Lisa was lying in her bed, being on a drip. As she saw her mother entering the room, she immediately started crying, feeling scared and completely overwhelmed with the whole situation. Eve hurried to her bed, sat down next to her and hugged her carefully. 

„You scared me to death… good lord, Lizzy…“ 

Lisa was crying badly. They held each other for a moment, until she calmed down a little. 

„How… how did that happen…? I don’t understand,“ Eve asked carefully, as they released each other. 

Lisa looked away, being afraid telling her mother the truth. But she also knew, there was no way out of the situation. 

„Lizzy, who did this to you?“ Eve continued asking. 

„I’m… I’m with Silas…“ she whispered, before breaking down in tears again. 

Eve’s jaw dropped to the floor. She stared at her daughter, being in deep shock.

„I can’t believe this… I… I can’t believe all of this…“ 

„I love him, mom. We both love each other,“ Lisa whined. 

„How he dared touching you… how he dared…“ 

„I wanted this, mom. He did nothing wrong… please believe me…“ 

„Nothing wrong? Nothing wrong?! He pregnant you!“

Lisa’s desperation couldn’t get any bigger.

„We’ve been careful. But one day the condom slipped… it must have happened that night…“ Lisa tried to explain. „I didn’t know I was pregnant. My period was late, but it happens to me all the time…“ 

Eve stood up, shaking her head. 

„This will have consequences. I’m not accepting that.“ 

„Mom… please…“ 

„I need to make a call.“

„Please, mom! Please don’t take him away from me! I’m begging you! Please don’t!“ 

Eve didn’t listen. She left the patient’s room and took a very deep breath. Then she grabbed her phone out of her bag and dialed Justin’s number with shaky hands. 

„Hey M, what’s up?“ 

„I need to see you. I need to see you right now.“ 

„What happened?“ 

„Si… Silas… he…“

„What’s with Silas?“ 

„Lizzy… she… she’s in the hospital…“ 

„Dear god, why?“

„She… she’s pregnant. The baby… it’s his…“ 

There was a pause. Justin couldn't’ believe what he was listening to. 

„Say.That.Again.“

„It is really happening… Lizzy is expecting his baby, Justin…“ 

Justin arrived twenty minutes later. He found Eve in the waiting area, staring into space. 

„Hey,“ he said, to catch her attention. 

Eve stood up and fell around his neck. He hugged her back tightly. 

„Thank you for coming,“ she said, being relieved, that she didn’t need to go through this on her own. 

Both released each other. 

„Where is C?“

„He’s in Orlando visiting his family. I tried to call him several times. But he doesn’t pick up.“ 

„Okay. Come on, let’s sit. You need to explain.“

Eve told Justin everything she’ve just learned, accept one thing. She didn’t mention, yet, that there was a way saving the embryo.

Lisa’s doctor appeared in the next moment. 

„Mr. Chasez. I’m afraid we need a decision now.“ 

„Which decision?“ Justin asked irritated. 

„Are you Lisa’s father?“ the doctor wanted to know.

„No. I’m the father of… the father,“ Justin answered. 

„I see. Please join me in my office to discuss the further steps.“ 

Both stood up and followed the doctor. 

„Could you please tell me what this is about?“ Justin said impatiently. 

„Of course,“ the doctor replied. „Lisa will have a miscarriage, if we don't stop her bleeding. I asked Mrs. Chasez to decide, if we should try to save the embryo or not.“

Justin needed a second to sort his mind. 

„What about Lizzy? She’s the one who’s pregnant. Shouldn’t it be her decision?“ 

The doctor nodded. 

„You’re right. But she’s a minor, who doesn’t know, yet, that there are methods to stop the bleeding.“ 

„Justin,“ Eve said, turning in his direction. „They’re giving us a chance saving our kid’s future.“ 

Justin thought about the consequences for Silas, if things came out. Having sex with a minor was illegal in California state. Having a kid with Lisa would have a serious impact on his life.“ 

„Lisa really doesn’t know?“ Justin assured himself. 

The doctor shook his head. Justin looked at Eve again.

„We should take some time to think about it.“ 

„There is no time left, I’m afraid. If we don’t stop the bleeding now, it will be too late,“ the doctor explained. 

Justin took a deep breath. Then he looked at Eve. 

„M… do you wanna live with this guilt?“ 

Eve’s eyes filled with tears. She knew it was cruel letting her daughter having a miscarriage. But the price was too high. Lisa’s future was on the line."

„This is the only right thing to do, Justin. Don’t you think?“

Justin closed his eyes and took another deep breath. Then he looked at the doctor. 

„Then it’s settled…“
