And the suspense keeps on mounting. I got a bad feeling about this, I really do.

Poor Libby. I can completely empathize with her. Maybe she is pushing herself a little too hard, but I also know what it's like to work so hard for so long and fall short anyway.

Author's Response:

Life's about to get pretty tough for Libs, and the rest of the group for that matter. She's worked so hard, and yet life's about to teach her a lesson that will change her whole life. Get out the tissues!

I couldn't help but crack up at these guys' ridiculous antics. I mean, seriously: "Joey, there's not enough room in here for your stomach!"

And just the way the guys whisked the girls away like that; talk about sweeping someone off their feet!

Awww. I don't blame the guys (or girls) one bit for their disappointment. So close, and yet still so far.

Author's Response: Exactly. I'm glad you enjoyed it, this is one of my favourite chapters :)

That's a cute way for Joey to "pop the question." At least he wasn't totally rejected. And needless to say, I loved the scene between Chris and Jamie. (Ironically enough, I've got a new story featuring Chris and a girl named Jamie! I only realized the similarities after posting the first chapter.)

Ugh, few things are worse than blanking out on a crucial exam. Math has always been my worst enemy.

Author's Response: I read your story earlier at work (whoops) but couldn't comment till now. I saw the name Jamie and laughed. Maths was my worst subject, too. I totally flunked it, but despite what my teachers said at the time, it hasn't affected me getting my dream job. So :p algebra and fractions! I'm not surprised Libby is distracted, I would be too ;)

Okay, I think that's more than enough alcohol for the kids! I don't envy them of the hangovers that are sure to come later with a bang.

"At her use of the word 'y'all' Clare smirked. Libby had no idea how funny it sounded in her English accent." I've got a European friend who loves to make fun of the way I talk when we hang out on Skype. She means it in a good-natured way, of course, and I get even with her by putting on a silly British accent.

Ah yes, the classic "Truth or Dare." I laughed at the dare to "go down the street and ask the first guy you meet to marry you.” Awkwa-a-a-ard!

I really liked the mention of "Chrystal from Utah" because I'm from Utah, too.

"Libby had witnessed enough *NSYNC fan hysteria to know that it could get a bit crazy." Um, ya think? I would say "a bit crazy" is a bit of an understatement. I've heard some per-eeetttty interesting stories about fan encounters and the lengths certain fans would go to just to get those five seconds of glory.

"As far as I can tell she hasn't changed," he said, his words cutting Clare to the core. Ouch, that's a painful one!

"Clare had already had enough of hearing him sing Alyson's praises. As far as she was concerned, the woman was as guilty as sin." I don't want to jump to any hasty conclusions myself, but I have a hunch Alyson's not that innocent (at the risk of sounding like Britney Spears when I say that) and JC is being a little too much of a "gentleman." Hmmmmmm.

"You think ‘Giddy, Giddy up’ is going to win you a Grammy?" Uh, yeah, I was never quite as fond of that song as the others, along with "Do Your Thing." Not that they're bad songs (I've definitely heard worse), but they lean more toward the bottom of my favorite *NSYNC songs. I'd say some of their best work includes "Tearin' Up My Heart," "This I Promise You," "Selfish," "Gone," "The Game Is Over," "It's Gonna Be Me" and "Bye Bye Bye." Even "Girlfriend" is pretty slick. (I still can't get over how hot the guys are in that video, especially Chris.)

And Alyson's sister is there, too? Didn't see that coming!

You know, the more I read this, the more I don't mind (so much) about taking my sweet time to get to the end. I've always had a knack for skipping ahead, so this is a good exercise in self-discipline. That says something about your storytelling skills, too, if you know what I mean. ;)

Author's Response: Aww thank you, that's really nice to hear. I'm a skipper, too. I hope you continue to enjoy it, I think the story starts to get interesting from now on. Things aren't always nice for the group, but no matter what they stick through it and help each other get through.

Quite the birthday party, I must say. It's great to see everyone smiling and having a good time...for now, anyway.

Unicornmaiden13 (Signed) on Aug 05, 2014 06:12 pm (Chapter 9)
Wow. Just...wow. This is not good, and I've a feeling it won't get better in a hurry.

Author's Response: Sadly no... poor Clare :(

Unicornmaiden13 (Signed) on Aug 05, 2014 05:54 pm (Chapter 8)
Boy-howdy, things are really picking up now. I'm not yet sure what to think about JC and his ex, but I like how Chris is always there for his mates. It's great to see how Chris isn't a total goofball all the time. I have to admit the part where Libby thought she'd broken Justin's nose was pretty funny (and even a little stomach-turning at first; I can only imagine what it's like to have a busted nose).

Author's Response:

Ha ha, thank you. I love that she nearly broke his nose. That'd be pretty embarrassing!

Man, I'm so tempted to skip ahead to the end to see how everything works out (or doesn't); I have to practically force myself to read this one chapter at a time. But this story is a lot of fun, especially when I really get into it. I'm glad to see a little more of Chris, and Jamie and Sara really perk my interest.

Author's Response: Aw, that's so nice to hear. Please don't skip ahead! For one it's not finished (haha) and two you'll miss out on everything! I promise to include more Chris, and I'm so glad your interested by Sara and Jamie. Jamie is a brilliant character, I think she's great.

You do a great job with the emotions. I'm really feeling for these characters. Love how you maintain a balance between humor, cuteness and drama.

Author's Response: Thanks so much, I've always been quite confident that I can get the emotion right. Plus I love the characters which I think helps.

I have a fondness for stories that take place 'back in the day'--especially the ones that were written back then. (I'm kind of reworking the very first fanfic I wrote back in '99.)

I really enjoyed the first chapter of this and I'm very much looking forward to digging into more of the story. Also, could that six letter password be another 'J' name? ;-)

Author's Response: Thanks so much for your review. I know the first chapter is long, but it seemed necessary to introduce everyone. I really hope you enjoy reading more. And as for the password... I couldn't possibly say! ;)
