After his last girlfriend takes advantage of him, Chris loses all hope of ever finding someone who will love him the way he is. Jamie is a nice enough girl but falls a bit short of the media's expectations. When their paths cross, Jamie longs to be with Chris more than anything (and he finds himself wanting her as well), but she's afraid she'll never be good enough for him and he's terrified of giving his heart to the wrong person again. On top of all this, Chris's latest ex isn't about to let him go that easily.
Very nice chapter! Of course the King of Pop playing made it *that* much better. I feel so bad for my Topher. Hopefully he will figure out what is going on. Good to see you back, Mel. :)

Very short scene, but very creepy. Wasn't planning on making this into a suspenseful story but I realized it would add nicely to the drama and excitement and it saves the story from being your typical cheesy love story. Not that this story won't have plenty of fuzzy romantic scenes later, of course! I would still put it under the "romance" category.
As Chris set out on his own, he heard Joey shout, “I wonder if this is how Shaggy and Scooby felt when the ghosts were after them!”
I literally laughed out loud at that statement from Joey. And bravo..so excited to see you updated!
Author's Response: A nice little shout-out to Scooby-Doo, which I was also fairly crazy about as a kid. Today, I'm a lot more mellow, but I still enjoy an episode here and there.
Poor guys. I can't imagine going to the grocery store and people mobbing me in the frozen foods section. "Dude, I'm just here to buy a pizza."

Author's Response: Chris Kirkpatrick is woefully underrated, and while I have no objection to writing stories about Justin and JC, I intend to keep them mostly as background characters.
I haven't seen it either...and yeah, I can see Chris being prince charming when needed. And then being our spastic crazy loving goofball. Yes, you, Christopher. Okay let's try this review again. I had to catch up, my apologies for not reviewing every chapter. I loved this chapter! It was lighthearted and fun. I prefer hugs as well. I can't wait to see where you take this.
I hope Chris and Jamie can make time to be friends and possibly more. It will be interesting to see what happens.
Author's Response: I thought this chapter provided a nice balance with the other more serious chapters. This story's going to have a bit of it all: comedy, drama, suspense, and (obviously) romance. I think people can see what will become of Chris and Jamie a mile away, but they're probably still curious about how it comes out, what happens to them along the way.
Loved this chapter. Yay, a dinner "date" of sorts. And Allie just needs to wander off and forget she has Chris's number. And Justin..yes, I can see Justin or Joey lying through their teeth and being okay with it, at least when called for.
Author's Response: It's just a matter of when, not if. ;) Chris could easily change his number; problem is, he needs Allie's calls as "evidence," just in case, and now Jamie has access to that number and he doesn't want to cut her off, and imagine him trying to explain the reason for changing his number! All five guys are guilty of the sin of lying, but I'd say Joey or Justin would be the most suitable for this job. Plus, I decided to poke a little fun at Justin.

Okay so THANK YOU for a Chris story. (Always a sucker for those..and Kirkpatrick). I loved the awkward conversation between them..and yes, I will admit I cried a few times the day of Chris and Karly's wedding. Happy tears that he'd found her and they were so in love with one another with prayers for a blessed day. (My kids thought I was nuts to be wiping tears as I cleaned house and posted well wishes to FB and twitter). Anyway, very nice story.

Always welcome, mate! I wonder what Dani is up to these days; after FuMan Skeeto went out of business, she just...disappeared. So I had to use my imagination when writing about her, and that's the fun of fan fiction: you can make anything happen.
It's no shame to cry. Chris admits he even shed a tear on that day. I hope he and Karly get to have kids someday soon.
