Next day the situation between Eve and JC at work was the same. He tried acting like nothing happened, but it cost him all his strength hiding his excitement, every time they talked to each other. Eve was terribly tensed as well, hardly being able focusing on her tasks. Richard returned to work that day and noticed, that something was wrong with her. But she didn’t tell him what was going on. She didn’t talk to Nicole about the recent events, either. 

Short before lunch break Nicole called Eve on landline. She picked up. 

„He’s here!!!“ Nicole squeaked. 

Eve frowned.

„Who’s here?“

„Justin!!! He just entered the open space office!!!“ 

Eve’s heart accelerated. 

„Don’t hang up! I need to look busy!“ 

„What?!“

„I don’t wanna talk to him!“

„Why not?!“ 

„Because he pissed me off!“ 

„That’s ridiculous!“ 

Eve saw Justin coming closer. She turned away and continued talking to Nicole about senseless stuff. When Justin finally reached her desk, she just gave him a quick look and continued talking. 

„Yes, I’m almost finished, you’ll get the file in the afternoon.“ 

„That’s absurd.“ Nicole replied.

„Yes, let’s talk about the details later.“ 

Justin realized Eve wasn’t interested in talking to him and continued walking. When he entered JC’s office and closed the glass door, Eve deeply sight. 

„Thank you,“ she said to Nicole. 

„Why you did that? I don’t get it.“ Nicole replied. 

„I wasn’t prepared to see him.“

„I understand you’re disappointed, that he didn’t ask you out. But maybe he will ask you today, if you stop acting weird.“ 

„I don’t care anymore.“

Nicole scoffed. 

„Okay, I have not time listening to that nonsense. See you later for lunch.“ 

Then she hung up. Richard gave Eve an irritated look. She rolled her eyes. 

„Don’t ask.“ 

„You’re pissed off, because Justin didn’t ask you out?“ Richard asked anyway.

„Yes. I’m pathetic. There’s nothing more to say.“

„You’re early,“ JC said, when Justin let himself fall at his sofa. „I need to finish an email, before we go.“ 

„Please hurry, I’m starving.“ 

JC continued typing. 

„How are things with Eve?“ Justin wanted to know. 

„Unchanged,“ JC replied, focusing on his email.

„You need to ask her out.“ 

JC gave him an annoyed look. 

„Stop putting me under pressure.“ 

„What the hell are you waiting for?“ 

„I don’t wanna discuss this again.“

„Coward.“ 

„Fuck you, T.“ 

Justin scoffed. Then he stood up and left his office. JC was watching him sneaking up to Eve from behind. She was engrossed in reading a document and didn’t notice. Richard gave Justin an irritated look, as he stopped standing behind Eve’s back. Then he bent down to her ear. 

„Hey beautiful,“ he whispered. 

Eve terribly frightened and hastily turned in his direction. 

„Do you wanna kill me?!“ she blamed him.

He shook his head. 

„I wanna have your number.“ 

Eve was shocked, trying hard to process. Justin smiled sexy and grabbed his cell out of his pocket. He unlocked it, opened his contact list and gave it to her. She was completely overwhelmed with the situation. He pierced her with his clear blue eyes, waiting for her to type. 

„Do it. You have nothing to lose,“ she talked to herself in her thoughts. 

Finally she entered her number and returned his phone. He gave her another sexy smile, before he went back into JC’s office. 

„What the fuck are you doing?“ JC hissed. 

„If you don’t make the first move soon, I’ll grab the chance,“ Justin replied boldly. 

„Jeeeeez, this is so exciting!“ Nicole cheered, when Eve told her about the latest news during lunch. 

„I didn’t expect any of this.“ Eve replied.

She wasn’t sure, if she did the right thing, as she gave Justin her number. She asked herself why she made things that easy for him, although she was having a serious crush on JC. 

„I knew this would happen!“ Nicole said next. 

„I didn’t.“

Richard was joining the girls and listened to their conversation, while sipping some still water. He decided not eating anything to avoid another allergic shock. 

„Maybe Justin will show up at the party tomorrow night,“ he said. 

Both girls looked at him surprised. 

„You really think he’ll show up to our anniversary party?“ Eve asked. 

„Well, it wouldn’t make sense under usual circumstances. But maybe he’ll come to see you.“ Nicole said. 

Eve raised one eyebrow.

„Now you’re working up into this a little too hard, don’t you think?“

„We will see, darling. We will see.“

After lunch, Eve needed to talk to JC about his schedule next week and entered his office. 

„Do you have a minute?“ 

JC gave her a stern look. He was terribly disappointed, that she gave Justin her number and couldn’t hide it. 

„Not, yet,“ he answered harshly and gave his attention back to his screen. 

Eve was irritated about his coldness. She didn’t reply and returned to her desk.

In the late afternoon, when the whole staff was already gone, Eve still didn’t talk to JC about his schedule. Before finishing work as well, she went into his office again. 

„Can we talk now?“ she asked him. 

JC gave her an annoyed look.

„Can’t you see that I’m busy with other stuff?“ he replied.

Evie turned upset, not understanding why he was talking to her like that.  

„What’s your problem?“ she talked back. 

„I have no problem,“ he replied. 

„If I upset you in any kind, I have a right to know what it was, don’t you think?“ 

JC’s eyes were filled with deep anger. 

„I have trouble to understand your unprofessional behavior,“ he finally said. 

She raised her eyebrows and crossed her arms.

„What the hell are you talking about?“ 

„I’m talking about the way you’re dealing with Justin.“ 

Eve’s heart dropped. Was this really happening? 

„Which way am I dealing with Justin, in your opinion?!“ 

„Inappropriate!“ 

„Because of what?!“

„Instead of focusing on your work, you flirt with him whenever he shows up!“ 

„I’m not flirting!“ 

„Stop shitting me, Eve! You just gave him his number, for god’s sake!“ 

„So, that’s what this is about?! You are pissed off because I gave him my number?!“ 

„Yes! That’s what this is about!“ 

„Why is this a problem?!“ 

„I expect my assistant not acting like a needy fangirl!!!“ 

Eve was outraged.

„Did you really just said that???“ she yelled at him.

„I really just said that!!!“ he yelled back. 

„It’s you who acts completely inappropriate!!! Not me!!!“ 

Furiously Eve turned around and left his office. Every cell of her body was filled with deep anger. She grabbed her bag from her desk and rushed to the elevators. JC watched her walking away. His veins were flooded with adrenaline. Suddenly his rage turned into panic. 

„Fuck! What did you do?!“ He blamed himself in his thoughts. 

Eve stopped standing in front of the elevator, pushing the button countless times. All she wanted was getting out of the building as fast as possible. Finally one elevator arrived. She stepped inside and pushed the ground floor button. 

Before the doors closed, JC suddenly rushed inside. Eve didn’t expect him running after her and gave him another outraged look. 

Then everything happened terribly fast. JC stepped in front of her, grabbed her hips and pinned her against the opposite wall. He pushed his body hard against hers, cupped her face with both hands and pressed his lips on hers. Being completely overwhelmed by the unexpected situation, Eve felt like passing out any second. She closed her eyes and responded his passionate kiss. His soft lips on hers felt incredible. She opened her mouth and let his tongue slide inside, meeting hers. Her mind was completely clouded by his irresistible taste. Their breaths gone deeper with every second, while their hearts beaten out of control. She felt his arousal being pressed against her core. Eve didn’t reply. She passed him by and left the elevator. She stopped standing outside and gave him another deep look. He stared back at her. Then the doors closed. 

Eve hurried out of the building and took a deep breath. She was completely flustered, trying very hard to sort her mind.

JC leaned against the wall and grabbed his face with both hands, while the elevator was returning upstairs.

„What now?“ he was thinking. „How on earth you will deal with this?“
