As soon as the door opened Rylee found herself being attacked by her roommate.  She cringed as Christina squealed and spun them both around the room.

“You’re home!  I’ve been waiting all afternoon, what took you so long?”  Christina didn’t really giver Rylee much time to answer as she pushed the girl down the hallway and into her bedroom.  “Change into something comfy, we’re having a girly night.  I need to gush!”

She tried to stop her eyes from rolling, but Rylee just couldn’t seem to stop it from happening.  “Oh goody.”  She mumbled under her breath.  She was happy to be changing into something comfortable, she just didn’t want to sit and listen to Christina go on about Prince Charming and really drive home the point that Rylee would never get the guy.

“So, I went out and bought all kinds of junk food, and I made some brownies.  What do you want to drink?”

“Jack and coke, heavy on the Jack.”  If she was going to survive this night, she would need some help.

“Bad day?”

“Not too bad, just really long.”  So it wasn’t a completely lie, it had been a long day.

“Well then, this will be just what you need.  I got some comedies and some cheesy horror films.”

Rylee managed a real smile as Christina handed her a drink and plopped on the couch next to her.  Sometimes Rylee didn’t give Tina enough credit.  She was a great friend and she was always looking out for Rylee, it just seemed that everything (and by everything she meant guys) came much more easily to Christina.

“Thanks for this, Tina.”  She meant it, too.  She loved her best friend and it wasn’t really Christina’s fault that Rylee had a major crush on Justin.

“Anytime, love.”  She giggled as she sipped on her beer.  “So you’ve met Justin, huh?  Isn’t he just amazing?”

Here it goes.

“We met at the bar, remember that annoying guy I told you about?”  Rylee nodded and took a big gulp of her drink.  “That was him!  We’ve just started getting serious and he’s awesome.  I’m so excited you’re working with him!  You two are gonna get along great.”

Rylee wished that she had the confidence that Christina did.  She had absolutely no worries about Justin and Rylee because she knew that she had Justin wrapped around her finger.  Whenever Rylee was with a guy she was constantly worrying that they were going to leave her for someone else (namely, Christina).  That had happened a few times before, and it sucked.

“He seems really cool.  It was great getting to work with him in the studio, the man is a genius.”

“Yeah, I don’t know much about all that stuff, but he’s really hot!”  Rylee cringed inwardly.  This wasn’t the stuff she wanted to be listening to.  It also killed her that Christina wasn’t interested in Justin’s life at all outside of his looks and charm.  Music was a huge passion for this man, it was obvious after only five minutes of hanging out with him.

“He is pretty cute.”  Another large gulp of her drink saved Rylee from having to say anything else.  Their conversation seemed to stop after that and they got into one of the movies that Tina had brought home.

Over all, it was an enjoyable night with her best friend.  They didn’t get to do this very often because of their conflicting schedules, but it was nice when they could.  Rylee figured that she would eventually get over this thing she had developed for Justin, after all, he was totally off limits now.

Justin threw back the rest of his beer and let out a loud belch.  He reached out and took the new beer that Brett was holding out to him and sat back with a contented sigh.

“This is just what I needed.”  He grabbed a handful of chips and shoved them into his mouth, not caring about the crumbs that made their way onto his shirt.

He and Brett had finished up the project they were working on with one of their artists and they were taking this evening to celebrate.  Justin’s best friend Trace was with them and they were watching the Red Sox/ Yankees game.

“So, Justin, how’s that new intern that you were telling me about?”

“Fucking hot,” came Brett’s reply.  “That is one of the coolest chicks I’ve met in a long time.  If I weren’t married, I would most definitely be after that shit.”  Justin chuckled.

“Yeah, she is pretty hot.”  He took a swig of his beer and forced his mind to stop thinking about how hot he actually thought Rylee was.  “She’s got a great ear too, I think she’s gonna be great working in the studio.”

“Seriously though, you missed it when you when to lunch, JT, that chick has got one of the best ears I’ve met in a long time.  She was picking up on things that I might have missed the first time through.”  Brett tossed his empty beer can on the floor and cracked open another.

“Sounds like your sound guy has a crush on your intern.”  Trace laughed at his own joke and failed to notice that no one else was laughing with him.  He was pretty buzzed at this point, as were the other two men in the room.

A loud roar erupted in the room as the Johnny Damon hit a two run home run, bringing the Yankees up 3-5.  “Shit.”  Brett cursed.  He hated the Yankees.

“Does Christina know you’ve got a hot new intern?”  Trace had decided that Justin’s new girlfriend was a piece of work and he also thought that she was a little possessive over Justin and how he spent his time.

“It’s her best friend.”

“No shit.  Well that makes things interesting.”

“Not really.  Christina seemed excited that Rylee and I got to meet and that we’re working together.  I guess your theory about her being jealous isn’t a very good theory.”  Justin laughed as Trace flipped him the bird.

“Whatever, asshole.  I still think she’s going to be trouble.  She’s probably not worried about Rylee because it’s her best friend and she doesn’t think that there’s any competition between them.”

“Well I think that RJ could give Christina a run for her money any day.”  Brett injected his thoughts into the conversation and Justin just sat back and listened.  “No offense, JT, your girl is hot and all, but I would pick a girl like Rylee every time.”

Justin didn’t answer, but he couldn’t help but feel somewhat the same inside.  It was bad that he was thinking these thoughts and he chalked it up to being slightly drunk.  He liked his girlfriend, he wanted to be with his girlfriend, and he wasn’t going to fuck that up.

He needed to stop staring at her ass.

Justin forced his gaze to focus on the artist behind the glass in front of him, but it was damn hard.  Rylee was wearing these worn jeans that hugged her ass in just the right way.  She had on this t-shirt that said “My Daddy Drives a Chevrolet” and Justin noticed for the first time today just how large her chest was.

That reminded him, Christina had mentioned something about a nickname and said that he needed to ask her about it.  She said it had something to do with Rylee’s boobs.

“Hey, Ry, I’ve got a question for ya.”  He pried his eyes off of her ass just as she turned to face him.

“What’s up?”  She turned a few more knobs on the sound board before sitting back in her chair and facing Justin fully.

“What was your nick name in high school?” Justin hadn’t ever seen anyone turn as red as Rylee was currently turning.

“Did Christina tell you to ask me that?”  He nodded and almost laughed as she turned ever redder. “Bitch.”

“Well, now you’ve got to tell me.”  He sank back in his chair at the scathing look she threw his way.

“I’m really going to kill her.”  Rylee let out a sigh and Justin strained to hear what she said.

“What was that, I missed it.”

“I said Double D.  That was my nickname in high school.  Well, that and ‘Big Tits.’”  This time Justin couldn’t control his laughter.  He threw his head back and let out a loud guffaw.  “Thanks for laughing at me, it makes me feel really wonderful.  Oh, and I would suggest saying goodbye to your girlfriend tonight because I’m going to kill her.”

Justin chuckled for another moment and looked over at Brett who was still laughing too.  He did make the mistake of looking back at Rylee, though.  She was leaning over the sound board so she could speak into the microphone and direct the kid in the booth.  He could see the tattoo on her back, and he found himself staring at her ass again.

“How many tattoos do you have?”  Rylee seemed to jerk suddenly and she self-consciously tugged her shirt down.

“Six.”  She didn’t explain any further and Justin found his mind wandering to the places where those tattoos might be located.  He’d spotted the one on her foot and now the one on her back.  It excited him to think about where else those other ones might be hidden.

Rylee, on the other hand, was hoping that she wasn’t sweating as much as she thought she was.  Should could feel Justin’s intense gaze on her and it was unnerving.  Over the past week that they’d been in the studio together she’d been convincing herself that she only had an insignificant crush on him and she would get over it soon.

It wasn’t helping her cause when he looked at her like that.

There was a sexual tension that was developing between them and she was desperate to find a way to stop it.  Christina had been going on and on lately about how much she was feeling Justin and how great she thought it was.  It made Rylee feel really guilty about the things she’d been feeling towards him and she was trying very hard to ignore them.

She was aware of his every move as he stood from his chair and walked behind her.  She could’ve sworn she felt the faintest touch across the tattoo on her back, but Justin made now show of acknowledging it and Rylee couldn’t be too sure.

“I’m gonna head out and grab some food for us all.  I think we’ve got a long night ahead of us to finish this track.”  Justin motioned to the young kid behind the glass and rolled his eyes.  It had been a struggle to get things right today and he was starting to get frustrated.  “Pizza OK with everyone?”

There were no objections so Justin left the room and a silence filled the small space.

Brett was busy fiddling with sound levels, Jake, the artist they were working with, had come out from the booth and was quietly sipping on water and Rylee was trying really hard to get her mind off of the man that had just left.
