JUSTIN

After Melissa ran up to her room, I left. I got into the car with Lance, and I left. Looking back, I still sort of regret the decision. Maybe I could have offered her a few nice words.

Back at the hotel, we had another day off, and so I spent the day by myself. I did a lot of deep reflection and thinking. Was I really willing to not give this girl a chance because she was unattractive? I felt completely shallow.

But I didn't want to be with Melissa. I didn't want to be with someone who repulsed me.

I was thinking about all this when someone knocked on the door. I opened it and it was Melinda.

"What are you doing here?"

"I just wanted to say that I am sorry for deceiving you. And I am sorry for getting you into this situation. My sister's a big girl and she can take care of herself. I'm sorry that you thought she was someone she wasn't. That's all I wanted to say." She turned to leave. "Oh, and if you were wondering how I got up here, Lance let me up."

She left.

And I continued to think.
