After having dinner together, Josh offered some tea and Eve agreed. She enjoyed spending time with him and didn’t want to go home, yet. 

„Here you go.“ He said, placing her cup in front of her.

Then he sat down next to her at the kitchen island with his cup in his hand. 

„Josh…“ Eve said, turning serious. 

„Yes, my love?“ 

„I deeply regret, that I stopped believing you would wake up. If I didn’t lose hope, things would be different today.“ She confessed. 

Josh put his cup aside, turning in her direction. Then he grabbed her hands. 

„You saved my life. Are you aware of that?“ He asked, looking deep into her eyes. 

„But it doesn’t change the fact that I gave up on you.“ 

„Eve, listen to me. If you didn’t decide moving on at some point, you would have lost your mind.“

Eve sighed quietly. 

„Justin was an unbelievable friend. He was nothing else but selfless and patient, doing anything he could to support me and Jake.“

„I know. I told him how grateful I am for everything he did for you.“ 

„He even took care for your clients to save your firm.“

„Yes. He made an amazing job with this.“ 

„We owe him so much…“ 

„What are you trying to say, Eve?“ 

She needed a second to answer. 

„I can’t leave him, Josh.“

His heart stopped beating for a moment. Was she just telling him, that she already made her choice?

„What does it mean for us?“ He asked with breaking voice. 

„I don’t know. All I know is, that he doesn’t deserve getting hurt.“ 

Josh sighed. 

„I agree, that he doesn’t deserve getting hurt. But if you say, that you stay with him just because having pangs of conscience, I’m not accepting that.“ 

„It’s not like that. My love for him is real.“ 

„But is it strong enough to give up on us?“ 

Eve didn’t know how to react. If she’ve had an answer, things wouldn’t be as they are. 

„Josh. I gave Justin another chance for a reason…“ 

„Are you talking about Jen? Are we really doing this again, Eve?“ 

„Why are you turning upset? It’s not like nothing happened between you and her.“

„You are wrong. Nothing happened between us.“ 

„How can you say that?! You wrote each other countless messages! And then she suddenly showed up in the hospital! She travelled across the whole country because she believed you wanted her back!“ 

„I didn’t ask her to do so!“

„Still she did. And then you kissed!“ 

„She kissed me! All I was trying to make her understand that I made a mistake!“

„YOU BROKE MY HEART!“ She suddenly screamed, not caring about his explanation. 

Tears were running down her cheeks. 

Josh closed his eyes, lowered his head and sighed. 

„I’m aware of that.“ He said quietly. 

Eve sobbed.

„I’m sorry… this leads to nothing… I shouldn’t freak out like that…“ She apologized.

Then she stood up. 

„Eve. Don’t go like this. Please.“ He said, grabbing her hand. 

She looked into his sad eyes, regretting the fight. Slowly he raised himself, standing in front of her now. Then he pulled her closer to his body and embraced her. 

Eve immediately hugged him back, inhaling his scent. 

„I’m back with all of my love for you and Jake. No matter what happens, I will always love you more than anything else in this world. Don’t forget that.“ 

Justin returned into his hotel after a TV gig. He made himself comfortable in bed and called Lance to inform him about the recent events.

„I’m speechless.“ Lance said, after hearing the whole story. 

„Come on bro, we did weirder things back in those days.“

„I’m not talking about your threesome, T.“

„Then what are you talking about?“

„That Joey’s idea becomes reality.“

„Which idea?“

„That Eve should be with both of you.“

Justin sighed. 

„Sharing her for sex was one thing. But I can’t imagine sharing her in general.“

„Why not?“ Lance asked eagerly.

„How on earth should this work?“

„Exactly as it works now, but with C.“

„Dude… no… I love C but… no…“

„Don’t dismiss the idea before thinking about it. It could solve all your problems.“

„How should I explain all of this to my kids? They would be completely disturbed.“

„I don’t believe that, T. Your boys grow up in a completely new world. You can be whoever you want to be. And you can love whoever you want to love. Society never has been as open minded as it is today. There are no boundaries anymore and this is absolutely amazing.“

Justin thought about what Lance said. 

„You’re right. But I can’t imagine having a life like this.“ 

„No one is forcing you. Just do yourself the favor and think about the option, before you say no.“ 

After talking to Lance, Justin called Eve to say good night. She just arrived home with sleeping Jake and put him into bed. 

„Hey, babe.“ Eve said, after picking up. 

„Hi, beautiful. How was your day?“

„Pretty surprising, to be honest.“

„Why?“ 

Eve explained, that Josh showed up in her office and that he watched Jake, while she was doing yoga. She also told him about their conversation after having pizza together.

„I’m surprised, that he let you go back home.“ Justin replied. 

„Well, he told me I could stay the night, as Jake was already sleeping. But I decided going home.“

„Why?“ 

„Because it felt wrong staying.“

„Why?“ 

„I believed this might hurt you.“ 

„But I told you, that you can do with him whatever you want and I meant it.“

„Still, I believed it would hurt you and this was not what I wanted.“ 

„Stop working up into ideas about what might hurt me or not, Eve. When you wanna stay the night, then stay the night.“

„Honestly, I don’t like when you say those things. It’s sounds like you don’t care anymore.“

„You know exactly this isn’t the case.“

„Then don’t say it.“ 

Justin sighed. 

„I don’t wanna fight, baby.“ 

„I don’t wanna fight, as well.“ 

Justin changed the subject. 

„I talked to Lance about everything.“

„Okay… and what did he say?“ 

„That both of us could be with you.“

Eve chuckled.

„Mateo suggested the same. Must be a gay thing.“ 

„Lance said it was Joey’s idea.“ 

„Oh. I didn’t expect him being that open minded.“

Justin made a short pause. 

„Can you imagine being with both of us?“ 

Eve didn’t expect he would ask that question. 

„I’m not gonna lie, the idea is very exciting. But I can’t imagine how this should work.“ 

„That’s exactly what I told Lance.“

„And what did he say?“

„That it’s the same like now, just with C.“

„I wished it was that simple.“

„The question is, would you still give it a try, if we said yes to this?“

„Yes, I would.“
