Chapter 27

It was Valentine’s Day, Nicki had made pasta for them and picked up dessert from their favorite bakery. 

He made a photo album of the pictures he’d taken from her room after the accident. He told her the stories of their pictures as they ate.

“That was delicious babe, thank you,” Justin said. “I have something else for you, go sit on the couch.”

Nicki sat and waited, and soon Justin returned with his guitar. 

“I started writing this the day of my birthday party, working on it until it’s perfect. It definitely reflects how I was feeling then, hoping to help you back to me.”

He started strumming his guitar before singing. 

If I wrote you a symphony,

Just to say how much you mean to me,

What would you do?

If I told you you were beautiful,

Would you date me on the regular, 

Tell me would you?

And I ain’t seen myself another girl,

This ring here represents my heart,

But there’s just one thing I need from you

Say “I do”

He stopped playing, gazing into her eyes. 

“Nicki, will you marry me?”

Before she could say a word, she kissed him deeply. 

“So is that a yes?” Justin laughed. 

“Yes, it’s a yes.”

Justin pulled the ring from his pocket, putting it on her finger. 

“We never got to celebrate last time,” Justin said. 

“We’re gonna celebrate tonight, and for the rest of our lives.”
