Chapter 12: Telling the one person who cares
Traci hurried to the mall and sat down at her and Alyssa’s usual table. She sat there for about 5 minutes when she felt a tap on her shoulder; she turned around and saw Alyssa already with a shopping bag.
“Hey!” Alyssa said sitting next to her. Traci smiled
“What’s wrong?” she asked her friend who seemed a little down
Traci shrugged and looked at her sadly.
“Is it Justin?” Alyssa asked
“I made the biggest mistake of my life Aly…” Traci said looking at her
“What happened?” Alyssa asked
“You can’t tell anyone ok?” Traci said “I mean it”
“Ok…just tell me” Alyssa said
Traci sighed as she put her elbows on the table and her head in her hands. Alyssa looked at her concerningly. She rubbed her back.
“Aly…I…I…” Traci said as she burst into tears “I slept with Josh” she said in almost as whisper. Alyssa looked at her in shock, as she sat back in her chair.
“Oh my god!!” Alyssa said looking at her
Traci burst into tears as she laid her head on the table and cried
“I ruin everything. You’re gonna hate me, and tell Lance, then he’ll tell Justin and then…I’ll be kicked out, and have no where to go”
Alyssa sighed as she rubbed her back.
“I don’t hate you…” Alyssa said “I’m just surprised”
Traci looked at her
“When did this happen?” Alyssa asked
“Last night…” Traci said “After he came home from work”
Traci looked down at the table.
“You want to stay at our house tonight?” Alyssa asked
“No… It’ll just cause more trouble” Traci said
“No it won’t” Alyssa said “Just come over please”
“You’re not gonna let go of this huh?” Traci asked
“You bet your @ss I’m not” Alyssa said. Traci giggled
“Come on, lets do some shopping…then we’ll go home ok?”
“Ok” Traci said and hugged her “Thank you” Alyssa smiled “Welcome, come on”
They both stood up, and walked around the mall and shopped. About 3 hours later, they had fun shopping and it took the problem off of Traci's mind for awhile. They were walking out of the GAP
“OK…I can’t go into one more store, I spent my limit” Traci said with a laugh
“Well, I can…I haven’t spent Lance’s limit yet” Alyssa laughed
“Aly!” Traci said
“I’m just kidding” Alyssa said with a laugh “Come on…let’s go”
“I’ll meet you at your house ok?” Traci said as they walked to the parking lot
“OK…just go right behind me” Alyssa said
“OK…my cars that way…see you soon” Traci said as she walked off
“BYE!” Alyssa said
They got into their cars, and Traci followed Alyssa home. Alyssa had called Lance to tell him that Traci was coming to stay the night, making up an excuse like she didn’t want to be home alone, which was half true, she didn’t want to be home alone with JC. They got to the house, and went inside. They had a fun night of being best buds. Soon everyone was ready to go to bed. Traci was on the couch in one of Lance’s old shirts under a blanket looking at the ceiling. She could hear Lance and Alyssa a little ‘busy’ in the next room. She giggled as she heard Lance moan. She turned on her side and closed her eyes and soon fell asleep.
