The doctor left the room, letting Eve and Justin some privacy to sort their minds. They sat next to each other at the doctor’s desk, processing the whole situation.

„How come we didn’t notice what was going on? I feel like an idiot,“ Eve said.

„I can’t tell, M… this is the last thing I expected to happen. It’s completely surreal.“

Eve turned in his direction.

„Justin. We… we can’t talk to anyone about what we just did.“

He looked back at her.

„What about C?“

„Let’s be honest here. We both know Josh would have never agreed to interfere so hard in our kid’s lives.“

Justin frowned.

„Do you really think he would have wanted to save the baby?“

„I’m not saying that. But I am convinced he would have given Lizzy the chance to decide.“

Justin looked at her for a moment.

„You’re right. Let’s keep this between us.“

Eve’s eyes filled with tears again.

„I feel like the worst person on earth.“

Justin stood up, took her hand and made her stand up, as well. Then he pulled her into his arms.

„Being a parent can be tough. We made this choice for your daughter to save her future. Moreover we’re saving the future of my son,“ he said to comfort her.

„But we just played god, Justin. We will burn in hell for this.“

Justin released her. Then he cupped her face with both hands.

„That’s not true, Eve. Lizzy is having a miscarriage because this pregnancy is not meant to be. All we did was keeping the doctor’s from playing god.“

Lisa was lying in her patient’s bed. She was exhausted from crying, just staring at the ceiling. Her doctor and a nurse entered her room. She looked at them with puffy eyes.

„I would like to check on you,“ the doctor said calmly.

„The bleeding didn’t stop,“ she whispered.

The doctor came closer and sat down at the edge of her bed.

„I’m afraid your baby is gone by now.“

Lisa just nodded, feeling completely empty from inside.

„Let me bring you to the treatment room to make sure.“

„I’m missing my bag,“ she said.

„Surely it’s still in the trauma room,“ the nurse replied. „Do you need anything out of it?“

„My phone,“ Lisa answered. „I need to inform my boyfriend.“

Eve and Justin were back in the waiting area, while the doctor was checking on Lisa. Suddenly Silas rushed inside, being completely out of mind. Eve couldn’t trust her eyes. She jumped up from her chair with rage in her eyes.

„YOU HAVE NERVES SHOWING UP HERE!“ she yelled a him.

Justin stood up, as well, grabbing Eve’s warm. He was relieved nobody else was around at the moment.

„Please calm down, M.“

„Where is she?“ Silas asked, obviously being deeply concerned.

„THIS IS NOT YOUR BUSINESS! GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE!“ Eve screamed.

„I need to see her. Please… let me see her…“

„HOW DARE YOU ASKING TO SEE HER AFTER ALL WHAT YOU’VE DONE!“

„Eve. You really need to calm down,“ Justin tried to intervene.

„I’M NOT CALMING DOWN! HE BETRAYED ALL OF US!“

„You’re right with everything, M… but I need to see Lizzy,“ Silas begged.

„I TRUSTED YOU! I NEVER BELIEVED YOU WERE CAPABLE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF MY DAUGHTER! HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ALL OF US?!“

Silas’s desperation was killing him. He was unable thinking clearly. All he wanted was seeing Lisa and being there for her.

„I’m sorry… I’m so sorry…“

„SCREW YOU SILAS! YOU CAN’T COME HERE AND JUST APOLOGIZE! I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU FOR WHAT YOU’VE DONE!“

Justin stood in front of Eve. He grabbed her upper arms, looking in her eyes.

„Eve. I understand you’re in rage. But this is not helping right now.“

Eve’s eyes were still on fire.

„I want him to go, Justin! I can’t be with him in one room!“

Justin nodded. Then he turned in Silas’s direction.

„This makes no sense. You need to leave.“

„Dad… please… I’m begging you… let me see Lizzy…“

„YOU WILL NEVER SEE HER AGAIN!!!“ Eve screamed.

„Eve… come on… you can’t be serious…“ Silas replied.

She released herself from Justin and stepped in front of Silas.

„I was never so serious, as I am right in that moment! If you dare seeing her again, I’ll go to the cops and report you!“

Silas’s stomach dropped to the floor. He didn’t expect her going that far. Justin was shocked, as well. He understood Eve’s anger. But threatening Silas with legal steps was the last thing he expected.

„Eve. I love her…“

„No!“ She interrupted him. „You didn’t just hide your relationship with my minor daughter! You’ve been also stupid enough to pregnant her! Do you know what that meant for me in your father? We just needed to decide, if the doctors should try saving the baby’s life or not! Now we must live with the guilt, that we let Lizzy lose the baby to save her future and your ass from landing in jail!“

Silas stared at her in disbelief. He was unable to process what he’ve just learned.

„You better go now,“ Justin added, looking at his son.

Tears of pure desperation were dropping on Silas’s cheeks.

„I never meant to cause any harm,“ he stammered.

„Get.the.fuck.out.of.here,“ Eve said again.

Silas wiped away his tears. Then he turned around and left the situation.

Eve and Justin looked at each other.

„I need to know, if you’re on my side, Justin,“ she said, calming down slowly.

„What are you trying to say?“

„I really meant what I’ve said. I don’t want him seeing Lisa again.“

Justin grabbed his face with both hands, taking a deep breath.

„We live in one neighborhood, Eve. What you expect is impossible.“

„You don’t understand what is happening here.“

„Then explain to me.“

„Lisa’s obsession with Silas is a serious problem.“

„Maybe Lizzy needs some professional help."

Eve nodded.

„I’m not denying the fact, that my daughter should see a therapist urgently. But Silas must go. He can’t be around, while she’s healing from that trauma.“

Justin looked at her and nodded.

„Okay. I’ll talk to him and find a solution.“

In the same moment Eve’s phone started ringing. It was Josh. She immediately picked up.

„Josh! For god’s sake! Where the hell have you been?!“

„I’m sorry, love. I forgot my cell at my parent’s place this morning after having breakfast with them. Did something happen?“

„You better sit down…“
