He closed his eyes as the salty waters rushed up and gently tapped his feet before rushing back down to the depths of the ocean. He stared ahead of him at the upcoming sun that barely peeked over the tree tops, it's reflection glimmering brilliant colors over the ocean waters. His heart was somewhere else, though. Not seeing the beauty in front of him. His heart was broken, shattered, kept in a box enclosed at someone's doorstep. He rather not go back and claim it. What's the point of having a broken heart? He left it...along with his memories and yesteryears. No more living in the past. It was time to move on...

He slowly walked down the sandy shore, brushing the soft pebbles between his toes as he went along. He only wished he could enjoy it like a normal person. Normal. All he had wanted was to be normal for a little while. Just a minute or two. He couldn't. Not with his heart missing. He wanted it back now. He missed when he was able to love someone. He just couldn't anymore. Not the way he used to. He didn't enjoy anything anymore. Why did she have to go and break his heart? All he ever did was love her. Is love truly a crime? He was sure that she was the one. Together forever. A bunch of lies and bull shit. That's all it was. That's all it ever was. The last time he had told her he loved her, she looked into his eyes and told him the same. Only this time, they were lies. Those 3 words that they had held so sacredly with each other were just used. Like him. Used for amusement then replaced. Oh, yes. Replaced. She moved right on along. New boyfriend, new friends, new cell phone number,
new...life. He was no longer a part of that life. Of her life.

Taking a seat on the soft, cold sand he ran a hand through his short hair. Not much to do there. He remembered when he had first got it cut. Shaved. She had gone totally ballistic on him for chopping off his beautiful curls. Beautiful. She always said he was beautiful. Now he's just ugly. Ugly and alone. No one for him in the world. All alone. His hair was growing back now at least. Shaved didn't work too well for him. He liked it how it was now. Just...short. Not too short, not too long. Perfect.

Maybe there's still a little hope.
