A few days passed and it was time to go back to California. That was
one thing that made Kristina nervous. She hadn't stepped foot in that
home in months. Was it even still her home anymore? She could feel
her heart beating as soon as they got into the car from the airport.
Justin sensed her worrying and reached out for her hand and rubber
his thumb over it to sooth her. Kristina gave him a soft smile. Boy
did she love him because if she didn't, she would have never came
back. But something was off, they weren't going in the direction of
their house.
"Justin where are we going?"
"You'll see." Uh oh, you'll see? Why does that sound so……….fishy?
Justin pulled the black beemer up to a green gate covered by vines.
{What is this place?} Justin drove up the driveway. Trees surrounded
them with beads of sunshine pouring through them. Justin pulled up to
the house and stopped the car.
"Alrighty, lets go." Slowly Kristina got out of the car and looked up
at the house. It reminded her of how Estella from Great Expectations
mansion looked like before it decenergrated. It was so tall
and……..bricky. She probably would've stood there forever if Justin
hadn't grabbed her hand and carried her along with him and Justina.
Justin pulled open the and walked in.
"Wait a minute, Justin how do you have the keys to this place?"
"This place is our new home."
"Bullocks."
"Look around." Kristina moved through the hall. On the walls were
black and white pictures of the two of them. The picture they took in
Paris, one from their vacation in Spain, one from when she was
pregnant with Justina and many more that they took together.
Everything was just beautiful. Kristina gasped from everything set
up. "Come in here, look at this t.v." Justin took Kristina's hand and
carried her into the living room. It was just unbelievable and that
tv was just ridonkulous. Justin then took the two upstairs and showed
them around. Justina's room still had the same furniture but was
painted purple and gold instead of just plain gold. She was still
equipped with her Rocky and Bullwinkle, Dudley Do-Right toys.
"Justin this is too much."
"Nothing's too much for my family."
"I mean this house, we already had a house."
"So we have a new one."
"Justin--" Justin put his finger over her lips to stop her.
"That house would no longer be our home with those memories. We're
making a fresh start and that fresh start starts now. I've already
scheduled us a visit Dr. Cummings. I was told she was a good
psychiatrist and I've also got in touch with Pastor Zeily. We're
going to have to be healed mentally and spiritually. I love you
Kristina and I want--no I have to make us right. Do you trust me?"
"With all my heart."
***********************
"…..I just feel complete now that she's back with me." Kristina
listened to everything Justin told Dr. Cummings over the past hour.
He talked about his first try of drugs and how they made him feel.
How he was paranoid because he figured everyone would find out and
hate him including the child Kristina was carrying. He didn't
remember anything that happened that night with Veneska and Ruby but
he remembered waking up in a haze. As if he had been sleeping for
weeks and when he came back home and saw that Kristina was gone the
nightmare became real. The next few months were horrendous. Not only
had he had to deal with Kristina being gone and the drugs but he had
to deal with the whole suicide thing. Never in a million years he
thought he'd even attempt to kill himself but the void and pain of
dealing with Kristina's absence was more than he could bare. He
figured life without her was not life. Kristina listened on and cried
as he told everything that happened. She began to feel guilty, she
never thought she could make someone ever feel that way and she did.
She'd never forgive herself for the pain she put him through and
would understand if he didn't forgive her as well. But now it was her
time to talk and she wasn't sure if he'd want to hear it all.
"Kristina?"
"Hmmm? Kristina snapped out of her gaze and looked up at Dr. Cummings.
"I asked you what exactly are your gripes with infidelity."
"Um, I just don't like it."
"You just don't like it."
"You can be truthful, its ok" Justin whispered in her ear. "I can
take it." Kristina looked back at the doctor and took a deep breath.
"Um because its been the driving force of all the unhappiness
surrounding my life."
"What do you mean, explain."
"…….Well my father cheated on my mother while they were married. He
had a child with the other woman and left my mother for her. I barely
saw him throughout my life because he focused more on being the other
kids father than mine. It always made me feel like I just wasn't good
enough to be his child. Then there's my aunt, who's first husband
cheating on her. All three of my cousins have brothers and sisters
all the same age as they are by another woman. My sister's first
boyfriend cheated on her which crushed her for many years afterwards
and then their my best friend's father from back home. He cheated on
his wife with her mother and he's kept her in hiding all these years.
None of his family even know she exists. Cheating brings all types of
problems, all types of unhappiness. It just cements in my mind what
nagged at me for the longest that I'm just not good enough. I mean
that's why people cheat one other because they're lacking
something….and maybe, I just don't measure up." Kristina who was now
sobbing while she talked stunned both Justin and the doctor. The
doctor because she hadn't opened up yet until just now, Justin
because she actually thought that she wasn't good enough? Why would
she think that?! Of course she was good enough for him!! Why couldn't
she see that?! "Um can we take a break?"
"Yeah sure."
"I'm gonna go get some air." Kristina rushed out of the room and
outside. She hadn't paid any attention to the fact that Justin was
right behind her. He gave her a minute before saying anything.
"How could you think that?" Kristina still had her back turned to him
not saying anything. "Huh?"
"I'm never going to be what you want Justin…….never."
"Are you listening to yourself?! I'm married to you, we have a child
together!" Kristina swiftly turned around and looked at him.
"That doesn't always mean anything! My father didn't want my mother
and they were married and had a child--me! I'm never going to be good
enough for you! I'm not tall and skinny, I don't have blond hair or
blue eyes, a wash board stomach or big boobs. I'm not rich or famous--
"
"That's why I love you because you aren't all of those things. Ok,
you're not tall and skinny, you might not have naturally have blonde
hair or blue eyes or big boobs. But I love the fact that you're
shorter than me, I love your hair color and your deep brown eyes or
your curves. As far as being rich and famous, I had to start from the
same spot you are. I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth, I
had to work for what I got but I don't care about you being rich and
famous. What has these 2 years been to you? A lie? Is that what you
think?! I love you more than life itself and you know that. I don't
care what you are as long as you love me. You have a responsibility
of being a good mother and wife and I have a responsibility of being
a good father and husband. That's why we got married. Stop comparing
our lives to what your father did because I'm not him--we're not your
mother and father. We're better than that because together, we're--"
Justin did have to ramble anymore. Kristina silenced him with a kiss
to reminded him of the kiss he would give her after they made love.
"You make it too easy to love you, do you know that?"
"Ah shuttayapiehola" Justin moaned. They both laughed at each other.
"Not meaning to pry but there's something I want to speak to you
about. Though you will need a few more sessions you are obviously in
love with another. I want you two to go on a date."
"A date?" Kristina asked.
"Yes a date, I want you two to be reacquainted with each other. Go
back in time where Justin fell in love with Kristina, where Kristina
fell in love with Justin, think you can do that?"
"I think we can."
************************

Smile though your heart is aching
smile even though its breaking
when there are in the sky,
you'll get by.
If you smile through your fear and sorrow.
Smile and maybe tomorrow,
you'll see the sun come shining through for you.

Kristina shifted a little in the bed as Justin sung next to her face.
It wasn't too early in the morning because she wasn't much of a
morning person but he couldn't wait to wake her up. Kristina began to
slowly open her eyes and look over to Justin. He hadn't sung to her
in a long time. Well long because she far away. It had been months
since she heard him sing and right now it sounded heavenly. She loved
it when he sung to her.

Light up your face with gladness,
hide every trace of sadness.
Although a tear maybe ever so near.

Justin continued with the song as Kristina looked on. While he was
singing he scanned her face. She was just so beautiful. He knew that
she was his soul mate from the minute he laid eyes on her and nothing
in the world could change his mind. Those deep brown eyes focused in
on his and it just melted his heart. He moved on to her hair, it was
no longer blond. She took the blond extensions out and returned to
her brown/red hair. He loved the blond, that wasn't a lie but he did
miss the brown. He fell in love with her with that color and he'd
stay in love with her with that color.

That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile what's the use of crying.
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
if you just smile.

A stray tear fell from Kristina's right eye. Everything was just so
beautiful. Justin wiped the tear away from Kristina's eye. Justin
took her hand and gently kissed it before kissing her lips as soft as
he could.

That's the time you must keep on trying,
smile what's the use of crying.
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
if you just smile.

"Aw Justin…" that was all she could manage to get out. Everything hit
her like a ton of bricks, they were meant to be together and that was
the bottom line. Kristina leaned in and kissed him again. She reached
out and pulled him on top of her.
"As much as I want to do this, we can't."
"We can't?"
"Because we have to eat." Justin moved from the bed and grabbed the
silver tray from off the drawer.
"Oh my goodness" she laughed. "What is all of this?" There was too
much for those two to consume. Waffles, sausage, eggs, fruit, cottage
cheese, grits and hash browns, see what I mean by too much.
"Breakfast."
"Justin what are you trying to do? Get me fat?"
"Well I have to admit that you have lost some weight while you were
gone. I gots at have my booty back."
"Oh goodness" she laughed. "Well I'll try."
"Now granted these eggs don't taste like yours. Man I haven't had any
in a long time." Kristina stared off into space before getting up and
leaving. What was she doing? Ten minutes later she came back with a
plate full of eggs.
"Here these are for you."
"For me? You don't want any?"
"Believe me, I had them all the time, knock yourself out."
"Thanks babe." The two tried their best to put a dent into the
breakfast but of course they couldn't finish it all.
"So what are we going to do for the day?"
"Oh my dear that is a surprise, just wear something casual."
"Ooooookkkk, fine keep your secrets Timbercakes." Justin stopped dead
in his tracks and looked over her with this look of shock and
surprise.
"What did you say?"
"I said TIM-BER-CAKES!" Justin slowly moved over to the bed. She
wasn't sure what was going on in his mind. He had this blank look on
his face but that didn't stop her. She crawled up on her knees to be
more leveled. She wasn't backing down and he knew that. "If you think
I'm scared of you I'm not. Let's not forget I'm from the D and I'm
from southwest and--" Before she could say anymore Justin lunged at
her knocking her down on the bed. His fingers were everywhere
tickling her. Kristina was laughing so tears were coming out of her
eyes.
"Timber what?! Timber what?!"
"CAKES!!" she screamed.
"Nope!" Justin laughed at how determined she was not to give up but
she'd fold. "I'm not going to stop until you say it."
"Timberlake!" Justin stopped letting her breathe. "Punk!" she cried
punching him in the arm.
"You know you love this punk."
"Damn, yes I do."
"Ow you hurt my arm."
"Oh shutuppayamoufa."
"Shutuppayamoufa? That's a new one."
"Well I'm just a bucket of surprises."
**********************
Justin woke up on the lush grass behind their mansion. So far they
had spent the whole day with each other. It was like stepping back in
time. The afternoon felt like the first week they spent together when
she first came back to California. Everything felt so good. He heard
her laugh, he saw her smile and it made his spirit sing. Somehow they
laid back onto the grass and looked up at the clouds. Like a big baby
he could just fall off to sleep from Kristina rubbing his tummy or
through his hair and he'd fall right off to sleep. And just like a
baby herself, just being encased in his warmth made her drift off to
sleep.
"Kris--Kris?"
"Hmm?"
"We fell off to sleep."
"Hmm?"
"Wake up babe." Kristina opened her eyes and looked up at the now
darkened sky. Wow they really did fall off to sleep. Kristina sat up
and rubbed her eyes.
"What time is it?"
"7:10."
"We slept for 3 hours?"
"What you don't want to sleep with me any more?"
"I don't know, I've been trying to avoid cooties lately." Justin
grabbed Kristina and laid on top of her, pushing all his weight on
her.
"Cooties eh?" Justin began to put little soft bites on her neck
causing her to giggle.
"Ok, ok no cooties." Justin stopped and smiled down at her. "Is that
how you settle things? With violence?"
"Me? Violent? Aren't you the one from the D? Punching and pushing."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah." Justin pulled off of her and helped her up.
"Come on, we still have a date to go on." Kristina and Justin got
their selves together before heading out on this mystery date. Justin
wouldn't give her any clue on where they were going. When they pulled
up to their destination she was really confused. "The carnival? Is
this a good idea?"
"Its dark and it's a school night so we're good."
"You're sure?"
"Do you want to have the date in the car?"
"Ok, fine." Kristina got out of the car and walked with Justin in the
carnival. She was on pins and needles. What if someone recognized
him? Then they'd be in big trouble. Justin could feel the tenseness
in her and rubbed his thumb over her hand.
"Don't worry Mike is here, he's just in the shadows. We're here to
have fun capiece?"
"Capiece." The whole night had been wonderful. The carnival was just
what they needed. They practically laughed all night together playing
games, getting on rides. Justin kept forcing her to get on high rides
despite the fact that Kristina was scared of heights. His main reason
was because he loved the way she held onto him when she was scared.
He laughed to himself when she grabbed for him in the haunted house
ride, seriously what was so scary about that? Right now they were on
the last ride for the night, the ferris wheel. Kristina had her head
on his shoulder, holding his arm. She looked so comfortable. Justin
looked down at her and smiled. This was how it was supposed to be,
together just like this. Kristina moved her head up and looked into
Justin's crystal blue eyes.
"You're so beautiful." Justin swallowed the lump in his throat after
hearing that. No one had ever said that to him before.
"Wow…………really?"
"You're my inspiration. My world just seems a brighter place. I just
wanna tell you I've never ever felt this way, I've never thought I'd
see the day. Real love
Has come my way, and I know, that it's here to stay. And it feels
like never before. Cause loving you is so beautiful….." Justin leaned
in and passionately kissed her. He had heard her sing that song
before but never had the words meant so much to him. "I love you,
now, forever and always babe."
"I love you too sweetheart." After the ride Kristina and Justin
headed back home. Thank goodness Chris was just plain crazy over
Justina cause tonight was going to be all for them. "I have a
surprise for you."
"You know Justin, I'm pretty sure that's not a surprise" she laughed.
"Come on." Justin took her hand and walked her into the living room.
Kristina gasped upon the sight. The whole room was clear out and rose
petals filled the floor.
"Aw babe." Justin walked over to the stereo and pressed play. Their
song, My Confession began to play. She hadn't heard that song in so
long.
"May I have this dance."
"Hmmmmmm………hmmm………well………aw alright." She smiled. Justin wrapped his
arms around her waist and she wrapped her around his forearms. She
was too short to reach any higher.
"Remember the last night you were here when you first came to visit
me?"
"Yeah, I so didn't want to leave."
"And I didn't want you to leave."
"Yeah I know, you had to steel grip on my waist when we were at the
airport but the odd thing about it was I just wanted you to throw me
over your shoulder and carry me right out of there."
"Well if I knew that….."
"Well if you knew that who knows maybe things wouldn't be how they
are today."
"You're right."
"Who would've thunk it, just two years ago I was working at some over
priced pizza shop and now I'm married to the most wonderful guy in
the world."
"Aw shuck'ems."
"I see that Michigan is still rubbing off on ya."
"Yeah, yeah, anyways you're not the only surprised. Two years ago I
was down and depressed and a ray of sun shine came into my life in
the form of a beautiful woman inside and out. She gave me everything
I could hope for in a life companion. All the love in the world and a
beautiful daughter….now if I could just remember her name."
"Oh shut up" Kristina laughed.
"I'm kidding but all jokes aside I love ya babe."
"I love you too." Justin lured Kristina upstairs where he began to
fill her neck with sweet kisses. He returned to her mouth, slipping
his tongue inside to duel with hers. He explored the warm contours of
her mouth, his tongue taking what his body desired. When the need for
oxygen became too much, he broke the kiss and nuzzled her neck
affectionately. Kristina took advantage of this and nibbled gently on
his earlobe. She caught him off-guard, but he didn't complain. She
traced the outside of his ear with her tongue, then gently blew on
it, causing him to shudder. She knew what she was doing to him...she
could feel it against her. She began to grind her hips into his,
knowing very well what this would lead to. But she wanted to have
some fun first. She flipped them over so that she was straddling his
waist, then tore his shirt off of him. As he watched her in
amazement, she kissed her way up his body, her hands roaming over his
chest. Kristina unbuttoned his pants and slid them over his legs,
then did the same with his boxers. She trembled with anticipation
when she felt his bare skin against her own. She reached up and ran
her fingers through his hair, urging him to continue. Justin didn't
even bother with foreplay...he just needed to feel her. He entered
her in one swift motion, then began to move slowly. Kristina met him
thrust for thrust, wrapping her legs around his waist, pressing him
deeper into her. She tipped her head back and allowed herself to feel
every sensation that was rushing through her. Neither said anything
for their moans and sighs spoke for them. The way he was continuously
grinding into her was driving her crazy and she knew she was coming
close. They climaxed together and then, exhausted, fell asleep in
each other's arms. Tonight was just the thing to remind them how much
they loved each other and needed each other forever, plain and simple.
