The Writer
It slices through the water, breaking the distorted mirrors of reflections, creating waves where stillness once was. The growl of the motor interrupts the silence as the boat glides by. Behind, the mirrors return.
On board people speak to others, deciding to not take advantage of the seldom heard silence desperately trying to overcome the rackets, while I, the writer, shut my ears off to the noise and beg the silence to visit and spend a few precious moments with me. As little know, silence brings inspiration.
Few of us that know that these thoughts almost never cross our minds again. Take note! The things in your mind could one day make you famous and those thoughts be on the tongues of more people than one would ever know in their lifetime.
And now as the sun sets, painting a indescribable pictures on the water, I write to you my thoughts, sparsely, for as we all know the mind is quicker than the hand and we are much too complex. I fear to dwell on a subject too long that I may miss another thoughts. The most fortunate of all will be the ones who get these thoughts on paper and are able to share with all mankind.
