Emily thinks her lovelife is decided for her...she can't possibly fall in love, or even be attrated to a man...not now. Putting someone through the pain and agony would be too much guilt for her to live with. It wouldn't be fair, so she decided to push aside her love life. All of that changes when she meets JC. After admitting to herself that she is attracted to him, Emily fights...against dating him, their relationship, everything. In her mind, she's protecting him. She's protecting him from the one thing that could take her away from him: cancer.
