Awwww. I loved the songs you used and it was hilarious that they messed up Lance's car. :) Thank you for writing it and for Kristen editing it for you. You are the best, sistah.
Wow...I have a newfound respect for that song. And your visual writing abilities. :) And yes, he should have paid attention to her. But when he did...the devil was in the details. And the hot car seats. Very nice.
When Joey falls unexpectedly ill, his mates become cool and distant. At the same time, he meets with a kindred spirit who leaves an astonishing and permanent mark on his life.
Winner of the Season 8 NF Awards for "Best Joey," and runner-up for "Best Characterization of Joey."
I loved the added twist and poor JC. I can't imagine his feelings on dealing with everything, and seeing Joey being sick. I'm glad they got to talk.
Author's Response:
That definitely explains a lot. I think if we all knew what a person was truly thinking or feeling, we'd have a lot more sympathy for them and not be so quick to point fingers.
Jake was inspired by Daisy from "The Great Gatsby." Gave every appearance of having it all and being a perfect match, but in truth was shallow and insincere.
I blame you for making me cry. But bravo, Mel.
Author's Response: I threaten to make myself cry sometimes. Parts of this story got me a bit choked up during proofreading.
Oh wow. Can't wait to where this goes. Love that it's a Joey story too.Great job!!
Author's Response: We need more Joey stories, and I'm happy to help where I can.
An hour later, Joey could be found simmering in the waiting room of the nearest hospital in the district. He sat as far on the edge of his chair as he could without falling off, his arms folded atop his knees, grumbling a steady stream of indistinct words to himself. On his left side, JC was quietly flipping through the latest issue of People and looking smug. Lance sat in the chair on Joey’s right side, toying with his phone, and Chris and Justin stood close by with Styrofoam cups of coffee.
I loved this short description, I could see it in my mind like the guys were sitting right here in my living rooom. Well if that wouldn't be something awesome. Anyway, I am so glad you are writing a Joey story. And yes, I agree about needing more Joey, Chris and Lance stories. I hope you will keep going on this, even thought it gives me a slight twinge in my stomach to think of what is coming next...even though it is just a story. Great job!!
Author's Response: Thank you. I believe in providing enough detail to give my readers a good idea of what's happening while leaving some room for imagination.
Okay so I want to go into a corner and bawl my eyes out over a story. I lost a Papaw to cancer and know many people going through or have gone through it. I love all of the feelings and emotions and everything else you write in and can't wait for more. :)
Author's Response: Sorry if I'm making you cry, but that also pleases me because it means my story's convincing. Since I plan to be a REAL author someday, this is a valuable skill.
Okay so can you like update NOW?? It's like crack. I'm addicted. Give me a hit please. A Joey hit. ;)
Author's Response: I'll update when I'm good and ready.
I can't wait to see where this story goes. And loved the ABBA reference and song.
Author's Response: Thanks very much! I love ABBA, too, and "Super Trouper" ranks among my all-time favorites. It's one of those classic make-you-feel-better-about-yourself songs.
She turned to the seventh chapter of Revelation, and she placed her fingertip on the seventeenth verse so that Joey could observe it, too. “Like this one here. ‘For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters, and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.’”
“If it doesn’t teach you to not believe in God, it teaches you to fear Him too much and trust Him too little. Knowing that God is aware of me and ready to welcome me home…that also helps me get by. Doesn’t mean I don’t hurt in the meantime, of course. Doesn’t mean I won’t miss my loved ones down here, either. But it’s easier to endure the bad when you have something good waiting for you at the other end.”
Okay so I said I wasn't going to read any more tonight. I lied..not in a bad way lied but I had to read more. And I loved those parts. Thank you for writing them...even as a part of a story I feel like they are important.
Author's Response: Sorry for taking so long to get back to you, but I really appreciate the review. Always means the world to me. :)
Hugs to you, other Mel. I can't tell you how pleasantly surprised I was to see this update. I am glad you're getting your writing spark back! As for everything else, I know you've heard this...that it will take time. And even though time has passed you will still have all the feelings and moments. I am thinking of you!!
Author's Response: I'm glad to be working on this story again. It's been on the back burner for ages, and now I feel it will help me.
Okay. I'm spoiled. I have to say I LOVE this story and as a whole it is one of the best overall NSYNC stories you have written. Just because of everything that happens in it. I can't wait for more!!
Love this story!! Can't wait for more. And no, Melissa Fatone can't resist Joey. He's the Italian Stallion. ;) You put in some of my fave songs in the tribute. ITSK and IGBM
