Eve waved to get Andrea’s attention. She immediately waved back and went with Tom in her direction.

„It’s so good to see you!“ Eve cheered, hugging the older woman closely.

„It’s been a while, Evy. I missed you,“ Andrea replied.

When both released each other, Eve took a closer look at Tom.

„Good lord… you… you like… my… Tom…“ she stammered.

„He really does,“ Andrea confirmed. „Well, it’s not a surprise. My sons looked like twins although they weren’t. And now my grandson does, as well.“

„It’s nice to meet you, Eve,“ Tom said politely.

She came closer and gave him a warm hug.

„Um… please meet Justin. My fiancé,“ Eve said next.

Andrea looked at him curiously.

„I have the feeling, I know you from somewhere.“

„Oh, this must be my ordinary face. I hear that all the time,“ Justin joked.

„Grandma, he’s a very popular singer and actor,“ Tom explained.

He didn’t know much about celebrities and never followed Justin’s career, but there was hardly anyone on that planet who wouldn’t recognize Justin’s face.

„Is that true?“ Andrea asked surprised.

„It is true. But he became pretty lazy lately,“ Eve teased.

„I’m not lazy. I’m retired,“ Justin corrected her.

„So, you’re Silas’s dad, right?“ Tom asked next. „I was wondering, if he was related to you when I got the wedding invitation with their full names on it.“

„Lizzy didn’t tell you earlier?“ Eve asked.

„No, I guess she didn’t want to overwhelm me with her extraordinary life back home,“ Tom replied.

„Evy, are you saying you’re engaged to the father of your son in law?“ Andrea asked irritated.

„It sounds weird, when you say it this way.“

„It is what it is, honey,“ Justin teased.

After having a five course dinner in the ballroom, it was time for the wedding dance.

„Okay, I must admit, this is really cool,“ Justin said to Eve.

Silas put off his jacket and the vest and changed into a simple black button down shirt. Lisa changed into a floaty light pink mini dress. There was a stage in one corner of the ballroom. Both went upstairs and stopped standing in the middle of it. Silas was standing behind her. Then the lights turned low and the music begun to play.

Now I’ve had the time of my life

No, In ever felt like this before

Yes I swear, it’s the truth

And I owe it all to you

[…]

All guest begun cheering wildly, when Lisa and Silas begun dancing. There was no better wedding dance for them than this. Silas loved the memory, how Lisa taught him dancing the Mambo to prepare him for his Dirty Dancing casting back in those days. Both agreed this very old cheesy song was theirs forever.

They danced perfectly till the end, even doing the lift. Silas was little tensed, as Lisa was pregnant, but she insisted doing the whole choreography.

Their guests were absolutely amazed by their impressive performance, giving them standing ovations.

Silas pulled Lisa into his arms. Both smiled all over their faces and kissed like no one was watching.

Later that night, Lucy was looking for Eve, but didn’t find her anywhere in the ballroom. They didn’t have any chance to chat, yet.

„Matty, did you see Eve?“ Lucy asked, meeting him at the bar with Sarah, drinking cocktails.

„She needed a moment to herself,“ Mateo answered.

„Oh no…“

„She’s fine, don’t worry,“ Sarah added. „You’ll find her in the garden.“

Eve was sitting at a small wall, sipping Champagne and staring down the cliff at the quiet beach.

„Hey…“ she heard Lucy saying.

Eve forced a short smile.

„Hey.“

Lucy sat down next to her.

„I was afraid this place and the date would open wounds.“

„They didn’t open wounds,“ Eve replied. „I love being here with all of you, celebrating Lizzy’s and Silas’s big day.“

„Then what is it?“

Eve’s eyes filled with tears.

„I simply miss him, as I do everyday. I wished so bad he was here tonight, witnessing our beautiful daughter becoming Silas’s wife. It’s not fair he’s missing all of this.“

Lucy grabbed Eve’s hand and squeezed it gently.

„We all wished he was with us.“

Eve wiped away her tears.

„I’m sorry I sneaked away from the party. But I didn’t want Justin seeing me like this.“

„Honey, there’s no reason hiding your feelings from Justin. He would understand.“

„Of course he would. It’s not because of this. I just didn’t want to upset him, as well. I know he misses Josh, as much as I do. We’re both not over him, yet. I believe we never will.“

Lucy smiled calmly.

„But Justin makes you happy, right? You both make each other happy.“

Eve nodded.

„He gives me more love I could ever ask for. I’m unable to express how grateful I am to have him in my life. He saved me more than just once from losing my mind. I never wanted him more, than I do right here right now.“

Lucy continued smiling.

„Save those beautiful words for your vow.“

Eve smiled back.

„Did he tell you, that he’s planning our wedding on his own?“

„He did and gave me the whole picture. But don’t you dare asking.“

„Come on, Lu. I don’t even know the date.“

„Forget it.“

Both looked at each other for a moment.

„Do you feel little better?“

„Yes. Thank you for distracting me.“

Lucy stood up and grabbed Eve’s hand again.

„Come on, let’s have another piece of Cinderella’s castle. It’s delicious.“
