Author's Chapter Notes:

You're the cure, you're the pain

You're the only thing I wanna touch

Never knew that it could mean so much

Ellie Goulding - Love Me Like You Do

"Hey, Max," JC was standing in the laundry room over the washing machine as he dumped the contents of their suitcases inside. He was holding the phone against his ear between his shoulder. "Didn't you say you had property around Big Bear? Yeah. I'll pay you whatever you normally rent it for, I just want a really private week away with Samantha but shit keeps happening..." He paused, nodding at the response. "Man that would be amazing, thank you." He closed the door to the laundry room, walking toward the kitchen where he spotted Samantha making nachos. The smell made him grin. "Yeah, this weekend is fine. Hell NAH I'm not doing a studio track for trade though," he was laughing so cutely, "Because you know that shit would be fire and you'd make 50 grand off of me."

Sam looked up to see him walking to her on the phone and it made her smile. She put the plate of chicken nachos out on the island, along with homemade mico and sour cream. She shuffled over to the beer fridge and popped the tops on two Coronas then climbed up onto a stool. "Cheat day!"

"Okay, okay, gotta go man. I'll send you the money tomorrow. Thanks." He hung up the phone and looked at Samantha and the nacho plate with the biggest grin. "Damnnnnnn baby! This shit looks amazing."

"I felt like we needed some nachos. And since you love all this little housewife shit, I figured I'd make them instead of calling for take out. Plus, I needed to get rid of some of those chicken breasts in the fridge." She grinned then took a sip of her beer.

"Yeah, I love all this housewife shit." He walked over and took his beer, slipping his arm around her. He kissed the top of her head then leaned down and took a nacho from the pile, taking a healthy bite. "Ohhhh."

She leaned back into his body and grinned. "You wanna keep me around?"

"I think I'll keep you a little while longer baby. You can be my longest running relationship to date ok?" He smirked and took another one, licking his fingers.

"I'm honored," she giggled and grabbed a nacho for herself, taking a bite. "Mmm. I'm thinking 50 years of marriage, maybe 60."

He nodded then took a sip of his beer. "You know what. I think we could do it, but maybe we should start with like 20. We can hit a celebratory mark and then try adding 40 to that." He licked his lips, trying not to smirk.

"I mean, maybe we should shoot for a year first. That might be a fair start. Then we can double that. Then double that. Eventually, we'll get to the 20." She took a sip of her beer, leaving the bottle at her lips to stop her smirk.

"Oh, I think you could be onto something. We both gonna celebrate getting through a year of marriage? That gonna be your longest running relationship?" He shoved a big nacho in his mouth.

She grinned, "Celebrating you not wanting to leave me? For a whole year?" She giggled and grabbed another chip.

"Ohhh yes. Exactly what I would be celebrating. You're such a damn nagging wife type baby." He laughed and looked down at her for a long moment. "You know what, I don't know that I even know what your longest relationship even is."

She laughed softly at his comment about the nagging wife type and hit his arm but playfully. "And you still wanted to marry me?" She laughed and smiled softly. "And 3 years. That's the longest relationship I've been in." She tilted her head to look up at him. "And you?"

He took a long sip of his beer and leaned into the counter a bit. "Well let's see." He looked toward the living room. "It was a little over 3 years... not quite 3 and a half."

Of course, the thought of him being the incredible man to another woman made her jealous, because it was human nature. But she knew she truly had the best of him for who he really was. "What happened?" She looked at him as he was looking out toward the living room, not making eye contact with her.  She wasn't sure if this was Kat he was speaking of, but from what she had heard from Ashley, 3 and a half years seemed too long for the timeline.

"Well..." he started, "That was the first time a woman broke my heart by sleeping with one of my childhood friends." He shook his head, then looked down at her but he smiled slightly, "I didn't always have the best taste in women. I attracted a specific type and it became a pattern. So I stopped dating altogether after I was cheated on again, and decided that I was going to be the guy that would just have fun and not let another woman in like that ever again."

"Oh baby," she sighed. "That's awful. Being cheated on absolutely sucks." She shook her head.

"It really does," he said, "But you know what?" He brushed his hand along her face with a smile. "It led me to appreciate the kind of woman that would show up in my life so unexpectedly. A woman that was stronger than anyone I've ever met. A woman that had a heart bigger than all of the special people in my life... all of it led me to you."

She smiled as she looked up at him. She knew she had a special guy in front of her, and she knew he was in a vulnerable place in his life, so willing to trust her and open up to her. "I guess we both were led to each other because we deserved to appreciate and experience each other. Somebody knew what He was doing." She couldn't help but smile softly.

JC knew what she meant, but he couldn't help but grin into a smirk, reaching to pull her in up against him. "I'll agree to that. I'm a man that knows what to do..."

She laughed, touching his face. "You're so good to me. And I've never had that the way I do with you."

"Mmm, you've never had what? Love, attention, sex?" He leaned in to put his lips against her forehead, "Or all of the above?"

She let her fingertips play along his jaw. "I've had all of those. I mean I guess I'm kind of a lucky woman. I've had some amazing lovers. Like, really, really, really good sex. Some of it meaningful, some of it not. I've had plenty of attention in my life. Sometimes more than I want." She laughed softly, "And love...  I've experienced it in some different ways."

Within seconds, his body language shifted to much stiffer and he made a low noise. "Samantha, I'm going to be real and admit that I don't like hearing that you've had amazing sex and that you get a lot of attention. I'm instantly jealous. But I asked, and I really wanted to know at the same time. And I'm still marrying you so I win, but I don't have to like it... and I'm gonna need to not run out of this house to go tracking someone down..."

"Nobody said you had to like it, because I'm jealous of your first girlfriend. The first person to make you stop and say, oh my god she's beautiful." She looked up at him. "I'm completely willing to be an open book about all of this for you, sweetheart."

He clenched his jaw slightly, looking down at her. His free hand was clenched in a fist just out of her line of vision. "I'm an open book too. I just... you are mine." He pointed to himself over his heart. "No one can love you more than me."

She smiled and nodded, bringing her forehead to his. "Nobody loves me more than you do. Nobody has ever loved me the way that you do, Josh. Julian and I were together for the 3 years. Things were good for awhile but then he started to get mean. Especially when he drank after games. He would take his aggression out on me. I should have left a good year before I did." She sighed, "So you're not my longest relationship yet, but you're the most meaningful and I have absolutely zero hesitations about making you my husband."

JC took a long sip of his beer to finish the bottle off and he closed his eyes, nodding. "Samantha, I know I'm not your longest relationship now, but I am going to be. And I swear to God, if I do ever see him, I will not be able to keep quiet." He wrapped his arms protectively around her. "You are too precious and valuable to me. Do you know that?"

She smiled. "I'm in it for the long haul with you, sweetheart. I want you for the rest of my life... in the times that are going to be amazing that I know we're going to have, and when things get hard. That's when I know I'm going to lean on you the most. And likewise, I'll be here to hold you up when that shit starts." She smiled as she slid her arms around him. "I always feel valuable to you, that's the gift you gave back to me that Julian took away."

"I would never, ever take something like that away from you. I am here to bring you peace and be someone that you can come home to and lean on with everything. I want ALL your things. I want your happiness and your sadness, and even your anger. It's my job to be your support system and love you when you need me the most and also for no damn reason. I can promise you that you will never, ever need to be with anyone else. "He sighed harshly and put his lips against her temple, still trying to come down off his high horse. He held so much anger and jealousy toward Julian that he didn't even fully realize he had and it was coming out.

She let him hold her tightly, rocking herself in his arms just a bit. "Joshua Scott, you know that I want to always be your everything. And I'll never, ever, ever need to go to someone else for anything, and likewise for you. I want you to always feel that I'm providing for you everything you want." She reached up to rub his chest lightly, knowing the way he was feeling.

He squeezed her a little tighter and mumbled against her temple, "I don't need anyone else ever again in my life. I only need you... ugh Samantha. You're everything."

She looked up at him with a soft smile. "Sometimes I wonder how I got so lucky to end up with you, Josh."

He glanced down at her looking up at him with such adoration in her eyes and it made him smile. Moments later, his whole body relaxed. "Baby," he sighed, "Because God must love me a lot for sending you my way when I needed you the most."

She smiled because her man was truly a gem and he made her heart happy. "It's moments like this I could marry you literally tomorrow."

He grinned, burying his face into her neck. "Mmmm, want to?"

She laughed softly against his skin. "And if I said yes..."

"Then I'd take your pretty ass to the court house and marry you, in an instant. But deep down, I know that's not what you want. And I really want to do the traditional thing with you, baby."

"I do just want you..." she replied with a smile, "But you are correct." She took both of his hands and held them by their sides. "I do want a wedding that we both deserve. You're worth the wait, I can be patient." She grinned.

He smiled, taking a moment to look at her and enjoying the familiar flutter his heart felt when she smiled at him that way. "I can be patient too. And besides, we already started to plan it, remember?" His grin was wide, "I forgot that we did that."

"We probably need to start writing some of the stuff down. I should probably be one of those brides with the big wedding planners filled with stuff." She giggled and leaned up to kiss him softly. "Do you have a DJ in mind from people you've met, baby?"

He laughed softly. "You can be as organized as you want to be baby. I haven't really thought about it just yet. I know I'll think of the best one. He can't just be a DJ, he needs to be a phenomenal host."

"We'll figure it out," she grinned, "And I know Ashley is designing my dress. But, do you have anything that you'd like to see?"

He leaned over to reach for another nacho and put it to his mouth with a thoughtful face. "No. I want to be completely surprised, and I know that between the two of you it's going to be completely breathtaking." He smiled and popped the bite into his mouth.

"I can definitely surprise you," she smiled. "I have some ideas about what I want. I've been pouring through some designs." She let out a breathless sigh and her eyes went dreamy as she looked down at the counter.

It made JC smile that she would feel that way about marrying him, so dreamy. He licked his lips then picked her up, sitting her on the counter. He got between her legs and reached to grab them both another beer before turning to place between them. "Tell me a little bit about them. What ideas."

She smiled, loving how into the details he was right along with her. "Oh, Josh," she giggled softly. "I want lace... a full lace dress. Long, with a train." She bit her lip, watching for his reaction before she started to gush in detail.

"I love the sound of lace baby, and if I know the type of designer that Ashley is, she's going to spare nothing making you the most beautiful dress and bride for me. I'm not gonna want you to take the dress off... buuuut then again I'm also gonna want you to take the dress off." He smirked, letting his hands wrap around her loosely, enjoying her being on the counter in front of him.

She laughed softly with a playful tone. "Oh honey, you'll have your own set of lace for the honeymoon. There's no doubt about that." Her hands slid up his white vneck, feeling along his back muscles.

"Ooooooo?" He grinned so hard. "I hadn't even thought about that yet, but now that you mention it..." He licked his lips.

"Oh, I've got you covered. You know this, Daddy." She grinned.

He laughed then it turned into a low mmm mmm mmm. "Daddy can't wait. I'll make sure to have a good sexy suit tailor made for you too. Maybe even a pair of boxer briefs that say Samantha's husband on the waist." He grinned at the thought.

"To be opened by Mrs. Samantha Chasez only... Mmmm mmmm mmm. I'll have to take my time taking those off," she giggled, watching his smirk and grin.

"Oh by all means please take your team with that," he picked her back up from the counter and carried her right into the laundry  room. "Excuse the interruption, but daddy got laundry to switch." He put her on the counter in the laundry room, and started to unload the wash in the dryer, but he continually looked up at her. He was smiling.

"Thanks for the ride to the laundry room." She leaned back on her hands, watching him be such a domesticated fiance and it made her grin. This was so not even close to being the man she met on that first night and she loved the hell out of it.

JC took one of her nice shirts and put it on a hanger to air dry rather than putting it in the dryer. He hung it up on a rack in the laundry room before starting up the dryer. "Where should I take you next?" He scooped her back into his arms.

"Thanks for not shrinking that top," she smirked, resting her forehead against his. "You're a super husband already. Where do you want to take me next?"

"The lake, but that's gotta wait for the weekend, so..." He stopped in the hallway and looked at her. "I want to know what you want. What do you want to do? Anything and it's yours."

"Mmm. Well. I mean," she laughed softly. "I wouldn't hate watching the sunset on the yard."

"I can do that. Would you like your drink or just some water or tea?" He shifted her to lift her in one arm so he could grab for the beer he had been sipping on."

"My beer would be fantastic," she grinned, "I can grab it you know," she giggled, "Though watching you lift me in one arm is sexy as fuck, so continue..."

He looked at her with a little wicked grin. "I love that shit too so I'm not gonna stop." He grabbed her beer then handed it to her, before taking his. He made his way to their back patio. "Maybe I just won't put your ass down."

"I wouldn't complain," she grinned, "I love watching you lift." She took a sip of her beer. "Your arms though..." She giggled softly, knowing how much he loved to hear how he did it for her.

"Shit woman, I'll lift you like a workout all day," He grinned and walked her out to the back patio. The breeze blew some of his wind chimes and his little set of potted plants stood waiting for them.

"I wouldn't hate on it, I'd climb on your back for some push ups too daddy, you know I've got you." She grinned.

He smirked and put both of their beer bottles down then flipped her so he was carrying her in both arms now. "Be careful what you wish for." He lifted her up over his head then put her down with a grin, before lifting her up and down a few times with a little grunt at the last one, then he held her in his arms. "I feel better already, what about you?"

She laughed softly with the cutest shake of her head. "Sometimes I can't handle you, Joshua Scott Chasez."

"Oh good," he grinned, sitting down on his chaise lounge. He pulled her all up between his legs to lay on him, then handed her the bottle of beer again. "I don't want you to handle me."

She took a sip and grinned, peeking up at him from down below. "As I recall you seemed to like me handling you last night on that airplane."

He had to laugh because that shit was satisfying. "You handled me very well, Ms. Bentley, and I loved that shit. And then I handled you right back and you loved it." He took a sip as well with a smirk.

"Mmm, that is correct, I did." she grinned, playing with the bottle between her hands, moving it back and forth a bit. "That was my first time in the Mile High Club. I appreciate the welcome, daddy."

"Oh it was my pleasure, baby." He licked his lips and put the bottle on the table so he could pull her a little closer, draping his arms around her. "It was my first one too actually. As much as we have flown. I've never done anything like that before."

She leaned over and put hers next to his on the table, leaning back more into his body, enjoying being there with him, his arms all around her. "Mmm, I thought you said in that game with Ash and J that you had."

"I did?" He made a face to think about it. "Oh, that. I didn't actually have se,x, but Justin thinks that I did." He laughed, "To this day, all the guys still think so, but it was a game of truth or dare on a flight from London to LA. We just made out in the bathroom, 7 minutes in heaven type shit."

She kinda grinned. "Ohhh." She peeked up at him with the cutest little mischief in her eyes. "I know this is gonna be a black hole but, tell me about the first time you had sex. I kinda want to know." She smirked so slyly up at him.

"You really wanna go down this path?" He laughed with his brows raised. "Because you know I'm going to ask you the same thing when I'm done."

"I'm prepared," she grinned, "And prepared to remind you why you're the best."

He shook his head and pursed his lips a moment. "My first girlfriend. In high school, we had only been dating like 3 weeks maybe. I had a football game and we won. She snuck into my house and stayed the night. And I had NO clue what I was doing either."

She giggled. "I was a junior in high school, and I pretended to be 19. We went to a party on the campus of Georgetown. I hooked up with this sexy older guy... oh my god." She bit her lip, knowing she was completely lying but his reactions always made her life. Her lips then pursed and she was trying so hard not to laugh.

"Wait, wait wait WAIT. You hooked up with a college for for YOUR FIRST TIME?" JC's eyebrows raised high and he felt the vein in his neck start to bulge.

She started laughing and it was positively adorable, leaving no room for him to be mad, just a fit of giggles and laughter and she was shaking her head at the same time.

"SAMANTHA!!!! YOU LIED!" His mouth fell open for a minute then he started belly laughing too. "YOU."

"That story was so much better than what really happened," her fit of giggled calmed down and she wiped the tears out of the corner of her eyes. "I was a sophomore in high school. My boyfriend at the time was too. We had been going out for like 5... maybe 6 months? He took me to Homecoming and we went back to his house afterwards. We had been grinding at the dance and he led me to his room and it was like this super awkward making out for a long time." She shook her head and laughed, "And then it led to a disaster. He had no idea what he was doing, and neither did I. I actually cried." She laughed softly.

"Oh, well that sounds very much like my first experience only I didn't make anyone cry. Why were you crying?" He made a face, one fist balling up by her side, "Because he hurt you? Forced you?" He was ready to throw down on some 15 year old boy he had never met.

"He was a lot bigger than I expected him to be. I had never seen a penis in person," she laughed softly, "It was an adjustment."

"Baby! Oh my god , I'll say." He wasn't sure how to take this information, and his brows furrowed and he let out a harsh shy "I'd at least have done show and tell first, God."

She laughed, shaking her head at the memory. "I mean, he did. I did. I saw it and touched it in his bathroom. Then he lost it all over me there at the counter and we had to start over. It was a disaster all around. Like... really bad."

JC had to laugh a little bit. "And did you continue to date him after that?" He looked down at her, "Or was that enough for you to be like PEACE!"

She laughed, "We dated until the summer before we were seniors. We just kept practicing. He got better at controlling himself around me, and I got used to what I was supposed to do."

He smirked. "I wouldn't have been able to control it around you. I barely can now... I mean c'mon. LOOK at you." He reached down from where his hands were to get a good grab at her thigh and he laughed real low.

"I would probably have to say it was the 36Ds. They were boy killers. All that happened around that summer too. The hips, the thighs, all of it." She shook her head real cute then leaned up to brush her lips with his a few times.

JC moaned thoughtfully. "UGH." He was having a moment, thinking about knowing her back then. "Baby, you would have slayed me for sure," He placed a soft kiss on her lips then smiled. "God saved you for last because I wasn't ready."

"I'll find some pictures for you," she brushed her lips against his a few more times. "God held me to last so you could have it for the rest of your life, baby."

The sun was just about to go all the way down, and he was laying all the way back on the lounge chair, pulling her body even more up onto his. "Please let me get a picture of you." He lifted his head off the pillow to capture her lips real good this time as he hummed against them.
