Ava McKinley has her own ideas about what love is suppossed to be. She's decided that she's had her fun, and wants to settle down and have kids before she's sixty.

Her only problem? Finding the love, and the man that fits the bill.

Justin on the other hand has been burned by love one too many times. He was a career, a life, people, and a routine that he's used to. He's given up on finding his true love and decides that other priorities are more important, and love just doesnt fit into the equation right now.

But fate has a way of turning things around, and making things fit where we sometimes dont see possible.

I just read strait through from the beginning. This is really a beautiful story. Justin's grief is so sad...but I love Ava's character and I'm thrilled he's admitted to how he feels about her.

I can see the tough road this could be..Ava seems to be completely understanding of what Justin is going through, but that last thought of Lynn's got me worried. I hope Justin doesn't end up hurting Ava while he goes through the process of letting go. As understanding as Ava may be, everyone has their limits.

Author's Response: Thank you! That really means a lot that you think that. This story is one of the most personal stories that I\'ve really ever written. It\'s the closest to my heart for sure.

Madison thought Justin as just a memory, what happens when they run into each other after years?

This is such an emotional story..I can empathize with both Riley/Madison AND Justin. As a 16 year old girl..I can understand why Riley ran scared from telling Justin. she was scared and hurt by how he treated her. He has to answer to that..BUT...She needs to focus on whats best for Amanda now...and clearly Justin wants to be a good Dad. She has to allow that for her daughter.

Hope you update again soon!

Well...That was a relief. Justin is a match..and by stepping up and saving his daughters life and sticking around..he may just be able to redeem hisself.

I LOVE the description of Cheyenne..Though she is a bit younger than the actress..her spirit reminds me of that adorable little girl that starred in that Disney movie "The Game Plan" for some reason..I just invision her like that. :)

Kiki..All I can say is that Justin is extremely fortunate that she is the type of person that puts the well being of her child before all else. She is able to set aside animosity..I understand why Justin should be allowed to take his rightful place in Cheyenne's life..it's best for her that she has her Daddy.

I know it's a distant secondary thing at the moment..but I hope that it is slammed home time and time again how terribly Justin hurt KIKI. He walked away from something great, and I want to see some reckoning for that..eventually. I can't help but resent his relationship with Cameron. He walked away from Kiki because what...he was falling in love? Why the hell is it ok to love Cameron?! If you were to bring them together again..I want him to have to work for it...HARD. lol

Alright luv..I'm done. Brilliant update..as always ;p

Author's Response: Haven\'t seen \"The Game Plan\" (I need to \'cause my other man - Dwayne Johnson - is in it looking all kinds of good lol), but from the previews I know the little girl you\'re talking about. She is adorable and yeah I would say Cheyenne has a personality like hers. Cute and percocious. Yes Justin is very lucky Kiki is such a good mother. She can put her own feelings towards him on the back burner (Side note: Justin and Kiki\'s past relationship WILL be addressed. Justin has not redeemed himself yet for that bretrayal in no way shape or form.) for the greater good, her child. Now when did I say Justin loved Cameron? ;) Thanx so much Dani for all the support you\'ve been giving my story. \r\n

It's a true testament to how good this story is when I feel like it's my birthday come early because of a double update! LOL

Very touching moment..First Kiki getting to hold Cheyenne for the first time since she had been hospitalized..and then Justin getting to hold her for the first time..well..ever. I'm glad that Cheyenne's eyes are the same color as Justin's. Just one more thing to drive home to Justin what a fool he had been to turn his back on his own flesh and blood. Sounds like he's getting it now though.

I'll hold you to the promise that Justin will make amends to Kiki eventually too. Ok..Ok..so he doesn't love Cameron..that just means he ran from Kiki like a little bitch boy. I hope he learns to man up! lol ;D

Ooo..Dwayne Johnson...*stares off dreamily* Yeah..he's yummy :P

Author's Response: Well then happy pre-birthay LoL. Cheyenne has a few traits - personaility and physical - that her father also has and it does play a part in making Justin see the small connection he already has with his daughter. Now Justin has manned up with one woman in his life, but he\'s got to get things straight with a couple more. Will it come down to Cameron or Kiki for Justin? He might have to make some decisions, but then again Kiki might make them for him. She may be willing to give him a second chance with Cheyenne, but not with her. Hmm who knows what\'s going to happen there. LoL ;) Yummy is right, imagine my excitement when I found out about the cast of Southland Tales - a two for one special lol. I might have to get that movie no matter how wacked it is. Thanx for the review Dani! :D

All I can say is, "WOW!"  What a wonderful story! I read up until this last chapter, and I am blown away by your writing. You really know how to write angst.

After reading to this point, I'm so angry with Justin's character, I'm not sure if I want to see Kiki and him get back together. I mean what a typical deadbeat! Here Kiki is pregnant getting ready to raise another human being on her own...and Justin is just going about his merry way. Sure, when confronted he's ashamed..but he's really not getting it. He has a little pitty party, and then he just moves on along with his new girlfriend, and his party.

I really hope that at some point this all hits him and he feels regret full throttle...and boy do I hope it's rubbed in his face! lol  See how your writing has got me all riled up? ;)

Can't wait to read more!

Author's Response: I\'m glad my story\'s getting such a reaction out of you, it was supposed to. I, myself was pissed at Justin as I was writing the last chapter lol. And thanks for the compliment on my writing style because English was my least favorite subject and I sucked at it. I was afraid that I wasn\'t getting my point across clearly but your insight on Justin is dead on. He doesn\'t get it at all that he\'s still causing potential damage to his child by not being there at all. He\'s being very selfish and cowardly about his responsibilities as a father and his reasons are inexcusable. It\'s going to come back and bite him in the ass one day if he doesn\'t suck it up and be a man. Thanks for your review!

OMG LuLu! I swear to you that I was just thinking about this story today. I was wishing for an update! lol Guess wishes can come true!

I read ALOT of different fan fiction, of all different types and I mean ALOT..I'm even attempting to author my first story in a different genera..Anyway my point is this...

This is currently THE best fan fic I am reading, and I'd say one of the best I have ever read. Enough said.

About this chapter..I adored it!..I love how strong you have made Kiki in this story. The fact she can put aside her bitterness enough not to take it out on the people that love Justin the most...that takes a strong person.

Loved the interaction between the families! I can't help but anticipate Justin realizing not only is he missing out on love and a beautiful daughter, but he is literaly on the outside looking in of his own family.

HIS family is having get togethers and cookouts, and it's now centered around the "Golden Child" and that child is not him! He has been dethroned by Cheyenne! HA...Take that Justin.. *snicker*  When he finally gets his head out of his ass..how oh how is he going to dig himself out??

Ok..Long winded review..but I want to encourage you keep going and hopefully inspiration will hit you again soon ;D

Dani

Author's Response: I know, the day before I posted I was looking at the word file for this chapter thinking that I had get it done because it had been too long since I last updated. Looks like my timing was perfect. LoL.\r\n\r\nNow on to Ms. Kiki - she was raised by a strong woman and mother, so she couldn\'t imaging being anything less. She\'s determined to stay positive especially seeing as she\'s going to be her daughter\'s only parent. She doesn\'t want her anger or the hurt that she still feels to get to Cheyenne. And part of that is letting Justin\'s family have access to Cheyenne, keeping them away would only hurt her in the long run and she\'s not about to hurt her own child. Cheyenne\'s the innocent one in all, she shouldn\'t have to pay for Justin\'s screw up and Kiki\'s doing what she has to, to protect her daughter. \r\n\r\nYou are so right about Justin and the distance that he\'s putting between himself and his own family by this choice his made and its is hurting him as much as abandoning his child is. He\'s burned some bridges that he\'s going to have to rebuild when he finally wakes the hell up. Don\'t worry about the long review, long/short doesn\'t matter to me, its still a great motivator. So thank you for the review, I\'m working on the next two chapters already. :P

You have done a great job going through the first year and a half for Cheyanne and Kiki. That is a happy healthy little girl, who is loved by everyone that comes into contact with her. Kiki has dedicated her life to making that happen. I also noticed the lack of love life for Kiki..I suppose that is not a priority for her right now..but still feel bad for her. She has one serious relationship that is over before it can begin, and she gets burned.

I can't feel bad for Justin..no matter how much he seems to be suffering. The fact that he is in pain is the only thing that makes his character tolerable at this point. I am literally on the edge of my seat  to see how this is all going to change.. PLEASE don't let it involve Kiki dying though...*puppy dog eyes* You wouldn't do that though..Right? lol

Happy to see an update!  It was wonderful as always. Can't wait for the next!

Dani

Author's Response: I\'m glad you liked this chapter. I was worried it would be too boring, being a filler and all. Now on to Kiki and her love life which is the last thing she\'s concerned about for two reason. One - she\'s focused on giving Cheyenne a stable home and a healthy childhood. Two - like you siad she\'s been burned, for the second time, this time worse and she doesn\'t want to go through that again. But just because I didn\'t mention it in this chapter does it mean Kiki didn\'t date during those 20 months. ;) I too feel bad for Justin, but its more in a piteous way because he\'s making his own life hell. Would I kill Kiki? Hmm? I don\'t know. I guess you\'re going to have to sit on that edge for a little bit longer. Tehehe :) Thanx 4 reviewing Dani!

Crying is not the best way to start out your day..but that's how it started for me. This chapter was so heart wrentching. You made us fall in love with Cheyenne last chapter, and now this sweet beautiful little baby could die. That's actually worse than Kiki dying.

Ok..now I feel sorry for Justin..against my will. Well, your right I pity him. A sick child supercedes everything else..and makes hard feelings and isecurities fall to the wayside. I'm just glad that Justin immediately reconized that he had screwed up. That he could lose his child.

At this point I'm just going to patiently wait for the next update, and hope that it brings good news for little Cheyenne. I won't even comment on the underlying stuff that has got to be going on between Justin and Kiki. Later for that.

The update was..Wow.

Dani

Author's Response: I know it was a sad one, but I had to bring in the drama somewhere and what\'s more dramatic and emotional than a child in crisis. Plus it the kind of situation that brings everyone together and cuts out all the BS that was keeping them apart. But the drama doesn\'t stop here, like you said there\'s \"underlying stuff\" between Justin and Kiki that still needs to be addressed. For now though, Justin\'s eyes are wide open now and he\'s finally going to man up for both his self and Cheyenne. Thanx for the feedback Dani!

I declare this a holiday...it happens every so often and when it does it's very special. It's called "Spoiled" by LuLu Day!   LOL  Yay...!!!!

Ok..Looks as if Justin is getting a crash course in being Daddy. Not only that...this family suite..it's forcing them to interact as a family unit. Very interesting.

Justin has to be completly humbled by the proof that everyone believed he would come around eventually. I am cringing just thinking about sweet little Cheyenne going through chemo. It's going to be hard on everyone..but I think it might just about kill Kiki.

As always..your writing is touching and wonderful. It hits the heart right where it hurts. BTW that was a compiment!  :D

Author's Response: I took it as a compliment, so thank you. I swear I crack up when I read your reviews. Hopefully the next \"Spoiled\" Day won\'t take so long to happen again. Yes this experience not only had opened Justin\'s eyes to his responsibilities to Cheyenne, but he\'s also learning how to be a father and how to interact with his child. I think he\'s doing a pretty good job and luckily Cheyenne is really connecting with him. The Elmo Room - they\'re looking like a happy family already now aren\'t they? ;) Now on to the sad stuff - yes that happy little family they are starting to become is going to go through some hard times. Hopefully they\'ll get through it all still intact. As always, thanks for the awesome review Dani!

Update time!!

Well this was a pretty pivatol chapter. Lots of things were finally...FINALLY addressed after almost two years. It was time..

I'm happy they had that talk but I still feel that there is something unresolved between Justin and Kiki...baby aside. WHY he broke up with her and basically broke her heart. He never answered for that, and I guess with Kiki getting pregnant it became a secondary issue..but I still feel like it's an issue he never answered for.

Poor Cheyenne..What she's going through is just heartbreaking. Just imagining her little body that sick..*sniff*

Once again, you've outdone yourself!

Dani

Author's Response: You are absolutely right, this chapter was an important one in regards to Justin and Kiki\'s relationship outside of their bond as parents. Now that the most important issue between them - Justin\'s absence from Cheyenne\'s life - has been settled the second one is starting to resurface. Its going to take some time for it to get to the point where they have to address the downfall of their past relationship - Cheyenne\'s still gotta get her transplant and changes in their lives outside of the hospital have to be made, but there are definitely questions (unresolved feelings prehaps ;) ) that still need to be answered. And they most certainly will be answered. Thanx for reviewing!!!!

Hello darlin'..So happy to see an update!

OK..first..Grandpa Wilson was awesome..He sure put Kiki's Dad and Brother in their place! It was still good that they got to vent out on Justin though..There was a lot of supressed anger..now the air is truly cleared.

Ok..I would say that Justin got a case of the green Monster when Shai came to visit Kiki. I liked it so well..I wouldn't mind seeing a little more jealouse Justin. Since he's the one that ended things..it's nice to see him like that. Whether he want to admit how he feels about Kiki or not..he can't hide that jealousy! LOL

Very touching scene when Cheyenne's little buddy came to visit her. I'm so wanting her to get well in this story!

Fantastic update..and I can't wait for more :D

Author's Response: Well as we knew Justin definitely has experience with the Green Eyed Monster when it comes to Kiki and now that he\'s back in her life, that green tint in his eyes is only going to get darker. A lot of the air concerning Cheyenne is getting clearer, but the air between her parents is only going to get thick. The second issue between Justin and Kiki is about to take the forefront. So stay tuned! Thanx girl for the review!

ohh...the 3AM updates are the BEST! ;)

Well all I can say is that was pretty heartwarming. The party with the "inner circle" was perfect. Everything it should be. It's good that Justin see's what he's been missing all this time. He is learning a lesson, and that's what makes us humans better people. We screw up, and we learn.

Of course Justin couldn't get comfortable back at his own house. When he left that condo he left his family there..and I don't just mean Cheyenne. He may not be ready to face it but there is more between him and Kiki than a daughter. They are a family.

I know she's an innocent bystander but I got a little satisfaction from Cameron's jealousy. (that's not nice of me I know) Can't blame her for her jealousy...and I have a feeling that it's going to get worse.I don't believe Justin will be stopping his time with Cheyenne AND Kiki.

I have said this before..but I think a little love interest for Kiki might be in order soon. Might be what Justin needs to get his head out of his ass.??

You know I ador this..and it's as if each chapter is better than the last!

Author's Response: Justin is also learning about family and how important it is - how family sticks together and leans on each other. He\'s got this new big family that has a great time together - eating good food and have good laughs, but he\'s also got his own family whether or not he realizes it right now. You hit the nail right on the head when you talked about him and Kiki being more than just parents together. Sooner or later they\'re both going to have to open their eyes and see that.

I swear you\'re like reading my mind when it comes to this story. Cameron\'s the odd man out right now - its easy to feel a little bit sorry for her, its got to feel very uncomfortable. Justin\'s not about to let anything keep him from his daughter (Kiki too? *shrugging my shoulders* Can\'t confirm that right now *wicked grin*)so if she complains it\'ll just cause friction in her relationship with him and make her look bad. She\'s in a complicated position and I can\'t say how, but its not going to get better.

Love interest for Kiki huh? Shai\'s still around remember? ;)

I\'m glad you enjoyed this chapter and I hope you continue to like each one after the other. Thanx 4 the review!

Phew! That was not easy for anyone... You did so well with the reactions of all the fans, media, the record execs...I'm so proud of you! LOL I can really tell how much thought you put into making this story as realistic as possible.

LOVE Kiki more than ever..I've always adored strong characters, and the girl is certainly that. BTW..her reaction to Justin trying to bring up the past was quit interesting. She has totally forgave him for not stepping up with Cheyenne..she couldn't be more supportive otherwise...BUT..Justin REALLY hurt her deeply when he broke her heart.

She had a pregnancy and a baby to prepare for soon after the break up..I don't think she ever had a chance to come to terms with what happened. She is a woman who loved a man, and he stomped on what they had. She never got to move on...Not even with a rebound relationship. Wonder if Justin will realize that he's NOT forgiven for THAT part of it?

I say, Come ooonnnn....Give Kiki a lvoe interest!!!!! lol  I want to see jealous Justin! lol

Wonderful update!

Author's Response: Aww *big hug* thank you so much. My aim for this chapter was to be as realistic as possible with the public\'s reaction. I\'m so happy I got that across *doing a happy dance* LoL.

I\'m a fan of strong female character too, in movies and stories, so from the start my plan was to definitely have Kiki fit that bill. She is not one to play with. LoL

OMG girl are you like psychic? You nailed it! That is exactly what Kiki went through. It was like one on top of the other - a broke heart and then boom she\'s pregnant by the person who broke her heart. She had to make a choice, which was more important, breaking down and possibly hurting herself and her baby or staying strong and health in every aspect for herself and her baby. She choose to bury her heartache and do what she had to for her child. But burying it does not mean she really dealt with it. There are still a lot of emotions inside Kiki and Justin too that have to come to the surface. There is still drama left to unfold and don\'t worry that includes a visit from Green Eyed Justin. :D

Thanx 4 reviewing Miss Cleo! LoL.

THat was a cool update! I actually forgot that Kiki had been a pussycat doll!  *chuckle* I KNEW that Justin was going to be in trouble when he saw that side of her. I swear I could just smack him! Idiot threw it all away because he was scared, now look at him. Now he won't take the steps to get her back because he's afraid of being rejected. As he should be. I don't see Kiki easily putting herself out there with him again.

Meanwhile Cameron's tired ass is sitting there..and it's kinda sad. Justin cares about her..but she's a filler for that part of his life..that's it.

I'm going to keep saying this...Why can't Kiki have someone!? Everyone has someone..even Alex..but there sits Kiki..still single. I want to see Justin's reaction to her dating! LOL

Thanks for yet another fantastic update hon..Can't wait till next time :D

Author's Response: A smack upside the head would be perfect for Justin. He had it all with Kiki and just stomped on it. He knew that when he first blew it and that hasn\'t changed. Its just that he\'s been cutting himself off from those painful regrets. Now that its in his face again, he can\'t ignore it anymore and he\'s going to be looking to make some corrections. ;)

On the other hand, Kiki is in no way ready to go there with Justin again, but she may have a fight on her hands when it comes to resisting him.

You are right on point about Cameron\'s place in Justin\'s life. And its hard not to feel sorry for her because she\'s got tunnel vision. Whether that\'s intentional or naivete is the question.

Now as far as Kiki and dating and Justin\'s reaction to it....All I can say is that you\'re gonna love the next chapter. Hehehehe :D

Sorry it took so long for me to respond. Thanx for reviewing and I\'m hoping to get the next chapter out soon.

Reviewer: DaniD Signed
Date: Jul 25, 2008 Title: Chapter 34: A Family Reunion - Yeahs! & Uh Ohs

Both chapters are just wow worthy hon!

Reading...all I could think was that Justin, Kiki and Cheyenne just FELT like a little core family. I know they are family connected by Cheyenne..but it's obvious the couple connection that they always had is still alive and well. It's like what Sadie noticed...Justin well and truly responds to Kiki...he gives her the kind of respect and pull that only his Mother and his wife/significant other should have. Cameron would have never reached him in that situation.

I was amused last chapter when Kiki was complaining about Justin coming over to her house. He just can't stay away from his baby...or Kiks really. I said it before...where they are is where home is, and he knows it.

I loved Lynn so much when she stood up and made her little speech at the cookout. Justin is the Timberlake/Bomar goldenchild...and so many people were willing to turn a blind eye to anything negative and place the blame on Kiki. Case in point Rachel. I was proud of Justin for admitting how horribly he screwed up to her..and I'm not surprised that once things were settled Kiki and Rachel hit it off.

OK...There is so much more thoughts and impressions..but I'm going to stop here. Thank you for the wonderful double post! I had a blast reading them :D

Author's Response: You are so right about the family that Justin, Kiki and Cheyenne have naturally formed - it just feels right for them to be together like that. And it definitely is not all about Cheyenne. On Justin\'s end in particular, he has grown very attached to his new family, reattached to Kiki. Its only going to get stronger as those old feelings between him and Kiki become more apparent.

Thanx for the review!
