Chapter 02: Home

Finally, about 2 day's later she reached her hometown after many pit's stops for food, gas, and sleep. The town she grew up in, the town she had her memories in. She smiled as she drove down Main Street, it was exactly the same. There was the Corner store that was probably still owned by Randy Timberlake, she was really good friend's with his son Justin when she was younger. The little kid's of the new generation were out riding their bikes and laughing. She smiled as she looked around, she didn't know why she left. Actually, she did and it was because of one name: James Lance Bass. She sighed as she turned the corner on Oak Road drive, and kept driving, till she reached her childhood house right at the end of it. She stopped her car, and parked. She looked around at everything it was the same. She sighed and got out of her car, and headed towards the door. But before she could, the door was already opened, and her mother stepped out.

"Jocelyn??" she screamed with happiness
"Moma" Jocelyn said smiling
Her mother, Dianna ran down the steps of their house and into her daughter's arms.
"My baby, she's home" Dianna said smiling hugging her daughter tight
Jocelyn smiled as she hugged her mom back. It did feel good to be back in her mother's arms.
"Jeff!" Dianna called
Her father stepped onto the porch "What??" he called back
Then looked at who his wife was hugging, and he ran down the step's towards his daughter and hugged her tightly. Jocelyn smiled as he swung her around, she hugged her dad tightly. She definitely was a daddy's girl, and she knew it. Finally their hug ended, and Jeff looked at her.
"What are you doing here?" he asked smiling
Jocelyn smiled "What? I can't visit my family?" she asked looking at them
"Of course you can baby..." Dianna said smiling "We're just surprised to see you..."
Jocelyn smiled "I'm sorry I didn't call first..." she said
"It's alright don't worry about it..." her mother said "Jeff get her bag's..."
Dianna put her arm around her daughter's shoulder, and started to walk towards the house "I'm sure she's tired..." she said
Jeff walked towards the truck, and took out her bags and walked into the house behind Jocelyn and Dianna.

Jocelyn walked inside, and looked around her childhood home. It was just like it was 7 year's ago the same color walls, then same couch. Jocelyn smiled as she took off her jacket and looked around at her home.

"You hungry baby?" Dianna asked as she walked into the house with her daughter
"No" she said simply
Dianna looked at her "Oh come on...have some of my pie..." she said smiling

Jocelyn looked at her mom, and shrugged then sat down on the couch. Jeff came in, and put her bag's down by the front door. Dianna went right into the kitchen to get some pie and milk.

"What have you been up to baby?" Dianna asked as she walked into the living room a couple minutes later with her plate of pie, and milk.
"Nothing much..." she said taking a bite of her pie
"How's Josh?" her mother asked
Jocelyn swallowed her bite of pie and looked at her mom
"Well...ummm...we kind of broke up" she said looking at her mom, hope she wouldn't ask any questions.
"Awww he was sweet what happened?" she asked
"I um...I really don't want to talk about it" Jocelyn said sipping her milk
"Oh...well that's ok...we have plenty of time how long do you plan on stayin?" she asked
"I'm not sure...I've been working non-stop for awhile...I just needed a break" she said, semi telling the truth, she had been working non-stop and was planning on taking a break but her break up with Josh triggered it.

There was silence as Jocelyn finished eating her pie, and drinking her milk.
"So how is everyone?" she asked putting her plate down
Dianna smiled "Everyone's great" she said "Allyson...you remember her right?"
"Yes mama...it hasn't been that long, she was only my best friend" Jocelyn said
"Yes right...well she has a baby now...10 months" she said smiling
"OMG...that's wonderful...so her marriage with Joey is going well then" she said smiling
"Yes I’m sure it is..." Dianna said
Jocelyn had gotten an invitation to Allyson's wedding, but she had to be at a book signing that day, and couldn't make it. She sent a wedding gift and her words but she knew Allyson would be really disappointed in her.
"What's her name?" Jocelyn asked
"It's Jenee " Dianna said
"Awww...I'm gonna have to pay a visit tomorrow" Jocelyn said smiling
"You should...she would be very happy to see you, they live a little outside of town on a farm" Dianna said
"I think I will...so how about everyone else? Does Randy still run the Corner store?" She asked smiling
"Oh yes...he's there...Justin works there quite a lot now" she said
"Aww how is Justin?" Jocelyn asked smiling, she remembered when he was quite the cutie back in high school.
"Justin...well he's doing good..." Dianna said smiling "Lance is doing really well for himself" she said out of the blue
Jocelyn looked at her mother "That's good" she said with a fake smile, she really didn't want to talk about him at the moment.
"And umm...let's see Chris is a psychologist up in New York" Dianna said
"No kidding...the gremlin finally made it huh?" Jocelyn said laughing
"Jocelyn!" her mother said, at her daughter's rudeness
Jocelyn laughed "Oh moma...I'm just playing around" she said smiling

Dianna looked at her daughter, and they continued to talk about all the people that still lived there and that Jocelyn grew up with. As they were talking, there was a knock at the door. Jeff walked to the door, and saw who it was.
"Come in" Jocelyn heard her father say "Jocelyn's in for a visit"
Jocelyn smiled, and stood seeing who was at their front door. Jean Anderson was in the hall way holding a freshly baked pie.
"Jean!" Jocelyn said getting up quickly and hugging her tightly
Jean was Allyson's mom, they were close friends
"Jocelyn" she said "It's true then..."
"What's true?" Jocelyn asked
"That you're in town" she said smiling "here..." she handed Jocelyn the pie. Jocelyn laughed and took it smiling.
"Randy thought he saw you driven into town...and you know this town...nothing stay's a secret forever" she said
Jocelyn laughed. They all sat down and talked awhile catching up on things. Awhile later Jean left and Jocelyn went into her old room, and unpacked. Her mother was making dinner while her father was watching TV. Jocelyn was in her room sitting on the bed looking out the window. She loved growing up here, and living here, being friend's with everyone. As she looked out the window, memories flashed

*FlashBack*

16 year old Allyson and Jocelyn walked down the hall of their only high-school. They stopped at their locker, to get their books out before lunch. Allyson was telling Jocelyn about the dress she was going to wear to homecoming. Jocelyn was listening as she got her books out.

"Jocelyn its soo beautiful" she said "Are you gonna go?"
"Ehh..." Jocelyn said
"Oh, come on" Allyson begged
"No date" she said
"I know someone..." she was cut off
"Guess who?" hands covered Allyson's eyes

She giggled as the mysterious person started to tickle her, and kissed her neck lightly. Jocelyn looked at who was behind her, and rolled her eyes, it was Allyson’s boyfriend: Joey Fatone. Allyson giggled as Joey wrapped his arms around her waist. Jocelyn closed her locker.

"Ready for lunch?" Jocelyn asked
They nodded, and started to walk towards the lunch area
"So Jocelyn, found a date yet?" Joey asked as they sat down at their familiar table.
Jocelyn rolled her eyes "If you must know...no I haven't" she said
Allyson giggled, and whispered something into his ear, and she smiled. Then their closest friend's, Justin and Chris walked over with their lunches and books.
"Hey guys" Jocelyn said "Thank god, you showed up"
"Why?" Justin asked "Love birds buggin?"
"Hey!" Allyson pouted and hugged Joey close
"Aww puppy love" Chris said laughing
"Yea right, 9 years from now they'll be married with a kid" Justin said (how true was that)
"Hey Jocelyn" they heard, and turned and saw 'Lance' walking towards them. Jocelyn smiled and waved back, he then sat down next to her where Justin was sitting and pushed him away. Justin looked at him with a half scowl, and was going to say something when Chris nudged him and shook his head.
"What's up?" Jocelyn asked
"Listen...I know its last minute, but...I've heard you don't have a date for homecoming so...you wanna go with me?"
Jocelyn could feel her face burning, as she looked into his beautiful green eyes.
"Um...sure" she said
"Hey, want to double date?" Allyson asked
"Yea, that would be awesome...we'll exchange info Bio" Joey said to Lance. They knew each other pretty well before.
Lance nodded "Great" he said then looked at Jocelyn and winked "Talk to you later"
"Bye" she said
He got up and left the table. Justin moved towards Jocelyn, as she looked at Allyson in shock
"OMG!" Jocelyn squealed and laughed
Jocelyn and Allyson started talking and laughing at they made plans for homecoming. Justin looked at Joey as he moved back to sit next to Jocelyn
"What a jerk" he said
"J, just be happy for her will you..." Joey said

*End Of FlashBack*

Jocelyn laughed at her thought's, she did have a great day, and homecoming was a dream. And that day started a great relationship with Lance that lasted 2 1/2 great years. There was a knock on her door that brought her out of her thoughts.
"Yea?" Jocelyn said
"Dinner's ready" her mother called
"Ok, I'll be right out" she said
She got up and put on a sweater, even in summer it got a lil chilly at night. She then walked out and had a nice meal with her family.
