Lisa felt caught, when her mother found her crying in her car in front of the house. Eve was the last person she wanted to talk about what just happened at the beach. She exited her car and rushed into the house. Fortunately Phin was still asleep. She changed into her PJs again and laid down in bed next to him. Phin turned into her direction and embraced her body from behind. His gesture of affection made her burst out crying again. Her guilty conscience was giving her the rest.

Phin woke up slowly, noticing that she wasn’t okay. 

„Baby, what’s wrong?“ he said calmly and turned her onto her back to see her face. 

She didn’t dare looking into his eyes. He watched her for a short moment, before taking a deep breath. 

„Okay. It’s time to talk, Lizzy.“ 

„Phin…“

He interrupted her.

„I know it’s a lot for you that Silas came back. I understand you’re overwhelmed by the whole situation. But I need to know what this means to us. Are you crying because he opened wounds or are you crying because you can’t be with him?“ 

Lisa’s heart pounded wildly against her chest. She was scared what would happen, if she told him the whole truth. Slowly she raised her upper body. He did the same sitting in front of her. 

„I met him this morning,“ she said with shaky voice. 

„Okay. And why?“ 

„We needed to talk.“

Phin nodded. 

„It makes sense after all you’ve been through. But obviously you aren’t happy how your conversation ended.“

Lisa lowered her head, her eyes being filled with guilt and desperation. She just couldn’t lie to him. He didn’t deserve being betrayed like this.

„Phin…“

„You still love him,“ he interrupted her again. 

She didn’t dare looking at him, being terribly tensed. But he grabbed her chin and made her look into his eyes.

„Do you want him back, Lizzy? Is this what’s going on here?“ 

Lisa felt like exploding any second, if she didn’t tell him the whole story. 

„Silas showed up at my party. When I saw him, If felt like dreaming. He brought me to our beach. Before there was a chance to talk, I just kissed him. And then… I wanted more…“

Phin immediately turned pale. He released her face, just staring at her, like seeing a ghost. Lisa continued explaining. 

„He didn’t know I was with you. But now, as he knows, he regrets badly what happened that night. Believe me, the last thing he wanted is you getting hurt.“ 

Phin was still staring, hardly being able to process what he just learned.

„You slept with my brother… just like that… like nothing ever mattered what happened between you and me…?“ he stammered. 

„It’s killing me what I did to you. I’m shocked about myself, that I was capable acting this way.“ 

Phin jumped out of bed, turning deeply upset. 

„You’re obsessed with him! Are you aware of how sick this is?! You need some serious help, Liz!“ he yelled at her. „I was an idiot believing I could be able helping you out of your misery. I was such a stupid idiot…“ 

Then he went into the closet and started dressing himself. Lisa stood up as well, grabbed his hand and made him turn into her direction. 

„Please don’t go like this,“ she said, crying badly. „You’re right with everything you said. I am a mess. But you’re the only one who can handle me. You showed me I can have a good life without Silas in it. You made me love you, although I believed it was impossible for me to love anyone else but him. You were my cure, Phin. When I lose you now, I’m gonna lose my mind for good. Please don’t give up on me. I’m begging you, please don’t…“ 

He stared at her for a short moment, with the coldest eyes she’ve ever seen. 

„You fucked my brother. We’re done.“
