling over his words knowing he had been caught. J.C. stood rooted in place waiting expectantly on Joey’s answer.

“Where’s your notebook?” Joey finally accused, glad to have the focus off of himself for a moment.

“I threw it in my bunk,” J.C. shrugged as Joey scowled that thought never crossing his mind, “but I’m gonna take a shower and crash.” Joey just nodded as he watched J.C. disappear into the bathroom as he sat back and tried to figure out what was or was not going on. He was still suspicious of my relationship with J.C., but Kelly kept telling him it was none of his business especially if Justin didn’t have a problem with it. Kelly had gone home for the next few weeks however and Joey was bound and determined to get some answers while she was away.

I woke up the next morning still on the bus to find myself nestled in between Justin and J.C. J.C. must have snuck back here after we made it to the hotel and I couldn’t help the smile that made its way across my face seeing him there. I reached out and ran my fingers through J.C.’s hair causing his eyes to slowly flutter open. When his eyes focused and landed on me a small smile made its way onto his face.

“Morning.” He breathed out taking my hand and interlocking our fingers.

“What are you doing here?” I questioned slightly confused yet happy nonetheless.

“I knew it’s what you wanted.” J.C. shrugged as if it was no big deal.

“But how’d you manage to stay without Joey noticing?” I whispered, trying not to wake Justin.

“Lonnie got Joey up before even coming to check on me and I just told him I was staying here.” J.C. shrugged again as if it was the most logical thing in the world.

“Well thank you.” I giggled as I brought his hand up to my mouth and kissed it lightly.

“Anytime.” J.C. grinned, wrapping his arm around my waist and pulling me against his chest. In doing so he pulled me away from Justin and I heard him groan slightly at the loss of contact as he started to slowly wake up.

“Madi.” Justin whined reaching out for me but his fingers brushed up against J.C.’s arm instead.

Justin’s eyes slowly opened and he sat up slightly peering over me to look at J.C., “When’d you get here C?”

“When we got to the hotel.” J.C. sighed watching Justin’s reaction, still waiting on Justin to get upset about the whole arrangement.

“Oh,” Justin said indifferently as he flopped back down onto the bed, “what time do we have to be at the studio?”

“Nine,” J.C. answered picking up his phone to check the time, “We really should get moving.”

“Fuck.” Justin groaned rubbing his hand over his face trying to wake up.

“Are you coming with us baby?” Justin whined as he curled into me resting his head on my shoulder.

“Yeah, come on we’ll drop you off then I’ll head out and get us breakfast.” I said as I turned and kissed his forehead before making my way out of bed in search of clothes. Justin just grumbled but eventually rolled off the bed and started to get dressed still half asleep much to mine and J.C.’s amusement.

I was glad that I threw a book into my bag before we left for the studio because both boys were in full work mode, feeling the pressure to get everything done in time. There was only a month left before it was supposed to be released and that only gave them a handful of days to get everything completed. Besides the couple minutes we spent eating breakfast and when they sent me out for lunch they both had completely ignored me all day. I didn’t mind though I was happy to just be in the same room with them, plus it was pretty amazing watching them work. We were supposed to be out of the studio by six but they had both fallen into a rhythm and neither wanted to stop so they continued to work until we literally got thrown out around seven when someone else came in to use the space.

When we got back to the hotel I went to change, not planning on doing anything but relaxing the rest of the night, but I couldn’t find the pair of shorts I wanted. I remembered having them in J.C.’s room a few nights ago and made my way down to his room to get them. J.C. had started giving me his spare key so I let myself in and made my way over to his suitcase and started to dig through it hearing the shower running.

“What are you doing?” J.C. asked amusement in his voice causing me to jump.

“Jesus C you scared the shit outta me.” I said placing my hand over my heart and sitting down on the bed taking in the sight of him in only a towel as water droplets fell from his hair and down over his chest.

I licked my lips slowly my eyes roaming over his body before I brought my head back up to look at his face to find him staring at me grinning in amusement, “See something you like?”

“Maybe.” I whispered out leaning back on my hands and biting my lip slightly.

“Mmhmm that still doesn’t explain why you were digging through my suitcase.” J.C. chided slowly making his way over to me and standing in between my legs staring down at me.

“Oh I was looking for my purple nike shorts.” I shrugged grinning up at him innocently.

“Oh is that all.” J.C. rolled his eyes in mock frustration as he moved away from me and pulled my shorts out of a different pocket of his suitcase and threw them at me.

“Come here.” I pouted.

“I thought you just wanted your shorts?” J.C. smirked over at me pulling some clothes for himself out of his suitcase.

“Don’t put that shirt on.” I warned as J.C. started to pull it over his head.

He stopped and stared at me amused by my authoritative tone, “or what?” he challenged.

“Or it’ll just waste more time when I have to take it off again.” I said reaching up and grabbing it out of his hand and throwing it back onto his open suitcase.

He just shook his head as he slowly made his way back over to me. “Is this what you want?” J.C. mumbled against my lips as he slowly kissed me.

“Mmmhmm.” I moaned out against his lips as I fell back onto the bed pulling him with me. He chuckled slightly pulling himself onto the bed and hovering over me. I moved to untie the knot on J.C’s towel as my phone beeped causing both of us to groan out slightly.

J.C. fell on the bed beside me as I dug my phone out of my pocket to see a text from Justin, ‘the guys are all in our room wanting to party and they want to know where u are…’

I sighed and glanced over at J.C. and the look on his face told me he knew our time had been cut short.

“Come on get dressed everyone is in my room.” I said sitting up and patting his leg as I texted Justin back, ‘We’ll be right down.’

J.C. quickly got dressed and we made our way back down the hall to find everyone sitting around drinking.

“Where have you two been?” Joey asked accusingly as we made our way into the room.

“Why do you care?” I asked rolling my eyes as I made my way over to Justin and wrapped my arms around his waist as he bent down and kissed me.

“What’s going on anyway?” I asked glancing at everyone sitting around the room.

“We were bored.” Chris shrugged grinning over at me.

“Oh I see.” I said moving out of Justin’s grasp to make myself a drink. It didn’t look like the guys were leaving anytime soon so I figured I might as well join them.

“Have you guys ate?” I asked glancing over at Chris, Joey, and Lance knowing J.C. and Justin hadn’t.

“No I think we were just gonna order pizza.” Lance answered as I nodded and took a sip of my Jack and coke and grabbed a corona and made my way over and handed it to J.C.

“Thanks.” J.C. smiled his fingers brushing against mine as he took it out of my hand.

“Mmhmm.” I shrugged and made my way back over to where Justin was sitting on the floor and planted myself in front of him leaning back into him. I could feel Joey’s eyes on me the whole time but chose to ignore it and I turned my head to the side kissing Justin for a second trying to prove a point.

Justin squeezed me gently also noticing Joey’s glare and moved his lips to my ear, “just ignore him.” I nodded and smiled at the grin Justin was giving me before relaxing against him and taking in the conversations going on around me.

About a half hour later Mike made his way into the room with the pizzas we ordered and I got up to get everyone a refill. I handed J.C., Chris, and Joey all another beer and started to pour Justin and I another drink as I looked over at Lance, “What’re you drinking?”

“Rum and coke.” Lance smiled as I nodded and began to pour him a fresh drink as well. I picked up all three cups and moved back across the room handing Lance his drink before making my way over to Justin.

“Thanks baby.” Justin grinned taking his drink out of my hand. I smiled at Justin before turning and grabbing a piece of pizza and taking a bite as Chris flipped through the channels furiously.

“Oh my God I’m bored!” Chris exclaimed exasperated as he threw the remote down frustrated.

“So put a movie on or something.” I said rolling my eyes at his tantrum.

“No I want to do something,” Chris whined, “I know let’s go out!”

I was about to tell them to have fun and get the hell out but Lance cut me off, “No, we don’t need all that drama tonight especially when we can drink here.”

Chris glared slightly in Lance’s direction but before he could say anything Joey spoke up, “We could play a game!”

“Really Joe?” J.C. asked.

“Yeah I think we should play never have I ever.” Joey said narrowing his eyes at J.C. before glancing over at Justin and I.

Chris started to bounce up and down in excitement and I groaned as I slowly stood up and mumbled, “I need another drink.”

“Madi I need a beer!” Chris yelled out as he held up his empty bottle. I just nodded and grabbed him a beer as I made my way back to the group.

“Alright I’ll start,” Joey exclaimed clasping his hands together, “never have I ever had a threesome!”

My eyes widened slightly as Lance laughed in Joey’s direction, “You’re suppose to say something you’ve NEVER done.”

Joey just shrugged as he smiled sheepishly, “It’s okay I’ll drink too.” Joey took a drink along with Chris, Justin, and J.C. while I just sat there dumbfounded.

“Justin drank but Madi didn’t?” Joey asked accusingly looking in our direction.

“This is not the game to be playing with your brother.” I exclaimed throwing my hands up and taking a couple gulps of my drink trying to calm down.

“So Madi and Justin had a threesome….who was it with?” Joey smirked over in our direction.

“None of your business.” Justin snapped a little harshly as I took another big drink of my alcohol. These games never turned out fun for me especially since I was usually the only girl, but this one was already turning out to be worse than the others.

“Yeah Joe who was yours with?” Chris asked laughing.

“Kelly and one of her friends from college.” Joey shrugged turning his attention back to Justin and I.

“That’s nice it’s still none of your business.” I said finishing my drink and standing up to get another one.

“Let’s just continue.” J.C. sighed running his hand over his face.

Lance took that as his cue and spoke up, “Never have I ever hooked up with a groupie.” All the guys groaned and took a drink glaring slightly in Lance’s direction.

I gave Lance a sad smile as Justin took his turn, “Never have I ever not remembered the girls name I slept with.” Chris and Joey both grinned sheepishly and took a drink as the rest of us laughed in their direction.

“Alright never have I ever had a multi-platinum selling cd.” I smirked as all the guys rolled their eyes at me.

“That’s not fair.” Chris whined as I just giggled.

“Just drink.” Justin laughed putting his chin on my shoulder and placing a sloppy kiss on my cheek.

“Never have I ever broke a bone.” J.C. smiled as Justin, Chris, and I all drank.

“Alright never have I ever been walked in on during sex.” Chris grinned over at Justin and I.

“Yeah just because you walked in on us!” Justin scoffed as we both took a drink along with Joey. Chris just cackled as Joey got an evil gleam in his eye knowing it was his turn again.

“Never have I ever cheated on anyone.” Joey smirked, thinking he was being clever. I knew what he was getting at but he couldn’t be farther from the truth. I sighed as I stood up and noticed Justin’s questioning glance.

“I’ll be right back.” I said giving him a tight lipped smile as I made my way to the bathroom.

I was standing in the bathroom gripping onto the sink staring in the mirror when there was knock on the door followed my Justin’s voice, “Baby? Are you okay? Can I come in?”

“Yeah.” I sighed and glanced up as he made his way into the room and immediately wrapped his arms around me.

“Why is he being such an ass.” I groaned into his chest.

“He thinks he knows something but he doesn’t so don’t let him get under your skin.” Justin sighed rubbing my back comfortingly.

“You know he’s not going to let this go right?” I asked finally looking up at Justin.

“Let’s just get through tonight and then I’ll take care of it.” Justin said as I nodded still apprehensive about the whole thing.

“Here this will help.” Justin grinned as he took a step back and pulled a baggie of coke out of his pocket. I just nodded, not even thinking about what I was about to do as Justin broke it into two huge lines on the sink. I grabbed his wallet off the sink and took out a twenty and started to roll it up as I waited on Justin to finish evening out the lines. He finally finished and ran the card in his hand across his tongue as he grinned at me. I smiled back before bending over and inhaling one of the lines before handing him the rolled up twenty. Justin did the other line then turned and kissed me lightly before he started to pull away.

“Uh uh.” I whined pulling him back to me and deepening the kiss. Justin and I were always very sexual, but there was just something about doing coke that made me not be able to get enough of him. Justin’s hands made their way to my ass and he quickly lifted me up setting me on the sink and knocking a few things off in the process causing me to giggle into his mouth.

I slowly wrapped my legs around Justin’s waist pulling him closer to me as there was a loud banging on the bathroom door, “What are you two doing in there?” Chris bellowed as Justin pulled away from me groaning.

“We’re coming.” I rolled my eyes as I slid off of the sink and made my way towards the door Justin right behind me.

I brushed past Chris and made my way back out to the living room area and grabbed my drink and quickly downed the rest of it. Justin finished his as well and made his way over to me setting his empty cup on the counter and wrapping his arms around my waist, bending down kissing my neck causing me to giggle as I continued to make our drinks.

“It’s your turn J.” Chris rolled his eyes throwing a piece of pizza crust in our direction.

“Never have I ever cockblocked one of my friends.” Justin spit out glaring at Chris as he stayed behind me and started to sway lightly. I couldn’t help but giggle at the shocked look on Chris’ face as I handed Justin his drink and started to walk back towards the couch him hot on my heels. Justin plopped down onto the couch and pulled me down onto his lap almost spilling my drink.

“Justin!” I shrieked as he just laughed sending me into a fit of giggles as well. I turned my head and looked back at Justin kissing him through my giggles before Chris started yelling something about his virgin eyes and broke us up.

I pulled away from Justin and inhaled deeply, sending the coke further up my sinuses and caught J.C.’s eye for a second. He was staring at me his jaw set in a hard line and I was suddenly feeling really apprehensive about the coke I had just done.

“It’s your turn Madi.” Lance said breaking my eye contract with J.C.

“Uh yeah….uhm never have I ever….got so drunk I couldn’t fine my way home.” I smirked glancing over at Lance and Joey.

“It happened one time!” Lance laughed as he and Joey both took a drink.

“Never have I ever done coke.” J.C. glared staring me down and I instantly knew he knew and I couldn’t help the guilt that was rising is my stomach. Joey, Chris, and Justin all took a drink but I couldn’t move as J.C. stared me down.

“C can we talk.” I whispered out pleadingly.

“Not now Madison.” J.C. snapped finishing his beer and getting up, “and you still didn’t drink.” I sighed and reluctantly took a sip of my drink before glancing up and seeing J.C. pouring himself a rum and coke instead of grabbing another beer. I couldn’t help but feel responsible for the sudden change in his attitude and I had no idea how to fix it especially with everyone in the room.

Just then Chris stood up grinning down at his phone, “Well it’s been fun but I gotta go.”

“Where are you going?” Justin asked narrowing his eyes at him.

“To see Michele.” Chris grinned as I brought my focus away from J.C. and back to Chris.

“You’ve been spending an awful lot of time with her lately.” I said as Chris just shrugged.

“I like her.” Chris grinned and slipped out the door before anyone could question him further.

“Then back to me,” Joey beamed as J.C. sat back down, “never have I ever lusted after my best friends girl.” My whole body went rigid on Justin’s lap and he immediately started to run his hand up and down my arm trying to comfort me.

“Joey let it go.” Lance sighed knowing what Joey was trying to do and getting frustrated with it himself.

“Yeah I’m over this game anyway I’m gonna go to bed.” J.C. said getting up and making his way towards the door.

“You guys should probably go too.” Justin sighed glancing over at Lance and Joey as he placed a comforting kiss on my shoulder. Joey opened his mouth to protest but Lance sent him a warning look and he closed it and got up and reluctantly followed Lance out the door.

“I need to go talk to C.” I sighed getting up off of Justin’s lap as the door closed.

“Yeah what’s going on with him?” Justin questioned confused.

“He’s pissed about the coke.” I sighed as I hastily picked up all the empty beer bottles and tossed them into the trash.

“What’s he care?” Justin asked defensively sitting back and turning on the tv.

“I duno J it’s complicated but I gotta talk to him.” I sighed again glancing over at Justin as I slowly made my way towards the door.

“Yeah whatever.” Justin waved his hand dismissively not looking up from the tv.

I quickly made my way down the hall and let myself into J.C.’s room. His head snapped up when I walked in and he scowled slightly, “What do you want Madison?”

“We need to talk.” I said quietly as I made my way over to where he was sitting on the couch.

“I don’t want to talk to you right now.” J.C. sighed refusing to look at me.

“Please C.” I begged sitting beside him and reaching out for his hand. J.C. jerked his hand away from me and stood up and quickly crossed the room catching me off guard as I sat back wide eyed.

“Go get some sleep Madison.” J.C. sighed staring down at the floor.

“Why won’t you talk to me?” I managed to choke out fighting back tears.

“I’m not going to talk to you while you’re fucking high so just go.” J.C. snapped. In all the years that I’ve known J.C. he has never raised his voice at me and I knew I was going to break down any second so I quickly stood up and bolted from the room refusing to look at him.

I walked back into mine and Justin’s room and finally let a few tears fall as the door shut behind me.

“Baby what’s wrong?” Justin asked glancing up at me. I looked over at him and the concern on his face and I immediately decided that if J.C. didn’t want to talk to me I didn’t need him.

“Nothing.” I shrugged making my way over to the table and pouring myself a shot of Jack that I quickly threw back.

I grimaced as the whiskey burned the back of my throat and glanced up at Justin, “Do we have any tequila?”

“Yeah I think there’s a bottle in my gym bag.” Justin nodded as I quickly disappeared into the bedroom. I found the bottle of tequila and an eight ball and briefly wondered how Justin got his hands on the mass quantities of the drugs he did but I quickly shrugged it off and grabbed both things and made my way back out of the bedroom, grabbing two glasses on my way over to Justin. I threw the coke in Justin’s lap and went to work pouring us both a shot of tequila.

“You sure you’re okay?” Justin asked raising his eyebrows as he picked up the coke.

“Fine. I just feel like getting fucked up.” I shrugged. In all reality it was just my way of distracting myself so I didn’t have to think about the hurt and disappointed look in J.C.’s eyes or him yelling at me but Justin didn’t need to know that. He didn’t press the issue either, he just chuckled as he sat up and scooted the coffee table closer so he could break up some lines.
