Reviews For Heavier Things

okay i know i'm kinda being a hog here with the comments thing but since ur replying i wanted to ask you what you were thinking when you first started writing from sentence number one of she got me? I mean were you just going with the flow of your own thoughts or did you kinda have a clue already of where they would end up and the whole story? people tell me i'm a good writer and i do have thoughts about things like what you wrote about but i get so nervous when i go to write them down cuz i'm scared i'm gonna mess up and i used to not care about messin up but now i do for some reason and if i can get passed that i might be an okay writer again. So how do you relax when ur writing?

Author's Response: Your question just made me realize that today is my one year anniversary here at NF.com lol! But anyway, WOW, that is such a good question. I dunno, I don't even think I do relax anymore. It's sad, because writing used to be a lot more fun for me when I didn't worry about every single word sounding right -- I just wanted to make sure the flow was more or less where I wanted it to be. Lately, though, I've just become consumed with trying to make everything perfect in spite of the fact that I'm NEVER going to get there lol. So, I guess we should both get back to where we started and just let our words flow from the heart. When I started writing She Got Me, I had no intention of letting anyone actually read what I'd written, so I think a lot of it came from not really caring where I went with it because it was just for me. In 2002, I only got as far as Justin and Michelle becoming an 'official couple' and I stopped writing it for about a year. In 2004, I decided to post at a message board and the incredible feedback just gave me confidence and it pushed me to keep going. When I first started, there was no trip to London, no Christmas in Memphis or even the thought of Michelle cheating. It was just something I concocted because after the debacle of Britney and Justin, I wanted JT to be able to find the beauty of a very average girl, not unlike myself, that was doin' her thing in college and just tryin' to maintain. As I sit here thinking about it, I'm realizing how much easier it was for me to write when I was the only one who'd read it. Basically, just do your best to throw all of your fears out the window and just let it flow. The reason I've been doing most of my writing from the First Person point of view is because I find that it's a lot like writing a diary. It's just letting your thoughts emanate from your head onto paper. So, if the writing you're doing is fictional or poetry or something of that nature, I'd suggest letting the narration take an 'I' standpoint and just see what comes out. It gives me a fluidity that I can't seem to grasp when I write from Third Person. And just go for it and let your thoughts flow. I really didn't mean to ramble this much lol, but I loved your question, so I hope that I at least somewhat helped with an answer. And if you need anything, an opinion on your work or whatever else, feel free to email me. =D

I'd have to agree. Today is just the day where emotions are everwhere. Things are just happening today and this is just one more thing to add to that list. I love the stories and I think it is so beautiful that you are so 'attached' to your stories. Once again, thank you for writing an amazing story. J&B!

Author's Response: I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one that's being all extra sappy today lol. Thank you, Nikki, for being a constant feedbacker (...is that a word? lol) over the course of these stories. And right about now, I wish I wasn't so damn attached, but they're my babies! Thanks for lovin' them with me, though. It means the world!

Dang gurl! Seriously that made me emotional. I'm proud of what a wonderful writer you are and how amazingly you wrote the 3 stories. You put so much into them, and so many people got so much out of them. Congrats on a terrific job, flawless stories. And being able to complete it the way you did brillant. You had us all laughin, crying, yelling, you had us doing it all through the stories. There is one thing that you should change because then the stories wouldn't be what they are. I am looking forward to anything that you have in store in the future. Because with the relflections on this story anything you write I'm sure will be amazing. Wonderful job!!

Author's Response: Danyelle, I thank you so much for each and every word of each and every review. You've been a wonderful support to me and your feedback always came to inspire me -- even when I didn't think anyone was reading lol. I did put a lot into these three stories, trying to bring the characters to life without really knowing just how to do that. But I learned along the way, so I hope that you got out of it at least some of what I did. Thank you for helping to mold the experiences I've had with Justin and Michelle. You're wonderful, and I hope to see you around for the next batch of insanity lol. =)

Aw, damn Ashley. I'm so emotional today and this is the time you choose to write this? LOL. I cannot tell you have real Michelle and Justin have been to me. I'm so glad that I've been hooked since "She Got Me". That beautiful mind of yours created the wonderful world of theirs. It was all make believe, but the powers of your words made it a reality. You made it real and relatable and I cannot tell you how much I admire you and your skills. This series of perfection is the best things I've ever read. I felt everything. And when I say everything, I mean the anxiousness of Justin when he nervously crashed his car into Michelle's, the feelings of hurt when Justin didn't make it to Michelle's ceremony and decided to make up for it with diamonds and roses, and I for damn sure felt every word in those vows you wrote. The love and passion. The hate and disgust. Everything was amazing. So, I want to thank you for being the author that you are and for giving me the opportunity to read your work and tell you how I felt in every review. I'm not just saying that because you're my homeslice either, LOL. You're the shit and don't let anyone convince you otherwise ;-)

Author's Response: Ahhh, more crying! Thank you, thank you, thank you. I could say it a trillion times but it wouldn't even begin to tell you just how much your words mean to me. Michelle and Justin are certainly real to me, so my head is spinning from the compliment. If I've even evoked half the emotion from you that I've gotten from writing about them, then I can say with a happy heart and mind that my job is done here lol. I'm glad that you're able to recap some of your favorite moments, because the things you mentioned are where I really feel like I did some of my finest work. For taking the time out of your life to sit down and enjoy my words and the feeling that I tried to put behind them is proof that you, my dear, are THE shit. Squared. Once again, thank you and I love you for it. =D

sorry i just had to comment again. Man I just still can not believe that they went from meeting in the mall to him thinkin she cheated on him to her singing drunk at his show to her dating that toni guy to being pregnant and her fighting with her cousine and the superbowl they hit each others cars he waited outside her house when he found out she was pregnant she got mad at that super model he left her the hospital they had twins! JESUS! i'm sorry but it's hard to believe all this is the same story. i had to back track cuz when u said the end i automatically started thinking about all this. I thought u were gonna talk about the honey moon but the way u ended it with the wedding was perfect and i had to actually take breaks cuz i was about to cry. i think i'm gonna go back and read some of my fav chapters of the whole thing.

Author's Response: Aww, I love how you just went through the whole story there -- it gave me a bit of nostalgia lol. Now that it's all finished, I might actually go back and read it from beginning to end and look at the mess I've made LOL. Honestly, I can't believe that all of this started from a meeting at the mall, either. And I can't believe that I was only 18 when this all began, and now, three years later, those two crazy kids have a family together. It's an overwhelming notion, now that you've got me thinkin' about it lol, but I'm just glad that you loved the ending. I was going for perfection, so I'm just all warm and tingly inside, knowing that that's what you got out of it and that you're ready to go reread about some of their craziness. What a wonderful fan I've got in you lol. Thank you!

Author's Response: God bless YOU for such inspring, thoughtful words. You got me crying even harder than I already was, so forgive me if this doesn't make sense 'cause my vision is gettin' all blurry lol. I can't even express my thankfulness for how encouraging your feedback is. I started this story with my best friend 'cause we were bored one day, and because of the amazing support, it somehow manifested into this fairytale. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking this adventure with me and with them and I appreciate the review. Thank you for crying with me and wanting to get married, too, 'cause Lord knows I do right now LOL! So, now I feel a little less dorkish and just completely touched by your words. OMFG! It's over? NOOOOOOOOOOOOO But it's happy, which is so not like Michelle and Justin, LOL. OMG! LOL! That's all I can say. I don't think I can tell you in words how beautiful that chapter was. That was fantastic, sugar. I loved it.

Author's Response: Girl, you are a trip. Thank you for bringing me a reason to laugh through all these joyful tears I'm crying at the moment lol. You've been the epitome of a true homeslice through the past three stories. You don't know how much it meant to me that you took the time to reply to all those chapters of She Got Me when I was at the ending of Can't Let You Go lol. That's dedication, dude. You're such a wonderful support system, and I'm honored to have your talented ass as one of my readers. You are the definition of awesome, Marianne, and I'm so happy for the camaraderie that we've formed over the past few months. Thank you for letting me use you as a wedding planner lol. Thank you for reading. Thank you for being a wonderful breath of fresh air with every chapter that I write. I love ya, girl! And I promise that I'm gonna finish gettin' lifted as soon as I can lol. Muah!
