It was early in next morning. Eve was already awake, drinking coffee at the patio. She hardly slept that night, being still completely devastated about the whole situation. Suddenly she heard the front door opening up. She went inside and saw Jessica rushing in her direction.

„Eve!“ She said excited. „I can’t find my son!“

Both stopped standing in front of each other.

„What does it mean?“

„When Justin told me what happened, I went to Nash’s to see Silas. But he wasn’t there anymore. Nash didn’t know where he went. So I tried to call him. But his phone was switched off. I was driving around the whole night to find him. But no one have seen him or heard from him. It’s killing me not to know, if he’s okay. It’s killing me!“

Eve listened carefully. Of course she understood her friend’s desperation.

„Justin mentioned yesterday on the phone, that he offered Silas to stay at his apartment in New York for a while. Maybe he went there?“

„No,“ Jessica immediately said. „I called the neighbors on the spot. No one is in the apartment.“

„And what about your house in Montana?“

„Same situation. It’s driving me crazy…“

Eve didn’t know what to say. She felt sorry for Jessica, although she was still incredibly mad at Silas.

„Come on, let’s sit and have some coffee.“

„I can’t sit and have coffee with you!“ Jessica contradicted. „My son is gone!“

„He has a lot to process right now… maybe he just needs time by himself to sort his mind…“

„What, if something happened to him?“

Her eyes filled with tears, which she couldn’t control. Eve came closer and embraced her body tightly. Jessica hugged her back and started crying badly.

„I know the whole situation is unbearable, Jess.“

Jessica released her slowly.

„How is Lizzy doing?“

„Honestly, I’m afraid what will happen when she wakes up. Yesterday she’ve had a hysterical breakdown when she read Silas’s goodbye letter.“

„He wrote a goodbye letter?“ Jess asked surprised.

Eve nodded.

„Maybe he told her where to find him?“

„No,“ Eve answered. Josh sneaked into her bedroom, when she was sleeping and read the letter. Silas didn’t mention he was going away or something.“

Jessica wiped away her tears and took a deep breath.

„It’s a nightmare. I wished I would just wake up any second.“

„I know,“ Eve replied. „This was the last thing I expected to happen to all of us.“

Suddenly both heard someone screaming in front of the house. They exchanged confused glances. Then they hurried to the front door and went outside.

„Good lord, Lizzy!“ Eve shouted, seeing her daughter lying on the ground. „What happened?!“

Lisa tried to sneak out of the house through her window. Unfortunately she lost her balance by climbing down the tree. She fell off and hurt her left foot.

„LEAVE ME ALONE!“ Lisa screamed at her mother.

She tried to stand up by herself, but she couldn’t strain her injured foot.

„Please let me help you, honey,“ Eve said calmly.

„NO!“ Lisa screamed again. „YOU RUINED MY LIFE! YOU RUINED EVERYTHING!“

Jess was watching the scene, not knowing what to do. In the same moment Josh appeared.

„What is happening?“ He asked irritated.

„Lizzy must climbed out of her window, trying to escape“ Jess explained.

Josh went towards her and helped her standing up.

„What are you doing, Lizzy, hm?“

Lisa didn’t reply. Josh lifted her up and brought her back into the house. She gave her mother a dismissive look while passing her by.

„Why is Lizzy so angry at you?“ Jess asked.

„She needs someone to put the blame on.“

„Why you?“

„Because I’m not allowing her to see Silas.“

Jessica decided to leave and continue looking for her son. Eve said goodbye to her and returned into the house. Lisa was lying at the sofa. Josh brought a cooling pack and put it on her hurting foot.

„Maybe you should see a doctor,“ Eve said carefully.

„NO!“ Lisa hissed.

„Hey, pumpkin. Stop yelling at your mother,“ Josh rebuked her.

Lisa’s eyes filled with tears.

„Of course you’re on her side! You’re always on her side!“ she blamed him.

Josh sat down at the coffee table, looking at her.

„Lizzy, listen to me. Everything what happened to you is the consequence of your own actions. No one in this room is responsible for your heartache, but you. If you’ve been honest from the start, things would be very different today.“

Lisa scoffed.

„This is ridiculous,“ she replied. „You would have never let me see Silas!“

„Why would you say that?“ Josh talked back.

Eve was irritated about his response. She stared at him like seeing a ghost.

„This must be a joke, right?“ Lisa replied. „He’s nine years older than me. You always used to say, I should get him out of my mind, because of his age!“

„Lizzy, for god’s sake. I never imagined Silas would be interested in you some day. That’s why I said all this things to you.“

„Honey, what is happening here?“ Eve asked irritated.

„I’m just trying to explain to her, that we would have certainly find a way to deal with the circumstances, if both of them had been honest.“

„Um… what?!“ Eve replied.

Lisa was also completely overwhelmed, just staring at him.

Josh sighed.

„You can’t control love. If this is what both wanted, it’s not our right to intervene,“ Josh said to Eve.

„Jesus… I… I really don’t know what to say, Josh…“

„Me, neither…“ Lisa stammered.

„You’re eight years younger than me, honey. It’s the same situation,“ Josh added.

Eve needed a second to process. This was too much for her nerves.

„Please let me see him, dad! Please, let me see him!“ Lisa begged.

„We don’t know where he is,“ Eve interrupted her.

Lisa hectically raised her upper body.

„What does that mean?!“

„Silas disappeared.“
